I went on the 4th of July. It must have been a bad day for them. The woman you pay charging me $21.12 for one buffet copped an attitiude when I questioned the price. The place reminded me of why I don't go to chinese buffets any more. Much food was floating in pans of some kind of liquid and I think they overloaded the MSG. I didn't appreciate the food and I enjoy chinese food. I really like Grand China Restaurant but they are in Anderson. The real killer was in the bathroom the plumbing was clogged. We've eaten here a couple times since moving to the area. This last time they were kind of busy. But a lot of the food looked old, and wasn't being eaten, or replaced. The soups were old and thickened onto the sides of the pots. The restaurant itself is not well kept or clean. Avoid the booths, there's old food and utensils along the inside of the dividers and between the seats and the walls. Overall it was super disappointing this time. Overall the food was good and the server was great. The overall experience was good for me and my family. Only major issue for me was with pricing - one price online and about $5 in restaurant. * We had a party of 10 so the discrepancy between online and in-store was significant. * They discourage use of credit card. * They charge for kids 2 years and older. * They have hibachi but the amount of available product is minimal, in my opinion to maybe discourage customers from over-taking. * They charge 10% fee for parties of 8 or more, which totally makes sense. We went to the window to pay, to be able to go in to the buffet area. The man at the window his short has black hair said how many I said 3 adults please. We are always asking how much the total cost is , because if you don't pay attention they like to charge the dinner price at lunch time instead of the lunch price . I was asking myself in my head, why is this man yelling at me? and he must have gone mad. holy guacamole! where do i begin... i've been wanting to write a review for epic buffet for a while now, but just needed to wait for the right time. if you know me, you know epic buffet! i've seen some people complain about pricing in their reviews, but i see no issue ($15 for all you can eat and i believe it's cheaper during lunch time) so as long as you get more than 1 plate, you already got your money's worth. most of the food is pretty good and they have a pretty good variety- even a more american section for pickier eaters (mashed potatoes, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, etc) i would also highly recommend the salmon and the sole fish. they also have a hibachi and sushi section. the wait staff is VERY VERY nice and helpful. overall a great experience! i would definitely recommend to a friend, a stranger even. read more

Just left there with my son. Enjoyed our food but as we stood up the server said "where's my tip?!" I explained I paid with card and tipped on the receipt. She asked "How about more money?!" She was very aggressive. She asked for my receipt and for some reason I gave it to her. She told us to stay there while she marched up to the cashier demanding to see the matching receipt where I tipped and signed. We weee walking past and saw him hand her the tip in cash. This is absolutely one of those places where you get what you pay for, inexpensive menu prices for all you can eat Buffet, average food of a decently wide variety; sushi, noodles, hibachi, dessert, etc... staff is friendly and quick with clearing dishes and refilling drinks, service has always been delightful. The ambiance of epic is that of just about any Chinese buffet you'll find around here, it's relatively quiet and dim inside excluding of course the people serving themselves. Seating is a bit tight but when you're going back and forth between plates it's not a big deal. Highly recommend for a quick affordable dinner or lunch:) read more

Avoid.. Food was cold, I ended up spitting out some of the chicken I picked up because it tasted very old. On the last trip up to the buffet I was across from the lo mien noodles waiting to get some for myself. At the buffet was a mother and maybe a 4 year old child beside her. The mother put some noodles on the plate and the child decided to put her hands in the plate, rub her hands all in the noodle, spilling a good bit over onto the counter. When they walked away a worker stopped, then proceeded to pick up the noodles the child dropped and put them back in the serving tray. Only when I said "dude, that's f'in nasty" did he stop and leave. After that we left immediately. There were several children running all over the restaurant and serving themselves at the buffet. An above average buffet with some below average selections. This buffet has many options, and most of them are really good. However, the meatballs are covered in breading and are almost inedible. The teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and orange chicken are good choices, but the general tsos chicken isn't spicy. The macaroni and cheese is good and the spring tools are good, but the eggs rolls needs some work. Nothing we tried was remotely warm and we got there when it opened at 11am. Huge selection, with salads, chicken, beef, shrimp, rice, plus a very large dessert table, but everything we tried tasted as it had been made hours ago and placed on warming tables that were low on fuel. Skip the buffet completely and go straight to the stir-fry counter where you may choose your ingredients and get it made while you wait. At least it will be warm. I took my children to this restaurant and stood there for five minutes waiting to be acknowledged. when no one came to seat us so I began looking for a worker. OK, first, the five stars are for this business for what it is, not in comparison to some epic (LOL) steakhouse or real sushi bar. It's a Chinese buffet that has a great selection of foods and good service for a buffet. For those who reviewed this badly, you should probably try a Chinese buffet more than once - they are bound to have a bad day. I went for dinner and my buffet, including the buffet and the drink (refills free) was only $13.48 with tax. I believe that the base price for lunch was $7.99 for adults and for the most part, the restaurant would get the (one) $ rating although for adults at dinner it gets the (two) $$ rating - not bad for all that you get. When I walked in, I thought that the place looked fairly clean and after you pay, the hostess seats you. You can then go up and get a clean plate and fill it up with whatever you like and you can do that as many times as you like. My first plate was all Asian food, but there was a wide selection of american, southern, salad and dessert. In my opinion, I'm not sure that anyone could say that they couldn't find something that they liked. All of the food from the buffet that I got was either nice and hot or at the right temperature for the food. The waitress came around a couple times to check my drink and when I went to get the second plate, my first was cleared before I got back. The two really good features here are the sushi bar (there was a wider selection than I've seen at most buffets) and the hibachi bar (which I haven't seen at many buffets) so my second plate was the hibachi bar with a little sushi. It was prepared in front of me and it was fantastic (the hibachi - not the sushi). I'm that clientele the buffet business likes because I limit myself to two plates and I try not to waste food, so I limit what I put on my plate. That being said, I only perused the dessert bar and saw a couple of things that I would have loved to try, but since I had used my second plate for the hibachi and sushi, I bypassed the dessert. Again, unless you have had a really horrible experience at a Chinese buffet or gotten sick, you should really try this again and compare it with others that you have been to before reviewing it. We noticed right away that the waitress was sick she was just casually walking around coughing as she showed the other guests to their seats. Mind you she had to walk through the aisle where there is food, this woman repeatedly coughed while walking by the food. We were disappointed because the rice was hard and the fish dry. I could tell it had sat out on the Buffet a long time. Actually, the other food had the same stale look and taste. This buffet is much like any other big buffet I've been to outside of Las Vegas. It had good things and it had bad things, but it most definitely had a massive selection. The interior is the standard gaudy with too many neon colors that I've seen in such establishments before.
