Felt the love at Epic Fitness this past month! I have been a regular for Run Club on Wednesdays for some time now. This past month they opened up their gym portion for anyone and everyone so I took advantage. So happy I did. Taking both Fit and Revolution classes; I found myself with a bunch of like-minded, health conscious individuals. The classes don't drag or feel boring, but are surprisingly fun, encouraging and motivational to work out. The gym itself has a little of everything. From weights to TRX to rowing machines. Even yoga! During this year's LoveFest you could feel the excitement and bonding from every participant. Although I didn't win any raffle, I felt like I won the opportunity to find the best gym in Simi Valley. Thank you Adam and all other trainers for letting me join your classes. This is a great gym with a wide range of class times, which makes it easy to stay consistent. Confession - I am not athletic and I don't particularly enjoy working out. I decided to try Epic Fitness on a whim because of all the good reviews. I was worried that it would feel like high school PE class, but I wanted to keep an open mind. The first workout was free, and I had nothing to lose. Three weeks later, I'm so happy that I decided to give this gym a chance! The workouts are difficult, and by the end of every hour, I am sweaty and tired. Usually, this is enough to deter me from coming back after two weeks. However, I genuinely enjoy going to my Epic classes. The coaches are inspiring and encouraging, no matter what stage of fitness you are at. And the sense of community here is unlike any gym I have ever tried. Ever since going to Epic, I find myself getting excited about setting physical health goals. I'm in a better mood when I go to work. I'm more conscious of what I eat, not because of an aesthetic weight goal, but because I want to take better care of my body. Started coming here in November looking to get out of my home workout rut. Instructors are amazing, the vibe is very friendly, and everyone is patient. There is a wide range of athleticism, ages, abilities and still everyone remains committed to pushing one another which is awesome. Postpartum, Shawn has been invaluable in providing modification suggestions. ALSO shoutout to my fellow parents- In a post COVID world, finding childcare in a gym is tough - Jodi and Kaitlyn are a godsend! The ability to switch between class times on any given day is an added bonus because my work schedule can often be quite unpredictable from day to day. Epic Fitness is a great gym located in Simi Valley. They offer many group workouts for all fitness levels. They also have open-gym, spin cycling, yoga, and obstacle course racing type workouts. If you are looking to lose weight or improve your fitness level this gym is definitely a good fit. The staff is very friendly, and there is a great camaraderie amongst the members. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be invited to a Spartan training at Epic Fitness in Simi Valley. Coach Adam, coach Nick and everyone there made us feel so welcomed. I was immediately struck with how big the facility was. I loved the side rooms (spin bike room), and they even had a mezzanine floor with more workout equipment. I forgot to take a picture of all the medals earned from different races and runs, so cool. My workout crew from Fit Body Bootcamp Sunland-Tujunga, and ARC Fitness Burbank were put through our paces. We ran along the channel next to the gym, being serenaded by the early morning calls from the ducks and Egrets, amazing. The two hour training was hard, challenging and oh so fun! About a month ago, I decided to make a lifestyle change and get fit. Found Epic and just jumped right in head first with zero idea what I was actually getting myself into. Anyway, 3 weeks later (14 actual classes) and I feel absolutely amazing. A month ago I was 223lb and I'm currently at 205lb. The thought of attempting to lose 20lbs or 5% body fat (I didn't even know you could measure them separately) was so big that the minute I left the building I panicked! I was terrified of what I committed to, the 6 WEEK CHALLENGE. Thanks to my loving and supportive husband, he calmed me down and encouraged me to just give it a try and to not give up before even taking my first class. Going from ZERO activity for the better part of six years, to attending minimum of three classes per week seemed almost impossible, but I figured, it's only six weeks. ALL of the instructors are AMAZING and the community that you can feel among members is so welcoming. Even on my first day when I knew nothing about any of the equipment, folks were eager, willing and down-right happy to help me out. I am SO thankful for the early morning classes that are offered and for the tight schedule that is maintained, as a working mama, with a commute, this was VITAL to my success of making it to class. The variety of classes offered also helped keep me motivated to attend, a quick morning HIIT session or a 30/30 spin/HIIT always set me up for a great day. The Tribe Yoga is a great one that helps me re-center and finish out my week, while the Fundamentals classes train and re-train how do to things correctly. It was very helpful that my husband agreed to jump on board with the eating plan. It is true, what is posted on the walls of EPIC, fitness is 20% exercise and 80% nutrition. If you trust the plan, and plan accordingly, it just works. What I've learned through this challenge is that, it's okay to stop and plan how you are going to take care of yourself... EVERY DAY! I've been managing, what typically is the most stressful time of the year, with clarity and focus and I attribute that to taking care of my body, finally! The best reward has been the sweet, "I like that mom", from my 6 year old son after my first morning class. Anyone who is serious about kick starting their fitness journey should start at EPIC! I have been attending EPIC Fitness for 4 years now. If you want to be part of an amazing tribe who care about you, encourage you, inspire you and push you past your limits, then this is the place for you! Workouts are always different each day. All the coaches are AWESOME! Staff are super helpful and friendly. And the people who come here to workout, are all nice and inspiring. I have made some amazing friendships here. They all believe in you when you don't believe in yourself. There are so many things I never thought about doing, like a Spartan Sprint for instance. I was scared!! I found EPIC in October 2019 and started with my first 6 week challenge. I did okay, but wasn't in the headspace of staying focused as I should've. I still recognized I had found an amazing place with top-notch coaches and staff and workouts that I get excited to do. Fast forward to January 2020, and the 6 Week Infinity challenge. I decided I wanted to kick things up a notch and never looked back. I went in for my final weigh in this morning (both on EPIC's scale and the Dunk trunk, which is used to measure weight and body fat while sumberged), and during those 6 weeks, I lost 12.5 lbs, 9.7 of which was fat and 3.3% body fat. During the challenge, I stayed focused while traveling for work, twisting my ankle and having to skip workouts for 5 days and getting a cold which also forced me to take more rest days. Even though that, I had support from the coaches, staff and some of my fellow challengers. EPIC provides the tools, it's up to challengers to make the best use they can of those tools. I learned a lot during this most recent challenge, but most of all I learned that taking control of what I need to do for my health and fitness is what delivered results. This is an astonishingly good little local gym. I signed up for a six-week challenge for motivation (I wanted to lose 20 lbs.) and I had heard great things about Adam and Kaitlin, the owners. The accountability was a key. It's hard to cheat when you're jumping on the fat-boy scales for a checked weigh in on Monday morning. The even have a "Scale Jail," where you can drop your own scales' so you're not checking your weight every three hours (who would do THAT, right? ). The diet plan for me, a vegetarian, was superb and the weekly weigh-ins were super crucial to the process. Wendy Littge, our beloved fitness teacher from the much missed Oakridge Fitness Club (now Crunch) had moved over to Epic and had long spoken highly of it. Needless to say, a lot of our former workout buddies were there too and all raved. It did not disappoint. If you're into the kind of workout where you putz around, do some weights and listen to music on your headphones (me a month or so ago) then this is probably NOT the gym for you. If you want support, motivation, great teachers, and wonderful facilities with hardcore cardio\strength sessions then step forward. The teachers are ever-present, supportive and guiding. They actually remember you injured your back several years ago and suggest workaround exercises BEFORE you have to ask. They're present, helpful and wonderfully supportive. I can't speak highly enough of Adam, Kaitlin, Wendy, Abi, and Roger at Epic Fitness. It's my new go-to gym\fitness club. Cons? There may be TOO many workout options\configurations for my taste (they boast about never doing the same workout session twice) and I sometimes have trouble remembering what exercise is coming up and how to do it; parking is often "challenging" and there ain't no shower sweaty Betty but these are minor quibbles in what, in my opinion, is the finest gym in Simi Valley, maybe LA. And yes, I DID achieve my 6-week challenge. read more

I wrote a review here 4 years ago and now I need to update it!! I've been working out here for 8 years now and it just keeps getting BETTER!! They have a big beautiful facility, more awesome trainers, huge variety of exercise equipment. I'm still excited to get up super early and meet friends for a great workout! I'm in the best shape of my life at 43! There is a "family" atmosphere where everyone supports each other to reach our goals. I've now run 5 half marathons and just completed my first Spartan! Like most people looking to get (and stay) healthy, I've tried A LOT of places. Epic is the one place where I felt like I was missing out when I didn't go. The workouts are varied and interesting, and the coaches offer a myriad of variations for those of us with limitations, injuries, etc. Kaitlin, Adam, Roger and Carol and extremely knowledgeable and encouraging. They work with you one on one to establish your goals and to help you reach them. Not to mention the people who go there are like family. We all support each other, challenge each other, etc. Aside from the daily workouts (which include strength classes, running clinics, cardio, spin, yoga and obstacle course training to name a few) the gym organizes groups for races like Spartan and Ironman. It is now nine months since I joined EPIC, and I can't recommend it highly enough! Not only was the 8-week challenge earlier this year impactful (I lost 9 pounds and 3.3% body fat), since then I have participated in a Spartan race (Dodger Stadium Sprint in late April), something I never would have imagined myself doing were it not for the support and motivation of my fellow members (our EPIC Tribe!) and the owners. As the owner said, I am a "serial visitor" to this gym. I keep going back because I get results- whether its motivation to workout, to get toned, or for their fitness challenge. Some of my friends swear by this place. The workouts include spin, practice at the track, spartan prep classes, hiit classes, and a few others. I rate it 4/5 stars because of the price and limited daycare. The monthly fee is more than I am willing to pay, even though the instructors all take the time to learn your name & the workout community is supportive. Short version; if you are tired of feeling tired and you are looking for change, Epic is the place for you! The minute you walk through the door there is no negativity and you can't help but to feel positive when you leave! They have put together the perfect recipe for success and after 3 weeks we were hooked and wanting more. My husband and I joined the Epic 6 week Challenge and it was important to me that I write this review prior to our final weigh in. Regardless to what the scale says I know that we have both WON this challenge! 6 weeks ago my husband brought me into Epic to meet with Kaitlin, I sat on the couch listening to her describe the challenge thinking that there was no way I'd be able to make the necessary changes to succeed. I sat there feeling broken, my anxiety was at an all time high and our stress level was off the charts (Our son is fighting leukemia). My husband made the executive decision that we were doing it and we signed contract on the spot. Our first class was on a Monday and no joke I was positive that the 10 minute warm up was going to kill me but it didn't and I survived. I was unable to do a burpee, I was unable to do a box jump, I was unable to do a push up. We made it 3 times the 1st week, our bodies were sore and detoxing from sugar and processed food was making me crazy but we made it. We sat down with Chris (nutrition coach) and learned more about the delicious shakes he made and quickly became obsessed with Herbalife products. (I've tried almost every shake out there and these were the very best, in our opinion). I look so forward to my 2 shakes a day, they really helped me through my sugar/snack addiction. We made sure to get our shopping and food prep done each Sunday and Thursday, always having protein and veggies readily available. We enjoyed the recipes in our book and had fun playing with different seasonings. By the end of week 2 we were enjoying the food and already feeling change. As the weeks went on the workouts became enjoyable (I can't believe I just said that!). Always pushing ourselves to make that hour truly count. Wendy, Abi and Roger (coaches) are phenomenal and beyond encouraging. If modifications needed to be made, they were always right there to help, never judged you and never made you feel inadequate. In fact everyone that was there working out, regardless to what class we were doing came in all different body types and all different ages. Never once did I feel like we were at the wrong place or feel uncomfortable. The tribe is truly Epic!Which brings me to Adam, Kaitlin and their beautiful daughter, the owners of Epic; they are amazing people, they truly enjoy changing people's lives and they absolutely love the Tribe that they've created. I've never met two people that were so hands on in every aspect of their business. Their smiles, positivity and energy are contagious and they make it a point to say hello to every member each day! We look forward to walking through the door, wondering what crazy workout will be on the white board, knowing that for that next hour we will be surrounded by Epic people. For 6 weeks we didn't have any processed food, sugar or alcohol and more importantly for the first time ever not one cheat taste or meal. We did the Epic Strong workouts 3-4 times a week. I'm now able to do box jumps, burpees and push ups. New goals have been set! We genuinely love all of our new healthy foods and continue to meal prep. I've learned how to channel my stress and anxiety into my workouts. I have energy throughout the day & my meals have become more about fueling my body instead of just eating to eat. For the first time in my life, I don't care about what the scale says! Amazing trainers and always a great workout! I had been working out on my own for the last year and managing to gain weight. After just five weeks with epic fitness I lost 5% body fat and gained 10 lbs of muscle. I feel better and stronger. When reflecting on what was different I realized I was slacking off during workouts on my own and not always eating healthy. I wasn't motivated and I wasn't enjoying the workouts anymore. I was bored and so were my muscles. Epic fitness kept me motivated with different workouts, great trainers that are always willing to help, and personalized workouts to challenge my body. I've been member of Epic Fitness since 2014. The staff/trainers are amazing! They all greet you with a smile, hug, or high five! I currently just competed a 6week Challenge & Wow! Back in January I wanted something more in my current fitness plan. I was a regular at a local gym in Simi Valley, it is very small gym and it was a perfect fit to start my fitness journey. I still would highly recommend that gym. But it was so small that at 5:30 in the morning there was only maybe 6 of us. I wanted more. I wanted a community, friends, and a sense of place. These guys are amazing! Did their 6 week challenge and saw amazing results! What this team did is help me figure out a sustainable eating plan to compliment their efficient, yet kick-a$$ workouts. I was successful in losing substantial weight in my early 20s, again early 30s, now in my late 30s w/ a family, demanding career, and a wearing body/joints etc, I struggled to find the right combination of effective workout and eating plan given my time constraints. EPIC was the missing link in my late 30's. During the challenge, I lost a total of 16 lbs, 12.6% body fat and feel the best I have in probably a decade. Honestly, I have had the hardest time getting in shape. School threw a curve ball and I put on so much weight with the stress of balancing work and school at the same time. On my first visit, just to see if I even liked the place, the owner jumped down my throat with a million questions demanding to know every goal... unrealistic to ask and was extremely imposing. He was very distracting during workouts, rather than motivating, I found him to distributive. I attended this venue as I had a gift certificate.
