I have severe allergies to dairy and when I ate there I had a bad reaction! I ate all the food that did not contain dairy. This shows that the buffet is not sanitary and I would NEVER return! Also, the restaurant does not turn on the heat when its cold so the restaurant is very cold on raining days. Horrible! read more

So my hubby and I decided to try Epic Chinese Buffet in Simpsonville, it was date night and our family gave the place such great reviews so we tried it. The overall experience was ok, pricing was average buffet pricing, choices of food was just like any other accept if you want crab legs there's an additional charge of $6.99 per pound on top of the $9.99 plus drink purchase of $1.79. I really didn't see what the big hype was about. Sushi had sat for awhile and was dry, hibachi cooks had attitudes messed my meal up, our server was on point tho. Now there were signs all over the place that states if you wanted to take your already pre-paid meal with you would be $4.99 per pound for no seafood, $5.99 with seafood. I'm really couldn't see paying twice for a meal I originally paid for upon entry. We have tried Hibachi Grill and buffet on woodruff road which I enjoyed a lot more, not to mention it cost less. On another note: with all buffets I wish they would have detained shrimp, what is the point of a great smelling meal thats marinaded in poop! Eeewwwww. Was a bit nervous at first to go. But checked it out. They have your standard Chinese fare but have some Korean, Japanese, and American foods. The sushi was fresh and tasty. The buffet items were fresh and hot. The wait staff and front counter staff were very friendly. Will definately return again. read more

Everything was bad. There were bugs, there were rude waiters. There was hair in the food. There were workers yelling at customers. There food was cold and there was no good taste. I would not recommend this place to anyone. And to add a cherry on top. There overpriced. read more

I went with a group and we were treated with such disrespect. We were harassed by 2 waitresses as we began to sit down to eat. They kept asking for receipts that were handed to one of the waitresses after we had paid for our meals. There was no reason for the harassment or disrespect. The waitress refused to give one person a glass of tea that she paid for with her buffet. She was only concerned about a receipt that she already had on her hand. Even the cashier came to our table and started lying to us when we requested to speak with the manager. He stated that he was the manager, however he wasn't. I have never encountered such treatment before. It was unwarranted and uncalled for. No one deserves to be mistreated when visiting an establishment. I will not go back to epic buffet. read more

My family and I have been going to this restaurant since they opened. We thoroughly enjoyed going to there, until tonight. I have a daughter that is 10 and the owner asked us and my daughter how old she was a few times as if he didn't believe us. Turned out he said that he was charging us full price because she was over 10. We explained she wasn't 11 yet but that didn't matter to him. His argument was as long as she was 10yrs and 1 week she was over 10. Needless to say we left and told him we would never be back. read more

Most sketchy Chinese buffet ever. Meatballs have more breading than meat. Not sure what kind of meat is on there. Noodles are pasty and tasteless. Sesame chicken is greasy. Spring rolls have a mystery filling. There's no salad dressing for salads. The dumpling sauce squeeze bottle is covered with oil. I hope I don't get food poisoning. Place is greasy all over. Routine Chinese buffet. Pay on the way in - just over $23 for two of us. Better than average sushi for a buffet. Lots to choose from, but a surprising amount of non-Asian food. We were there at 6pm on a Saturday, so the crowd kept the food trays turning over. Friendlier staff than most of the Chinese buffets I've been to. This a your typical Chinese Buffett .. Pay up front and then be seated. My son and I went for lunch and this was the first time we had been here. I will say the Buffett is well stocked and huge .. A lot of selection and also American food.. The sushi was delicious and the hibachi was well done also.. The Buffett food was well made and tasted very good. The seating area and Buffett was very clean and well maintained. The wait staff was courteous and kept the plates cleaned off and our sweet teas full.. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good selection of food for a group or family to have what they each want . The price is fair at $9.99 per adult and $1.79 for your drink , a dollar higher than hibachi on woodruff road but is well worth it seeing the last time we dined at hibachi Buffett on woodruff road we all got sick . We tried this fine establishment today. It was very clean and organized, and had a good variety of Chinese Buffet food. I've never been a fan of these places, but we are new to this area and my wife wanted to try it ...so we did. It's about average in price and food quality for Greenville area. The good was the staff that was on point, and no bad smells or sticky carpets. The bad was the hibachi cook that did not ever communicate and put something that tasted like maple syrup on my stir fry food, making it inedible.. and no labels on the sushi plates...so you just had to guess what was in it ? This place it ok. It is a serviceable buffet, but it is not one of the better ones I've been to. They do have hibachi, which is nice. It assures that your food is fresh, but the Chinese selection tasted like it had been sitting there for a while and some of the meats looked like they had been sitting in liquid for who knows how long. I have been here many times since moving from Delaware. The food is usually fresh and well stocked. The variety is plentiful and usually warm to hot depending on when you arrive. I am a very big sushi fan and must say the variety leaves something to be desired. More rolls than sushi. All are served cold as they are on a bed of ice, but for the most part tasty. The hibachi grill area is bountiful, kept fresh and clean, and seems to be stocked with quality items. The cooks do a nice job keeping up with the demand and cook to almost perfection. The place is kept clean, the tables are cleared and cleaned almost as you leave. The staff are very acomodating, and attentive. I think for the price of a buffet meal you really can't expect much more than this. read more

It was our first time there. I took my sons on a sunday at lunchtime thinking it would be good and hot.. Everything looked great. Wonderful presentation.. They were short staffed, when we went and got our food It looked good.. At table it was cold, some things were undercooked like calamari, green beans were hard and cold. I was very disappointed as was my 17 and 10 yr old. We don't get to go out much as I am single mom. We spent 40 dollars. My mom was with us and it was no worth the money. This place was simply awful. The staff could not speak English. The busser brought my son the wrong drink, and when I asked for the right one, she had no idea what I was saying. She got the hostess who clearly told us that he had already had some of his drink, and they would not give him another. Clearly, they do not know how to run a restaurant, and do not put customers first. In addition, the food was disgusting; cheap and tasted awful. The food was room temperature when you put it on your plate, and cold by the time you sat down. It cost $10 per person, and that was way too much for the value. The seating was very tight. You either backed into someone else, or could barely fit into a booth. We had a hard time finding a table for four that fit us, and our two boys are very thin and young. Hibachi station was great with many selection to have the chef cook for you. Place looks clean, and up to date. But do not bet on the quality level of hospitality. Not good at all. Food is close to okay. Service is non-existent. Granted it's a buffet and all they do is refill drinks and clean up plates. We paid for a bottle of orange juice for my son, but got fruit punch instead. When we asked the staff if there was a price difference, they said 'He already drank it. No refund.' WE WEREN"T ASKING FOR A REFUND!!! Just if there was a price difference. They could barely speak English. Customer service skills were appalling. Food was not kept warm enough. By the time you sit down it's cold. I assume it's not kept too hot to extend the shelf life. The seating is very cramped. They tried to jam in as many table as possible. There is a variety of food, just not really anything good. Skip this place and go somewhere else for sure. read more
