I like this planet fitness a lot. It's the cleanest and I am a man. I feel lifting, and doing cardio. I am not very old. I just don't drink, smoke, and take illicit drugs. I am under 50, and do my best. Not as strong or fast, like I was in my late 20s. But, stronger and have more stamina. Not perfect, but who really is. More consistent.....sleep more for my muscles to heal...and rebuild. A strong advocate of mental health. A STEM teacher, who got a fancy degree that is not beneficial. I have been a member here for 5 years and have had a relatively good experience here in that time. I love the amenities that are available and do use them. My issue is the cleanliness and customer engagement. I use the Total Body Conditioning and everytime I go to use it, I have to spend time cleaning the floor because of all the hair and junk that is on the unit floor. I mentioned it to an employee a few months ago, but nothing has been done to adress that. The employee was empathetic to my concern, but I think that's as far as it went. It just raises concern for overall cleanliness that seems to have hoave gone downward. The employees will greet you and tell you have a nice day when you leave, but if you have a concern, it's a deer in headlights look sometimes. Kind of concerning. read more

I visited the gym on the evenings of April 28 and April 29, 2026, and wanted to share some concerns about cleanliness and staff responsiveness. On April 28, I was greeted by a staff member who was very pleasant. However, at the end of my workout, I used the women's restroom and was surprised by how dirty it was. There were clumps of hair on the floor near the showers, dirty mirrors, overflowing trash in the stalls, and toilet paper and seat covers scattered across the floor. I brought this to the attention of the staff member at the front desk, understanding he was the only employee on duty and likely unable to leave the desk unattended. On April 29, I was not greeted upon arrival, despite two associates being at the front desk. After my workout, I checked the restroom again and found it in even worse condition than the previous night. I spoke with Myah at the front desk and explained how unsanitary the restroom was. Her response was "Oh we have been short staffed, there seems to be some sort of epidemic plaguing the gym, sorry I will stop going on with my monologue. " While I understand that staffing challenges happen, it was concerning to see two associates at the desk, just chatting away and one on her phone while the facility, particularly the restroom, was in such poor condition. I've noticed that morning staff consistently maintain cleanliness, which raises the question of whether evening staff are being held to the same standards. Additionally, I understand that the regional manager, Miranda, is frequently present in the mornings tasking the morning staff with significant cleaning lists. It may be beneficial for this manager to also work evening shifts and observe operations to ensure consistency in cleanliness and accountability across all shifts. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for all members, as maintaining a clean and sanitary environment is essential since there are so many gyms in Simi Valley. PF is a modest and affordable fitness gym. It has all the weights, medicine balls and cardio machines. It is spacious, has good vibe and well lit. Staff were nice. Parking was easy. I would not recommend this Planet Fitness. The customer service and professionalism were very disappointing. On multiple visits, I saw the manager watching TikTok videos and showing them to employees while everyone laughed at the front desk instead of helping members. Employees were often leaning around the counter, wearing headphones, ignoring questions, and leaving overflowing trash cans untouched. The bathrooms and showers were also frequently dirty and had a strong odor. I hope the owner and upper management do a better job hiring, training, and holding employees accountable. This gym is just ok, not good, not bad. The good is that you have all the weights and machines you will need, except a bench press, but even a serious weight lifter can make some gains here. The weights are racked correctly in numerical order as well and the staff is friendly. The bad is every summer they have a promo that allows teens to workout for free which overcrowds it and a lot of them act up or are on their phones taking up machines. Also, and mostly, this gym has a lot of HVAC issues, sometimes it works, sometimes only half the room works, sometimes the fans don't work. Maintenance issues happen, but when it goes on for several months it's something you could have prevented. If you are used to using the hand sanitizing stations, they aren't filled up half the time. However the disinfectant spray and paper towels are, so that's good. But hey, $15, you get what you pay for. I'd say join it and see if you like it, not a lot to lose. read more

Machines are nice and seem fairly new. I usually come late at night because I don't like having to wait for a machine which I agree with others who say that people camp out on the machines sometimes and that is highly annoying. Not really anyone's fault but the oblivious and self centered people doing it, but if the staff kept a closer eye on people doing that maybe they could step in and remind them that other people might want to use the equipment and maybe they can go on instagram elsewhere. Just a suggestion. But the real reason I'm giving this two stars (almost want to give it 1 star but I'm trying to be as nice about this as I can be)...one night at about 1am, I checked in and went straight to the locker room to get prepped for my workout and when I went to the handicapped stall to use the restroom, there was vomit ALL OVER the freaking toilet. Like I mean someone projectile vomitted blueberry smoothie like there was no tomorrow in there. So I kindly went into a different stall and decided to tell the two male staff members at the front about it so they could clean it up (it stunk too, the whole bathroom reeked of puke) and when I told them, they both looked at me like I was crazy and kind of just shrugged and didn't even say anything to me about it. No "thanks we'll clean it up" ....nothing but blank stares. So I continued my workout and noticed that not once did they go in there to rectify the issue. I was there for over an hour. My last complaint is that the same night, for whatever reason my account said I had an overdue payment which I took care of but it takes a while for their system to catch up with the app so it said I couldn't use any of my black card perks. The staff has a way to bypass that if they can see you have paid and I've had no problem using the black card amenities before. Well I guess you can't use the tanning unless your account says so since it's "catered to you specifically" so I wasn't too upset about that, but I was wondering if the total body enhancement would still work if my account was in limbo. So I went to ask the gentleman at the front desk who had JUST helped me if it was possible to do the TBE and instead of just helping me and saying yes or no, he looks at me and then at the other guy working and says "I'm on lunch" while he's behind the counter scrolling through his phone. This was incredibly rude and unprofessional and if you are on your break, you should absolutely not be behind the counter. I've also seen these two at night sitting around the free weights shooting the shit with each other and a couple of their buddies while I was waiting to have someone come tell me which massage chair was mine. Pretty annoying and not good customer service. I found the daytime crew to be a lot nicer and more helpful. The Thousand Oaks location seems to be a much better spot all around. Friendly staff who acknowledge your existence and seem to be capable of smiling and behaving in a courteous and pleasant manner. Perhaps they can train the Simi gym staff to do the same. read more

I understand its policy, but I would at least like a warning instead of sending me home which is 20 minutes away. I am a black member so I can use my membership while traveling and I love access to the massage chairs after my workout. My only complaint is people that use the circuit area for regular workouts and just sit on a machine rather than following the light system for the 30 min workout it is meant for. read more

I came here on a guest trial pass. Planet fitness is usually lower on my gym rankings, but this one is really new and nice. The staff is friendly. Everything is clean and there are multiple TVs all around. The black membership gets you perks like great massage chairs as well as water massage. There's also tanning and some sort of skin infusion machine that I don't understand but seems super high-tech. This is a good new gym in Simi. read more

I belong to the planet fitness in Ventura, however, I was in Simi Valley for a month. So I went to the Simi Valley planet fitness. It is no comparison to the one in Ventura. They made me go through a nine point check to use the tanning equipment. It is dirty and old and the people that work there have attitudes like I was wasting their time and they were too busy to serve me very disappointed in the Simi Valley planet fitness will never go back. read more

In the beginning, I would've rated this gym a 5/5. Let me explain. The facility would always be the redeeming factor for me. Although this location isn't terribly big, the gym itself keeps a tidy upkeep and I can praise them for that, constantly. That's one reason why I keep my reviews positive for this location. I've had my membership for quite some time. In the beginning, the staff were all amazing and that made me so motivated to come. I became on and off for a while due to work, but in the last two weeks, I've come daily. I am trying to accomplish 75 day hard. Beside the point, the staff have become seemingly more and more judgmental. They're not as sociable as they use to be, and that's a large part of the reason why I took the starts off. Otherwise, the only other thing I would deflect on would be the showers. For the most part, they've kept their showers clean, and their changing rooms will have the occasional hair ball that other women have left, or just other women leaving tags of clothes behind. read more

If you have a plan to work out on any day, then this is not the place for you. There are crowds of people camping on every machine. And if you look forward to getting under a barbell, well, you better like Smith machines - but even if you do, good luck finding one that's open. I legitimately walked in, took a lap, and walked out today, then went to my car and canceled my membership. Being so close to my home, I was hoping that this would work for my wife and I. This place is extremely dirty! The restrooms are gross. I even went to talk to the girl in the front desk Wednesday night at 8pm and while she was talking to her buddy's I said excuse me. You get what you pay for. Pros: they have machines. Cons: I've been a member for 1.5 years and I hear on a monthly basis that the audio doesn't work on some TVs (doesn't work on any of them). Also you're not allowed to use weights in the back room if there's a "class' (usually only1-2 people). BUT they won't do anything about the kids who sit texting their friends or watching videos for 5 minutes between each rep, instead actually using the machine). And I dare you to be able to hear your own music over theirs unless you have noise canceling headphones. In response to the PF response, I have approached management on multiple occasions over the last 6 months; that's why I gave up and wrote a review. read more

2803 Cochran St Simi Valley, CA 93065 United States ...Love the gym... most machines are available... staff is friendly. However, the men's bathroom is filthy. I got athletes foot from the shower and the urinals look like they've never been cleaned.. I mean there is dust on top and a pool of urine all over the floor. I've been looking at the same grime and urine floor pattern for over a month. This place needs a good clean up crew. Every day. Also, people need to clean their machines after use. I see all these dudes walking around with big chests and biceps with bird legs, looking in the mirrors sweating all over the machines and walking away like they are too good to clean their filth. The staff needs to enforce a better cleanliness process and call people out for not cleaning up after themselves. They do a great job of providing spray and paper towels to do so.. But, don't enforce the practice of making people clean up their sweat. It's pretty simple, "hi enjoying your workout... great! Can you please clean up your machine after use?? Great. Thank you and enjoy your workout!" Easy. Also, the floors of the tanning booths and total wellness machines look like a pubic hair farm. A little training for the kids running the place would go a long way to better health. Or simply hire a real cleanup crew. Stay healthy! ... Now after my post I get a response from the "business manager" saying speak to the staff when I get to the gym... I shouldn't have to... these are basics. As a business manager you should call your staff and get them to actually do their jobs and not make the patrons embarrass themselves having to talk about urine and pubic hair on the floor... I pay for a "black card" membership and I'm simply saying clean your facility... I waited a month to post this to see if they would do it on their own... well, the same speck of grime on the urinal has been there for over 5 weeks now... also, urine all over the floor transfers to people's shoes and goes right into the gym and on the machines! Gross!! A bathroom check and wet mop with bleach should happen at least on the hour. I guess I have to run the gym and pay for the privilege as well. I split my time between 2 Simi gyms, and PF is by far the friendlier, cleaner, and better-maintained of the 2. The friendliness of the staff extends to the clients- I've made more friends at PF in 3 months than I have at the other gym in 16 years. Seriously. PF is not a "bro" gym- it's accessible to all levels, and there's no sense of competition. Clients exchange workout ideas and encouragement- it's pretty cool. There's a ton of cardio equipment, ample machines, and specialty areas (like their 30 minute workout area). There are enough dumbbells to get the job done. The only thing PF is lacking is barbells, which I use primarily for chest exercises- one of the reasons I maintain the other membership (both gyms combined cost me less than some other local gyms alone). read more

The gym is smaller than most . Me and my bf went many times with the bring a guest option which seemed great. But when it came to trying to cancel we were yanked around about 6 different times from all their employees. When my bf arrived before the month was over to cancel for the next month he was told he can't cancel and to wait for the 18th to cancel and keep his present month. He wanted to cancel because of this new incentive where they let a whole bunch of teenagers on summer break come in for free . So far he's noticed they just stay on the machines and there is never any available to actually use. I wouldn't recommend this place for me, my bf or parents. People who lie and use tricks to keep someone aren't who I want to be acquainted with. read more

I gave a 5 star review six months ago but I am giving a new review. The gym is great but I have the black card membership and like to use the hydro massage machine after my workout. It is so hot and stuffy back there all the time and smells musty. They need to add some large fans and also change the water. I have asked them several times to talk to the regional manager who comes to the gym sometimes and acts like he isn't in charge so he won't have to deal with the customers. I have been to other PF in the SoCal area, and this is the least favorite one. I went there in the early afternoon and there's nobody in the woman's locker room besides me. I placed a bottled water in front of the mirror, and this female employee in her 70's asked me in a harsh voice if that's mine. I know she wanted to wipe down where I placed my water, but it wasn't what she said but how she said. Like I mentioned there's nobody else besides me so it's kind of obvious that water belongs to me, and why she comes in to the locker room and as soon as she walks in, she decides to clean where I placed my water. She can start with elsewhere. I was angry because she's obviously mean and tried to mess with me. I've been to many other PF and I've never seen such an old person works there. It's not I'm discriminating about her age, but her attitude sucks! Other PF, the employees are always young and fit and are more courtesy. It's about 12am and I'm in need of a massage, so I decided to sign up online and was able to immediately use the amenities. I usually go to a different gym that closes at 11, so it feels like such a luxury to walk into a gym at any hour of the night. I talked with Francisco who was so kind and showed me how to use the Total Body Enhancement and the other cool stuff you get with the Black Card Membership.
