Came here to see the Michael Jackson biopic. This theater needs an upgrade...not all theaters have the reclining seats, but during the movie whenever someone reclined their seat..you could hear it loud and clear. Outside of that, the staff was friendly and I did enjoy the movie. read more

This used to be my favorite theater. I They desperately need to redo the seats. The leather has completely worn off and can actually come off onto your clothes. The last visit I had there was no air conditioning in the theater. We didn't know this since we bought tickets online. The solution was to keep the doors to the theater open. We sat allll the way in the back so it was cooler. I hope they do some renovations so I can return to my favorite theater. read more

Very poor customer service. We went to the concessions stand at about 8:15 to pick up some last minute requests while the trailers were still running on our 7:45 movie. There was no one at the register, and I had to call out "hello" to get help. They refused to serve us because they had locked the front door, so the theater was technically "closed" (although our movie hadn't started yet) and it was too "late" (8:15pm). I had already spent over $225 for our whole family to buy tickets and get some pizzas and popcorn right after we first walked in. That wasn't enough patronage for them to open up the register 30 minutes later when some members of our party had additional requests. There is an AMC near the Altamonte Mall that is a much better experience. You're better off going there. read more

My husband and I needed to relax, so we decided to go see a movie at Wekiva Riverwalk last week. We caught a matinee because it's more affordable and less crowded. The movie theater has ample parking, a few arcade machines, and a decent variety of food and beverages. We split the popcorn and soft drink combination with a box of Buncha Crunch. The hot popcorn with liquid butter paired with the sweetness of the chocolate hit the spot! The employee at the concession stand was friendly. We loved that all the seats reclined, it allowed us to relax like we were at home, but to enjoy the sound and big screen experience of the IMAX theater. It was my first time at Wekiva Riverwalk as Winter Park is the closer theatre for me. We grabbed some snacks in the lobby and headed into the theatre. I was super surprised to walk in and see non-stadium seats. The floor was completely flat... no stairs to climb up to your seat. You can see everyone in the theatre if you're in the back. And no wall between rows so you can see directly into the row in front of you. My sister said she was distracted cause some young lady in the row in front of us was scrolling Instagram the whole dang movie and had the brightness all the way up. But the worst was the quality of the seats. The leather is completely worn... and it was not just one seat or one row, it was every single row and every single chair. It looks so trashy and cannot be sanitary. I'm pretty sure I walked away with leather peelings on my pants. This Regal is like a cheap home movie theatre. Not worth visiting when winter park is about to be nicest one in town after renovations. read more

First of all, the staff here is amazing and super nice. They offer a wide variety of popcorn sizes, candy, snacks, and drinks. We are a part of their loyalty program and are always receiving perks! Nice little theater. Our new "home" theater as we bought the unlimited passes. Really like the room inside and that the seats recline. Unfortunately the seats are already showing wear but that happens. Not sure when it was remodeled. Not overly cold or hot, still take a jacket or throw if you get chilly easy. The volume here also seems to be better than at regal point where you need ear covering. read more

It was my first and last time at this theatre. The price for the tickets were a bit more than I usually pay. I was fine with this, until I entered my designated theatre. Right away I noticed all the seats were dingy. The seats were peeling so bad I thought the original color of the seats were white. There is one safety concern I did notice, a ceiling tile was missing. Which is definitely a safety hazard for everyone. Personally I preference theaters to have some raised seating platforms towards the rear of the auditorium. Sadly my designated theatre didn't have this feature. I went to see bad boys 4 on a Monday night and I would say it was exactly what I expected. I enjoyed the fact that it is close to my house and easy date night visitation for me since I love to watch movies. The reasons give 3 starts because the ladies room was disgusting. Literally every single stall and I do love that's the chairs reclined but they can use a little upgrade since the leather is breaking. Those are my main two complaints but mostly the ladies room. Went out for a movie and this theater is under construction. Alot of work has been done to the theater sitting. There are new floors, screens and wonderful reclining seats. There is also the enhancement of selecting your seats which you can do online as well as when you purchase your tickets. The construction has moved to the concession area so not sure what the final product amenities will be. The staff is courteous and it is great to be able go to a theater without the huge crowds, easy parking and a short walk to the door. The popcorn was good and we enjoyed the movie. We are also members of the Regal rewards program and we got a free movie ticket on this visit. So a great evening at the movies. read more

I love the Unlimited plan and the features. I do not love the fact that you can't remove payment methods and need to reach out to Customer Service in order to have the subscription cancelled. They are stealing $ from customers by making it IMPOSSIBLE to remove a CC or cancelling the subscription on our own. It is set up to keep you locked in the subscription unless you email customer service. Regal Customer Service wrote me this response: "Thank you for taking the time to contact our office. Please be informed that it is only the customer service that have access to cancel a membership and again according to the Terms and Conditions of Unlimited plan". This theater has recently completed renovations. They have new restrooms and a concession area. All of the seats are reserved leather recliners. They do not have any IMAX or RPX premium format screens, but the picture and sound are very good. I've visited this theater many times, and what I've been noticing is a great improvement in staffing. There are more employees and everyone seems very proficient in their duties. I will definitely keep coming here. read more

Big, comfy, reclining seating with plenty of arm and leg room AND a walk way in front of each row so no one has to do the awkward side step shuffle every time they walk past your seat. With assigned seating there is no fear of losing your seat if you leave for some snacks or bathroom. Be prepared for extra slow service at the snack counter if going during matinee times or weekdays. Bathrooms and theaters are very clean, and a courteous staff. So the next time you are going to catch the latest blockbuster, give this place a try. One star for the seating and theater improvements long overdue. My family has been going to this theater for so many years. The staff has always been cordial and helpful. However, the experience we endured this week will keep me from visiting in the near future if ever. My spouse, who uses a cane and I went to the door at 11:55 am for a 12:30 movie. The guy told us it would 5 more minutes to open doors. We went for a walk for 15 minutes. Upon returning the doors were still locked. It was 93 degrees out. We went to the ticket window and there was a girl inside counting money. She looked at us then looked down again without acknowledging us. Unbelievable, honestly. Yes...recliner chairs are nice. HOWEVER...no notice about the devastating conditions of the property is a nearly comical travesty. You enter a place dilapidated and tented, with severely uneven flooring and only ONE bathroom... They have a women's bathroom and the men's is under constructions. So they have set up portable lavatories outside of the theater.......wtf Beyond this, the men's outdoor restroom is also unavailable!! Wtf kind of ghetto ass place is this, charging $11 per ticket? This is a small, local theater, perfectly fine if you want to go out and see a movie at the last minute. The theaters themselves have been recently renovated, plush and comfy seats that literally rock! Popcorn is good, prices typical for a theater like this. If you want a more modern style with stadium seating and all the bells and whistles, this is not for you, but if you just want a nice diversion, this is awesome. read more

Visited for the first time with my son after a long while once I learned they now have recliner seating. Because the ticket prices are less than most other theaters I usually frequent (something like $9.99 for an adult 3D ticket and $6.50 for standard), you'd imagine the place can get very busy. I bought my tickets online ($3 processing fee) but was glad I did because there was a LONG line for tickets and a couple movies sold out as people stood waiting in line. The reclining seats and ticket prices is what will keep this small neighborhood theater a viable option. Don't expect much else aesthetically. I suggest buying your tickets ahead of time. I didn't know until after waiting 20 mins in line that if you buy ahead, you can bypass the line, go straight inside, and show them your QR code. TLDR; Incredibly rude patrons with a loud toddler let their child talk, yell and play with a cellphone during a Saturday evening showing. Management did not intercede, even after being notified. Our family went to see a Saturday evening 6:30 pm showing of Black Panther. It was a cozy theatre, the seats were nice, and we reserved them in advance; all good so far. A family with a toddler came to the movie, the toddler started talking about 1/3 of the way through the movie; the family handed the toddler a cellphone to play with during the movie. The child was literally playing on the cell phone while we were trying to watch the movie. The child got very loud and was jumping on their parent's lap. It got so bad that I went to find a staff member, the person in the row behind me followed me out. We both went to the concession stand and asked for a manager; we both told the employee the problem. We were told a manager would come to the theatre and address the problem. Someone in a theatre uniform walked to the front of the theatre, waited for approximately fifteen seconds, and walked out. Unfortunately, the toddler was quiet at that particular time. Then it started again, the toddler talking to the family, the family talking to the toddler. All through the remainder of the movie. Lot of questions from the toddler to the parents about the movie and the fight scenes, lots of explaining to the toddler on the part of the parents. It was a miserable experience. Hard to become engaged with the family and toddler acting like it was their living room. So, after the movie, I again asked for a Manager. This time the Manager was paged and I explained what happened. The Manager offered a refund and movie passes and said, "I don't want you to leave unhappy" and "I didn't see it so there wasn't anything I could do". I disagreed and said "Perhaps your staff could have stayed more than fifteen seconds, or even checked a second time. If two patrons complain at the same time, perhaps that indicates there is a problem?". We didn't take the refund or the passes; it was time wasted and a movie we really wanted to see/enjoy ruined. The staff needs to be better engaged when they receive complaints during the showing, especially when two patrons independently complain at the same time. read more

I use to live in Apopka and I must say, I am amazed at the improvements to this theater! The lazy boy reclining chairs are extremely relaxing and make you feel like you are watching the movie at home. The restrooms are really nice too. This place has really changed and is a good venue to attend. I gave it a three for two reasons. 1. The food: I wish the food was elevated too. The popcorn is not as appealing. 2. The service at the food counter: The young lady assisting me felt very scripted and was on her phone. I understand if you are having a bad day, but to just rude to not look at the customer in the eye when they are ordering something. To end this review on a high note, the woman at the ticket counter was extremely nice. She answered my questions and made me feel valued as a customer. My movie buddy live in Apopka. I live in Orlando. When a movie comes out, we usually meet at a halfway point like Winter Park Regal to see a movie, but sometimes life gets in the way, and either he comes all the way out to Orlando or I drive out to Apopka to see a movie. United Artists Wekiva Riverwalk 8 is our Apopka theater. It's not the greatest theater, but it's also not the worst. It's in the middle of a shopping plaza which is kind of weird for a movie theater, but I think I'm just used to theaters at malls and independent theaters. The theater itself is kind of bare bones. You can get popcorn and snacks, but they don't offer alcohol like most other theaters do nowadays (As a non-drinker, I don't mind this, but I could see how this would be a dealbreaker for others). The theaters are standard. The seats are adequate and the theater appears to be fairly clean with a little bit of wear and tear over the passing years. Ticket prices are around ten bucks per ticket, and that falls in line with the average ticket prices I've paid at other theaters. I think the main draw of this theater for me is that it doesn't attract huge crowds on opening nights like other theaters do. We saw Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice here on opening night, and we didn't have to wait in line and we had great seats. The movie was godawful but that's beside the point. More recently, we attended one of the early showings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story here on Thursday and the theater wasn't full. We arrived early expecting an onslaught of Star Wars fans, but when we walked in, we found plenty of great seats still available and had a great time (Rogue One is awesome and you should go see it). We concluded that this might be our go-to place for huge blockbusters on opening weekends due to our previous experiences, and hopefully or future ventures here will prove us right. UA at Wekiva isn't the best movie theater in the area, but it's a great spot to catch a huge, wide-release movie without having to get there early to ensure a good seat and to experience it without a huge crowd. It's a bit out of the way for Orlando folks, but if you really want to catch a new big movie on release weekend and not have to deal with long lines and awful seats, Wekiva UA is a respectable alternative. read more

Wekiva Riverwalk seats are a fantastic upgrade compared to the older seats. However, every time someone in the theater would adjust their reclining seats it sounded like a motorized wheelchair coming from all angles of the theater. Nearly 20 years and no change Growing up in Apopka I experienced many a nights hanging out at the Wekiva Theater. So maybe they earn an extra star for nostalgia sake. Oh the theaters of the 80's and 90's. The first dates with a high school girl. The first time you stretch your arm in an incognito attempt to get it around her. The first time you get kicked out for sneaking into a R rated movie, and still felt success because it was the third movie you watched that night on one ticket, which you didn't pay for because you're buddy works there and he owes you money. Oh the first time you successfully snuck in an entire bucket of Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits and two Taco Bell Chalupas under a coat jacket without getting caught. Memories are great aren't they? I'm sorry but the past is past. It's time for this theater to put on some big boy pants. As an adult, I am unimpressed, The seats are still uncomfortable, the food is still just as bland and boring as ever , the bathrooms are still covered in urine (most likely the same urine that was there when I was a teenager,) and the movie and sound quality hasn't changed a bit. When the theater advertises "Experience this movie in 2D" you have a problem. This theater is very old and outdated and needs to be replaced. Even if you just happen to live close by, I recommend you drive a little ways and experience a real modern theater. My intention is not to sound mean, however the least they could do is clean the place up a little bit. It is just not worth it when the nicer theaters barely cost more, but offer a much better experience. If Wekiva wants to survive they need to become a dollar theater, the Picture Show could use a little competition. read more

I also like that while there are only 8 theaters, the selection is really great and current. I had seen a few movies here and it was just a typical older theater. The seats were not great and the theater was dated. I was socked when I got to the box office and they asked me to pick out my seats like this was Downtown Disney or something... well.... the nee seats are better than Disney! Huge chairs that fully recline! I don't thing there is a bad seet in the house... but Row G is where its at! I am very excited for this theater to finish the renovation and bring some life back to this movie theater... hopefully I can update this once the renovation is done. read more

I used to go to a lot of movies when I was single. I had frequent member cards for all the local theaters and often would find myself getting dressed up on opening night to see Lord of the Rings or Pirates of the Caribbean. Yes, I'm a complete nerd/geek/dork all rolled in to one. This place has been around for almost thirty years. I actually saw Terminator 2 here and that isn't even when they opened. This lead to the theater really being run down for many years. Then it was renovated a few years ago and even had the carpet changed! Now they have fewer seats which provide more room for your legs. The seats are also very comfy and not only recline but they rock. The sound system is also good but they are upgrading all Regal theaters so that a few screens have the higher end RPX systems. Prices are fairly standard for tickets, but I noticed that their food and other refreshments are actually cheaper than other theaters. This allows me to give them an extra star and really makes me want to return to see more movies here. The final bonus is that almost all the time the place is nearly empty because most people go to the new AMC super googolplex. read more

I caught a matinee at this theater. I must say that this place was rather decrepit. I cannot understand how this theater is still operating. Realistically they should turn this place into a bargain theater where they play movies that have left many of the more popular theaters for a $1.75. This place would be a germaphobe's worst nightmare. I often fear what kind of diseases one could contract from this antiquated theater. In all fairness though the seats weren't that bad. At least this place has one positive thing going for them. The prices for a matinee were fairly reasonable. But like Alistair, I think I'd rather fork over the extra bucks to enjoy the amenities of a nice theater. However that is just me! United Artists you are just meh to me! If you live in Apopka, I would imagine this place beats having to drive to Altamonte. So if you love this place for that reason then I can understand.
