Boersma's has a huge selection of fabric. What I have noticed lately is that the colors of fabrics are drifting towards "dull." I quilt with bright fabrics and they are becoming hard to find at Boersma's. I prefer to shop in a physical store rather than online, but with the closing of so many fabric/quilt shops there are limited choices of where to go. If Boersma's does not stock bright fabrics, I may need to turn to the internet. Shopping for fabric on the internet is iffy. I have received some wonderful fabrics with colors and patterns that I love, but I have also received some fabrics that had I seen in person, I would not have purchased. I really like Boersma's, but need more variety in brightness of fabrics.

I found my wonderful Sewing Teacher here and I've been quilting for a year and a half and sewing with her. I have almost finished three quilts and I'm going to do one more. I also was able to come here and get all my backing, batting and border materials for my quilts and I found that they have once a month class for quilting where I will be coming shortly to get instruction on hand quilting since it's pretty rare and you can't seem to find people to help you do that but they do here. Boersma is a wonderful old Sewing Center that has everything they even have vintage machines for sale which is right up my alley. I skip two Joanna's when I drive to here. I only go here for my main supplies!

This review has been updated…read more They had a simple job to do: make a brass plaque for my deceased dog's urn. The surface of the plaque was to be brown with brass lettering. I made a special trip to their store to pick up the plaque, eager to finally add the memorial plaque to the urn. Imagine my disappointment and frustration when I was handed the plaque and discovered that it wasn't brass but steel. I showed the plaque I wanted to staff when I placed the order so they could see how I wanted the plaque to look. I wasted time and gas driving to the store to pick up the plaque that now has to be redone, which means I have to make another trip to the store. And now I have to wait several days before I can pick up the plaque and finally add it to my dog's urn. I won't be doing further business with Copy Cats if I can't rely on them to do a simple job right the first time. I have updated this review and improved the rating to reflect their willingness to make things right. The redo of the plaque looked really nice, and they chose not to charge me for the plate. It shows that they value good customer service. I would have given them four stars except for the fact I had to wait five days before making another trip to the store to pick up the plaque, which held up completing my dog's urn. The manager, however, was very apologetic about the mistake and said he'd use it as a staff training situation. Because they chose to make the effort to satisfy this upset customer, I am willing to try them again.
