Wow, I cannot believe that I have not reviewed this place yet. Perhaps, I wanted to keep the secret to myself? It is a small, dine-in style theater with a laid-back old school feel having just 3 movie rooms and a full menu. Unlike typical theaters, the seating is chairs and tables or booths, so that you can enjoy food while you watch the show. Movie tickets can be purchased on-line or when you arrive. Generally, they are showing new releases and the prices are good. They often have host other events such as special screenings, trivia nights, live music, etc. and the ticket prices for those events vary. Once in the movie room, you choose your seat - it is first come first served. A server will come around, usually twice, to offer you a menu and to take your order. There is also a QR code available should you choose not to wait for the physical menu. They also bring your order to you. Ordering isn't mandatory. The few times that I've ordered, I was satisfied with the order. In general, I think that the ticket and menu prices are very reasonable. Staff is typically good and I have always had good experiences here. read more

Office style cinema with a pretty extensive menu including alcoholic drinks. The computer chairs are comfortable, but there are booths if you prefer that. Servers are prompt and friendly. Always a great place to hang with the fam! The service is good, the food is tasty, and the prices are good too. The prices of the food are good they give you a lot of food. They are really making it look nicer in there too. Now they have QR codes on each table so that you can order the food and pay for it in advance and it comes directly to your table without a waiter having to come and take your order from you. Went here after almost 10 years. Not much has changed over the years. The place still looks a little old, and the seating isn't the most comfortable. It was also pretty empty when we went, but that actually worked out well, since we had two toddlers with us. The staff was friendly, which we appreciated. 3.5 stars We returned a year later to watch the second part of Wicked and we found that seats were updated. Front part of the theater still had the wooden tables with three or four wheeled chairs each while the second half of the theater had a two seater combo with a small wooden table, four down the middle and four on the left and right sides. The 6p showing of the movie was sold out and we quickly sat down in a comfy area. I sat down and one tallish lady sat in front which is the chance one takes. I went with the chicken quesadilla ($12) and it comes with a small serving of sour cream and salsa, I drank a tall cup of Sprite ($4) which they brought out very quickly. read more

Still coming to Aloma Cinema Grill for a nice low key relaxed theater for our new releases. The most popular movies are usually there as well as limited release. They also now have special engagement and live music for more variety to enjoy. I love the improvements they have made to the menu including a QR code or physical copy and even offer art to purchase now! They have added alcohol to an already great menu which is great. This place is great for kids and I recommend anyone with those 10 or under the go here they are spaced out and the crowd is friendly to understand that children may want to get up and run out of the theater or you may have to go to the bathroom in the middle of a show and no one's gonna suck their teeth they have great appetizers such as pretzel bites nachos and of course, the staple popcorn. They also have great burgers and pizza and cool desserts they serve beer and wine for those who have a designated driver as well. I brought in my Stanley cup with water and they were OK with that which is a plus cause a lot of places don't let you do that. The customer service hasn't been great for the last 20 years. I've been going here that theater itself is dated but in a retro feeling way they keep it clean and the prices are always matinee prices around seven bucks per person. They also give senior citizens student in military discounts, pay cash and sometimes you even get A free ticket to return. read more

Aloma Cinema Grill is a local win! They have a family friendly movie atmosphere and food/drinks served table side. IYKYK! Atmosphere: You won't find huge reclinable seats or stadium seating here but I like the laid back atmosphere and more table space to enjoy food and drinks at. Movies: Limited selection but they usually are playing whatever are the top movies at the moment. Pro tip: the movies start right on time and don't have a million previews! Food and drinks: They serve typical bar food (pizza, sandwiches, fried foods, and beer/wine). The food is priced high ($10 for chips and salsa) but I find it a very good value with the movie ticket prices being reasonable. The fries are crispy and hot here so definitely order those with your meal! Service: Staff here are fast and friendly. They work hard to get your food and drinks out to you as soon as they can without much disruption. Make sure you it take a photo or screen shot of your movie ticket when you buy them online! This theater is such a hidden gem! It's located in Winter Park behind Mellow Mushroom. They don't show more than like 3 movies at a time but if you are willing to wait for movies to make their rotation this theater is only $7.50 per ticket! Inside they have untraditional movie theater seating along with tables and full table service. It's kind of like a diner and theater combined. They have a full food menu along with drinks (beer/wine/sangria) and non-alcoholic beverages as well. We did not order anything but I absolutely will next time. I'm so happy my friend told me about this theater, I hate paying so much to see a movie. This place will be my new go-to! read more

Pros: this theatre is rarely packed! They have a pretty decent menu and good pricing. Tickets are also significantly cheaper than most. They run discounts for students and seniors, and it's even cheaper if you go before 4 pm. One thing you should know is that no one is at the front to assist or check with ticket purchase, they will check later when you're seated at the movie. Cons: chairs are not the most comfortable, not great security since there's no one checking at the door or when you walk in, so anyone can pretty much walk in. This place is a gem. Is it outdated? Yeah, so what? Honestly it's just a great place to see a movie and grab some fun food while you're at it. Tonight we attended a showing of Deadpool and Wolverine and I thought the place would be packed. At 6:30pm there were still plenty of seats to be had. We only ordered a popcorn and received it quickly. We were checked on by wait staff a few times. The chair situation is okay. Not the best but by far not the worse. My family and I have gone to Aloma Cinema Grill for years. I had neglected to put a review until a recent event. Let me explain... My wife and I along with some friends decided to watch a movie one Friday or Saturday night. When we walked into the hallway, the ticket counter was closed, so we assumed that we could buy the tickets at the table where we would view the movie (which was normal practice from time to time). A storm had hit earlier, and we were met by whom I assume was the owner of the establishment and she let us know that the wi-fi was down, and there was nothing they could do to charge for the movie or any food for that matter. At first, we didn't understand what was going on. She was obviously frustrated by the whole ordeal. But she kept her composure and offered to let us watch the movie for free, and offered us a free pizza and wings as well. For me and the group, that didn't sit well with us. We didn't want to take advantage of her that way. We decided to watch the movie, and she fave us popcorn and drinks. After the movie, the owner came by and was cleaning up. We quickly gave her cash to cover the movie, popcorn and drinks before she could refuse. We also realized that there were other theaters that were packed or partially full. We knew these other patrons were also watching for free, and I hope they did the right thing by paying the owner cash for the movie. That's a lot of revenue lost if you ask me. The owner was grateful for our generosity. We literally didn't have to pay her and could have taken advantage of the situation. I hope this is just the start of something positive with so much negativity in the world nowadays. Treat others as you would have them treat you. Simple as that. Went here recently and it was amazing. $10 less for tickets for 2 people at this theater compared to Regal. Amazing food and drinks. I had nachos (half order is huge and was SO delicious) and a small popcorn, both of which were quite fresh and yum. Pricing is not bad at all. Service was amazing; our server had two toned hair and a tie and was epic. Theater seats were comfy and there is lots of space between chairs and booths. Good sound system, clean bathrooms. I used to love this place, but it's been on a steady decline over the past 10 years or so. The ticket prices are great, but the food and especially the service is SO BAD! In my most recent trip, I went with my wife and kids to catch a new movie the kids wanted to see. When we sat down, our server greeted us and took our order. However, after a very extended period of time, we noticed that everybody else had been served except us and we were looking around wondering if we had been forgotten. My wife ended up flagging down our waitress and she apologized profusely that we hadn't been served yet and said she was going to talk to her manager to see what happened. Fast-forward another 15 minutes later our food finally arrives (popcorn and an ice cream sundae), but we still haven't received drinks yet. Fast-forward another 15 minutes later we finally get our drinks. My wife spoke with the waitress and the waitress told her that she was very sorry and asked us if we wanted anything else and that she'd comp it for us. My wife ended up ordering nachos for the comp, and those came out fairly quickly. Fast forward to the end of the night when we have to pay our check, I noticed that the nachos were on the bill. When we asked our waitress about it, she said "oh, I asked my manager and she said that I couldn't comp any food." All I could do was let out a chuckle at that point. That would have been great to know before the waitress had told us she would comp something for us. On the visit before my most recent one, the service was so slow and bad that the waiters ended up giving us a 10 or 15% discount because they were so slammed. I felt bad for the waiters, but this is now seeming par for the course for Aloma Cinema Grill. As for the food, it's bar food. However, for the price, the quality of chicken tenders, pizza, nachos is just plain not good. Long story short, if I were coming just to see a movie then this place might still be worth it just for the ticket prices. I used to come here a lot, but it's been a while. A guest and I came to multitask our lunch and entertainment and it was a winner. Movie price is low and food is expensive but surprisingly good (highly recommend the spinach/artichoke dip if you don't have an aversion to cheese, yum). The movie experience was fun while being relaxed and informal. Chairs are comfortable and could be best described as rolling office chairs that lean back for comfort...but some are squeaky and if the person in that chair is oblivious to the noise they are making it can be extremely annoying, take my word for it. Staff told us during the weekdays, only one person works so you buy your movie tickets at your table. Even though only one staff was working all three theaters for tickets/food, she remained efficient and pleasant. I recommend this place if you want to save a few dollars on your movie and not be in a crowded theater. That's the major advantage of this compared to other theaters. Unfortunately the seating is quick uncomfortably and dated. Further, the food was overpriced (I know that's not atypical for a theater) and the quality was a major miss. As this theater is small (and to make room for the dining tables), they usually only show a few movies at a time. It looks worn and old, but clean. The ticket prices are cheaper when compared to other theaters, which is a big plus in my book, but I haven't had much luck with the food. My very first visit to this theater (years ago prior to knowing about Yelp), I ordered nachos and added chicken. The nachos were cold and the cheese tasted...well, not like cheese and tasted old whatever it was. Most recently, I ordered a pizza with extra cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes. It came with "extra sausage" mushrooms and tomatoes. I ended up just picking out the sausage as I knew the kitchen was closed by then (they told me before my order came out just in case I wanted to order anything else before it closed). There was so much sausage, that I gave up eating it halfway through the pizza. Oh well - at least the movie was good! 2.5 stars for this business (the food really dragged down the score). read more
