I had already been through prolotherapy and PRP injections -- the supposed gold standard for EDS -- and was still not healing. Dr. McDougall didn't give up on me or accept the plateau as the answer. She researched paired regenerative therapy and brought a peer-reviewed study to our appointment showing statistically significant success rates for shockwave combined with PRP in EDS patients. We built a treatment plan together, and she administered five of my six shockwave sessions herself. The results were confirmed by ultrasound: the tendon reattached to the muscle at two separate points. My PRP specialist was dumbfounded.
