Great buffet as always. Not been a huge fan of buffets recently as they have gone downhill, but this one has always been a staple and I have always been to Mutt's since I was younger. This is helpful when you dont want to eat all of the bread and it doesnt leave the bread soggy. You get two sides and they add three hush puppies. The meat was hard and overcooked. Actually I was very surprised when I got there. The buffet has something for everyone's likes. The pulled pork and ribs are served dry or without any sauce, every table has three choices for you to decide, if you want a hot sauce, it's available and bottles are back near the soda machine. The buffet has all the fixing for you, two different potato salads, cole slaw, Mac n cheese and more. Hot vegetables to to many to list, I had a few and all were good, the hush puppies where warm and crispy! I didn't try the fried chicken but it looked awesome, golden brown and crispy. On a separate cold bar they have a large selection of deserts, again something for everybody. Prices seemed reasonable, plenty of seating so your not cramped or crowded together. *Experience during Covid-19* Mutt's is a solid buffet style BBQ restaurant in upstate South Carolina. To be safe through the pandemic, you cannot self-serve yourself at the buffet. When you go up to the buffet You will tell staff what you want and they will make your plate for you. We also had an awesome waitress, who after we got our initial food items, would often check in to take away plates or bring us other items from the buffet we'd like saving us the trip back to the buffet. The buffet has quite a variety of items to choose from (and even a separate ice cream buffet cooler you can choose from for dessert). I sampled many items from the buffet (first time here) and the standout items to me were the mac and cheese (soooo good), fried chicken, hash and rice, and pulled pork (gonna need to put some sauce on it though). I don't know if this place is under new ownership or what, but the food quality has gone way down. We tried it one more time on Sunday and it was terrible. Macaroni isn't creamy but sticky and dry, potatoes are sticky, got cream corn and it didn't even taste like corn. The meats are just ok. $35 for 2 people and we didn't eat $5 dollars worth. One of my favorite BBQ places to eat. My family and I love to BBQ buffet. Sometimes we are in a hurry so I go through the drive through to take food home. Great BBQ, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. If I had a complaint it would be that they don't honor our military. My son in the Marine Corps came home for the weekend and they wouldn't honor his discount but it's all good. But that's why I will give a 4 out of a 5 star rating. read more

just now The staff, for the most part is friendly, most of them, but my last experience was not good, because this is around the third time or fourth time I went there to get a chicken dinner, which included sweet potato crunch, potato salad, two breast, something very simple. The breast was very dry. The sweet potato crunch was one big clump of brown sugar with stringy potatoes, the fried chicken, the skin looked white from sitting out too long when I called the next day, they told me I had to wait to get my money back prior to that a guy name. Aiden had told me the day that I called that if I come back the next day he will give me my money back when I get there , he tells me the district manager has to refund me keep in mind I did not use a card I paid cash so I asked him the district manager has to refund me $13 you can't refund me I'll call the district manager and he said no being that I was going out of town I told him that I would ask him to call the district manager but to no avail so I have to wait a week when I come back to get $13 cash I will not go to this establishment anymore. I am a sucker for a good buffet and this fits the bill. Nice variety of southern food (which I love) and the staff are very nice. For the price of the buffet you get a drink too which is a good deal. Kind of feels like a mini Cracker Barrel but I like the food a whole lot better. If you are in the Greenville area this a great choice. $30 for 2 adult buffets on Friday night. read more

We were going to go to the Greer location, but were told that the Mauldin location was better. So there we went. First impression, good because the lady at the front counter was absolutely wonderful! Now, the food....There isn't a large variety of food, just the basics that you would have at a barbecue. The green beans : Not fresh. You can tell they came from a can, and needed more seasoning The collard greens: From a can, not fresh collards, and bland The fried chicken : Tasty The fried baby shrimp : Tasty The ribs : Very tender, but no smoky flavor or seasoning The sauces : Cold and watery. I wasn't impressed by any of the sauces. Sweet Baby Rays tastes way better My son's enjoyed the macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and fried shrimp. They didn't enjoy the ribs, and didn't try the other sides. Maybe we went at a bad time, but overall I am not impressed. Delicious bbq! We had the buffet and it had a nice selection of meats, including shredded chicken, shredded pork and ribs. The ribs were falling off the bone and so tender! As far as sides, the macaroni and cheese was WORLD CLASS and a big hit at our table. Everything at the buffet tasted good and fresh - not like it had been sitting under heat lamps for hours. There's not a big difference between the Mutt's locations and food. It's the same and consistent across all the locations. The big difference is that you can actually get in this location most of the time. It isn't to say this location doesn't get busy, but we have never been here and had to wait for a table. Terrible service. Anna the server is extremely rude. She speaks in a "sweet" voice as she makes ill-polite comments. To make matters worse, she saw trash stacked up on the table and walked right by! This is the best Mutts location and typically not as crowded as Greer. I love the Mac and cheese and the Ribs. The thing that is so great about Mutts compared to other BBQ in the area is Consistency and Value. You will not find BBQ this good and this cheap anywhere in the upstate. read more

We stopped at Mutt's BBQ for a late lunch. It was our first time visiting. I liked the cleanliness and the ample food choices. I also appreciated the senior discount (65+), which was only 50 cents, but it was something - $10.49 for the buffet, which is a good deal. I was impressed with how tender the pork ribs were. The meat literally fell off the bone. The pulled pork was good with BBQ sauce on a bun. There were more side dish choices than you could eat in one sitting. And there were several desserts to choose from, including ice cream bars. The employees were attentive and pleasant. We came to Mutt's on Father's Day at 1:45. I was not surprised to see a full house because the food is always consistently great. However, we had the misfortune to come when they were OUT OF RIBS!!! How can a BBQ place as good as this be OUT OF RIBS? As our meal went on it was evident they were running out of more and more items including desserts and SWEET TEA!!
