Really liked Dr McDonald at first. They made my glasses wrong and instead of fixing it he kept debating me over and over. Turns out his office manager optician got the wrong pupillary distance and that threw everything off. I had to bring them an accurate PD from another eye doctor before they would remake them. Before that he made me come in for another eye exam and when it was slightly different he berated me for wasting his time. They wasted my time and I found out later that it's normal to have slight variations in vision exams based on the time of day, fatigue etc. The issue was not my eye exam; the issue was the pupillary distance. I think he didn't want to lose any money remaking the glasses so instead of just doing that he thought he would attack me until I gave up and stop telling them I couldn't see out of the glasses. This is the dark side of this office that you won't see until someone screws something up. I didn't know anything about pupillary distance or eye exam variation or anything because I never been to a place where I experienced something like this. If his office manager, who I see from some other reviews has been rude to other people as well, had not measured my PD wrong none of this would have ever happened and I would have just thought he was a great guy and it was a great office. But as the saying goes, customer service begins when something goes wrong. They messed up and they bullied me. It was a horrible experience. read more

Dr. McDonald is the best doctor I've ever been to. He patiently listened as I explained symptoms that I was experiencing and, even though he'd never heard of anything like it, he did some testing and helped me sort out what might be going on. He has excellent equipment that helped him diagnose my macular degeneration early. He is kind and empathetic and takes a lot of time with each patient. I never feel rushed and I always feel like I can ask any question. His staff is wonderful as well. I highly recommend Dr. McDonald. read more

These folks worked tirelessly to help me get the perfect result. Prior to surgery in both eyes, I purchased glasses to assist with recovery during the period I'd be unable to wear contacts. Having 90 days to change the prescription was ideal. My eyesight improved drastically post surgery and both lenses needed replacement. My daughter had two vision screenings at her daycare- one in July and one in early December of this year, during these last 6 months, they progressively worsened. As a result, I decided to locate an optometrist who works with pediatrics and has the patience needed. I called three different places that Google recommended including Envision Eyecare Center, Banner Ophthalmology, and Sato's office. The Banner people were rude and not helpful (review pending), the staff at Sato's office were equally as rude and unhelpful; nonetheless, I made an appointment with them (for mid- January 2018). Finally, I called Envision Eyecare Center and they were so personable on the telephone and were able to get me in the following week. I called Sato's office and cancelled my appointment and showed up at Envision a few days ago (12/27/17). Everyone from the front desk person (Erica) to the optometric technician (Jessica) to Dr Barry and the licensed dispensing optician (Laura) were amazing and most of all patient with a 3 year old: Erica greeted us upon entry even though she was with another patient. We waited patiently for our turn and then check-in, filled out appropriate paperwork, provided our insurance card and ID and sat in their waiting area. They even had a smaller kid-sized table and chairs. Erica came and showed my kiddo where the toys were and helped her get settled in as we patiently waited our turn. Unlike, most of my experiences with doctor's office we only waited the 15 minutes we were early and were then called back by Jessica. Jessica introduced herself to me, but most importantly to her- YES, TO A KID! Jessica asked my kiddo if she felt more comfortable with her sitting on my lap or on the chair alone, being my kid- she responded "alone." She then proceeded to ask me the questions only a parent could answer and would intermittently check-in with my kiddo. *MAJOR KUDOS FOR THAT* This built immediate rapport with my kiddo and my kiddo proceeded onto the exam. At the end of Jessica's part, she even remembered to get my kiddo the cup of water that she had previously promised her. *KUDOS X2 FOR FOLLOWING THRU* Dr Barry came in, introduced himself to mom and dad and than to our kiddo. He was a slender, mid-height, older gentleman with one of the kindest faces I have ever seen. He had an appropriate level of energy and made us (mom & dad) laugh occasionally. He was extremely knowledgeable of his "trade" and was able to effectively explain to both of us what exactly was going on with our kiddo's eyes, how the school screening went and was his recommendations would be. By this time, my kiddo was becoming inpatient and her attention span was shorter and shorter, not to worry though, Dr. Barry was able to hold it for as long as he could for each step of his examination. He even offered to take a picture with her for her first exam, but she declined and told "next time." Finally, Dr Barry escorted us to a section adjacent to the waiting area where there were numerous frames, big, small and some for the kiddos. Laura came out and helped us. Showed us a cabinet with kiddo frames and my kiddo went away trying them on until she finally decided on ones she liked and the rest is history...well actually, we're waiting for them now. I've had glasses for many years and so has the hubby, we've only had two seamless interactions (including this one) and we're so happy we know our kiddo is in good hands. We were also happy to find out that we can bring our prescriptions to Laura (or one of the other ladies) and get our frames here as well! read more

I saw Dr Adam McDonald when he was at Accent on Vision and really liked that he took the time to explain what we were looking for in each test and what it had to do with my diabetes. When I went to make my next appointment he had moved to Envision Eyecare and so I followed. He is still very caring and clarifies any questions. My prescription hadnt changed much and finances being tight with the pandemic he didnt try to push me to buy something new. I like that he put me first before the buck! I had not been to an eye doctor in years, and recently I have been noticing some issues with my vision. The staff here was very nice and helpful, and would take the time to explain and answer any of my questions. I really appreciate their patience, especially because I was very nervous. Dr Barry was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain my issues and gave me hints on what I can do to help myself. After, when I had to go through the process of choosing my very first pair of glasses, the staff was so supportive! Dr. Barry is gone and the new doc seems good. The problem is that the staff misled me (read as outright lied to me) about there features of the frames they we selling me. I feel that they have low product knowledge and probably low integrity. They are promoting and selling cheap "Made in China" frames as if they are handmade in the USA. If you want "Made in China" just go online to someplace like Warby-Parker, at least you won't pay 5x what they are worth, like you do at Envision. read more

I moved here from another state. So moving means needing to find all new doctors and places to go for medical needs and checkups. I found Envision through both yelp reviews and through my company's insurance plan with UHC. I really like this place. The overall location is a little tricky to find the first time because you can easily turn into a parking lot nearby and not the street you need to drive to the end of. Anyway, they have nice decoration and great staff and assistants. Dr. Barry is very knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. He will tell you everything you need to know and more, whether you want to hear it or not. Haha he will lift you up in every way possible too, making sure you know how great and special you are (and your eyes). I also really love and appreciate Liz. She was honest, patient and helpful when we picked out new frames, deciding which shape and style best fit my face. I bought a years supply worth of contacts which came along with a free pair of sunglasses of my choosing. They ended up being polarized, so they are great! read more

Please read my last review for info on Dr. Patel. I needed my prescription corrected because it was written incorrectly by Dr. Patel. Dr. Greiten corrected it for me who is newer to the Envision office. I also wanted to point out, in my previous appointment with Dr. Patel, she told me to see an ophthalmologist because I may need surgery. Then after our eye appointment she told me I could order glasses and contacts. When I went to the ophthalmologist they informed me that she never should have offered to let me order glasses or contacts because if I did end up needing eye surgery my vision prescription would have changed (and I would've had to reorder sunglasses, glasses and contacts again). I feel it's very unprofessional that Dr. Patel recommended I order all these items if she knew I could possibly need new ones very soon. Also not to mention nothing ended up being wrong with my eye, so if I would have seen the ophthalmologist she originally made my appointment with, I would have been out of a lot more money than I am now. Editing and updating this again. Less than 6 months later my glasses lens has started to crack. I take very good care of my glasses and have never broken a pair but my lens is literally shattering. When I ordered my glasses here I paid for the best, top of the line lenses I could possibly get and I did not receive that at all. Editing and updating again: Yet again (still less than 6 months later) my lenses have started to crack in the same exact area. I do not recommend getting lenses from here. Even at the "highest quality" they are still made with very poor craftsmanship. I am extremely careful with my glasses, clean them and store them properly, and have never broken a lens in my entire life (over 20+ years of wearing glasses) and now suddenly in less than 6 months somehow 2 pairs have failed. Envision has been a total let down to me for multiple reasons and multiple appointments and I would never recommend this office to anyone. read more

Interesting "American Indian" decor in the lobby and friendly front office hides the fact that they actually have a very advanced office with modern technology that is digital instead of manual devices and tests that I have seen for years. Dr. Flint did my exam and she was awesome, very nice, reassuring and easy to talk to. Normally I go to a new eye doctor every year because I need one that's close to work or I find the least expensive one, but I think I've found a long term office for me. They also have their paperwork online so no more forms to fill out in the office, they clearly state all the fees for everything, they helped me find glasses I love, and they set up follow up appointments to check how my new contacts are working out. Thank you Dr. McDonald, Milissa S. and staff. Two weeks ago I scheduled eye exams for self and husband, was able to be seen very next week, today I picked up my new glasses. Dr. McDonald was very thorough, explained everything he was doing and the costs associated, let us choose whether we wanted extra exam of retinas. He was not rushed or pushy, I needed new RX, husband did not and he did not try to upsell us on anything. Milissa helped me pick out frames, offered options for lenses but was not pushy at all when I wanted basic lenses. When I picked them up she was very careful to adjust frames to my uneven ears so glasses were straight, and even adusted fit of my old glasses (back up pair now). My son and I have been seeing Dr. Barry since 2013. He and his staff have been professional, warm, informative and accommodating. I got diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and after receiving chemo my vision deteriorated but Dr. Barry ensured I received the best care and he has helped me adjust to the effects of chemo on my vision. Once a year, when it's time for a renewal of my vision prescription (because I'm basically blind), I usually go to my local mall-type vision location to get that taken care of. This year was different. I had been having some vision issues when going from extreme light to extreme dark, so I thought I should look up an actual doctor's office to make sure everything was actually okay. Enter Yelp. The reviews for Envision Eyecare Center were excellent, so I took the plunge and made an appointment. Every aspect of the experience was smooth sailing. The receptionist was possibly the friendliest I have ever spoken with, and she answered my questions about eye dilation in great detail. The appointment was with Dr. Patel, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was calm, patient and informative. She seemed genuine and really took her time talking with me about my results. I am inquisitive by nature, so patience and accuracy are the most important things I look for in a doctor. Dr. Patel did not disappoint. This location was a great choice because they offer a retina laser photo option as a substitute for traditional eye dilation. I was able to get my results and head straight to work afterwards. I will most definitely be returning to this location next year for a follow-up. read more

This lovely practice has maintained it's comfortable atmosphere and attention to detail from day one. I write this as a patient of Dr Patrick J Barry O.D. . I met him as a post surgical pt back in 1993. I had just undergone radial keratotomy . I had multiple , really painful burning incisions in both eyes and I knew I'd made the wrong decision to have RK. Dr Barry was thoughtful and focused, he got my eyes safely through months of healing without any further complications. That was 24 years ago. He is still our vision care provider. The practice has evolved with advances in technoloy too , enabling me to have. all the additional monitoring required with autoimmune disease . I am an RN who values continuity of care in a time when it can be difficult to find. And by the way, the eye wear piece of the practice is pretty impressive. I went to see Dr Barry. During my initial visit I had to wait over 2 hours to get through the exam. Then i was given a prescription that I was pretty sure was wrong. I told the doctor my eyes were constantly dry. He wrote me a prescription for drops. When I went to fill the prescription it turned out the drops were $200. Upon my first day of work it was clear the prescription was wrong. I had to go back to my old lenses. Upon arriving for my follow up appointment I was told I was a day early. When in fact the card they had written out for me had the date I had shown up for. Again I was made to wait. The 2nd Eye exam revealed that the first doctor had given me the wrong prescription. This experience makes a good case for getting LASIK and being forever rid of these doctors. To be continued... read more
