Really disappointed about how they are dealing with covid :/ during december i was taking lessons here and there were very minimal people there. masks were not required, but i still felt safe because not many people were there. went last friday and they were clearly not limiting people whatsoever. the rink was PACKED with people not wearing masks. AND the staff on the rink weren't wearing them either. hopefully lessons open back up soon because i liked having a somewhat empty rink that i actually felt safe in :( read more

First off, I think some etiquette enforcement needs to be put in place. 1. If you want to exit the rink, you DO NOT cut diagonally across the floor (in front of skaters). 2. You DO NOT stop in the middle of the rink to chat with your buds. 3. If it's Backwards skate, then for crying out loud, skate backwards or get off the floor. 4. Slower skaters SHOULD skate on the inside. That being said, last night might be the last time I go. Too many people on too small a rink for too high a price. I couldn't get any momentum going because of slow skaters (some holding hands to make matters worse) and the overall congestion. This wouldn't be an (or as much of an) issue on a bigger rink. And yes, the peanut shape on one side on such a small rink is very...unfortunate. I can't help but wonder if the good skaters are going to get tired of dealing with the slow/beginner skaters while the beginner/intermediate skaters get tired of having the fast/advanced (and occasional showboaters) zip in front of them. End result? People stop going. Still okay for the occasional visit but I don't see myself going regularly. Regardless, I predict more injuries occurring. And adding alcohol to the mix? A recipe for disaster (aka lawsuit) if you ask me. read more

This place is nice "looking", however the people that work there are kinda rude! They had some kid ( had to be 8-10 yrs old) telling adults what to do! He must of been the owners son. But I think that this kid needs to have a little more respect for adults! Also my daughter was skating and she fell. So I was letting her catch her balance by standing by the wall and jackass that works there told us to move! We were standing there for only a min. How stupid! I feel if someone need to catch their balance they should be able to without someone telling them to move! I mean for how much they charge the employee should be a little more respectful! It is quite obvious that most of the positive reviews are from people who have never been to a good skating rink. I've worked in a few skating rinks in my day, from skate guard to program manager, and never have I seen such an oddly designed place. As a roller rink this place is just ok. I think its geared more towards the pre-teen crowd as this place is not designed very well. NEVER have I seen a skating rink with such a poorly laid out skating floor. The fact that the DJ booth is in the middle of the skating floor is a big minus, not to mention the building support poles also being in the middle of the rink. Then, there is an odd inner curve around the edge along the back wall that forces you to "merge" a bit in order to keep from tripping (which we witnessed often in one evening). Also, its a very large building with a lot of real estate for games and a snack bar, which frankly is wasted space when it should have more area for the actual skating floor. I have been to converted bowling alleys that had more skating area. I wont even get in to the attitude some of the employees have, as that would take a few more paragraphs and I'm not reviewing them, I'm reviewing the rink. The only plus is they serve alcohol for the adults (which is a huge liability in itself, but that too is for another review). A few redesigns and this place could be an awesome skating rink. In its current layout, its not. *EDIT* Changed my rating to reflect the fact that the DJ booth has been moved and is no longer in the center of the skating floor. read more

You guys get 3 stars due to poor music videos. Girls shacking or twerk was not cool. This is a FAMILY PLACE! Food was horrible. I know its a skating rink but really you charged me a lot and I got not so good food. If any one reads this DO NOT EAT HERE! Just skate! Such a great place! I hadn't been rollerskating/rollerblading in YEARS! Brought my son for the first time and he enjoyed himself. Great fun for cheap! Can't wait to go back! After a little hiccup due to their admission policy, I have to admit, I'm hooked. I forgot how much I enjoyed roller skating. I was a bit reluctant at first because I cringe at entertainment places that are overpriced AND cater to teens, but once I got the skates on it was fun. The experience took me back to the many family fun nights at Skateland in Whittier. My kids had conflicting experiences, son hated the experience and after 5 minutes swore never to ask me to come again. My daughter fell like 5 times but kept getting up and by the end of the night wasn't holding on to the rails. She wants to come back next week. By the way this is a good workout and it's fun!!!! If 2.5 hours (6pm-8:30pm) ain't enough time to skate, you can pay $5 and stay from 9pm-1am. We had to leave, but looking forward to spending a whole night skating and listening to good music. Beware the smell of ass though!!!! By the way... Beer is $6!!!! Crazy!!!! They don't allow outside drinks or food, so get creative. ;) ADMISSION POLICY: They charge for every kid that enters, regardless if they skate or not (parents and grandparents are exempt). After 5 minutes my kid didn't want to skate, so I figured I might as well skate since I paid for 2 skaters already. The employee said I would have to pay for an additional skater if I wanted to skate. I explained, "I dont want to fuckin skate, but I will since i paid for 2 skaters!" Anyway, after a few exchanges, the manager allowed me to skate and gave me a free pass for our next visit. Good move on his part... He got a new customer! read more

went on presidents day weekend... it was hella packed. The place is so busy and so many people skating. The actual skate rink is pretty small. which kinda sucks. I felt like they could have eliminated some of the general walk area it was never crowded... also why is there a huge arcade and game area, chuck E cheese is right around the corner, who is paying to go in and then being like... oh im gonna go play these arcade games and exchange my tickets for a stuffed rhino... There's also 100 seats for the eating area... no one was even freakin eating there, maybe 2 people. POINT IS that they could have made all that other area WAY smaller and made the rink twice the size... When there's 1000 people crammed into a 100 square foot radius there's multiple falls, people dropping like flies, you bump into someone every 5 seconds as well. like random hands touching your shoulder/ butt/ legs Also it doesn't help when there's some couple that thinks they need to go 5 times as fast as the crowd and attempt go around everyone in the process because apparently they're just THAT GOOD Or the people that think it's fun to zig zag across the entire rink... what the heck? I can't even.. And then the group of 10 friends that are going 0.5 mph talking about how awesome it is that the mcrib at mcdonalds is back... stahp. it's kind of expensive Also on the "adult nights" why is it open till only 11... seems really early. Should stay open till at least 12 would prefer even later though. and they have alcohol too! As if the skating wasn't dangerous enough... lol. The music is good, the whole place looks pretty nice and has nice details. It's still fun even with all the people. The staff is friendly as well. Drove 40 minutes to come here and it was definitely worth it. Went to a Sunday session from 2-4:30. Plenty of time for the kids to be properly exhausted after skating. I was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was. Slightly perturbed at how long it took to pay and get skates (15 minutes total), but it didn't seem to bother the kids that it cut into their skate time. I loved the decor and though I didn't use it, appreciated that there is wifi available. I have my own skates and was thankful that it's slightly less if you bring your own. My oldest 2 rented in line skates, my youngest got regular skates. Plenty of entrance points and ample comfortable seating for viewing or taking a break. The music was a good level and a nice mix. My oldest son requested Queen and they played it. Totally kid appropriate music in my opinion but not the obnoxious stuff. My youngest who is 5 was skating for the first time, and he had as much fun as the 16 and 13 year old kids. My only true disappointment was the price for food and locker usage. 75c each time to open and close the locker is a bit of a rip off. Although I did see the snack bar was a nice set up and had plenty to offer, I suggested that we go elsewhere afterwards based on the prices. No cups for water, and bottled water was $2. Too much for a family to quench their thirst, but the water fountains were nice and cool, and didn't taste bad at all, so it wasn't a deal breaker coming here. Just wish prices were slightly less and our family would have eaten and bought drinks here, so I suppose that's money lost for the rink today and in the future from our family. The rink was nice and cool as we skated, but not so cold it was noticeable when we weren't. All in all, I would recomend this rink. I will be coming back. Would like to go to an adult night and see what that's like. A little nervous about the alcohol mixing with skating, so I'll be curious to see how that goes together. Frankly, I was surprised they served alcohol in a place that is more high risk with so many skaters. Anyway, I'm thankful skating is alive and well, and after our more local place closed, was happy to learn that there's a few thriving. read more

Best skating experience! Visited epic rollertainment for the first time and I must say I had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was great and everyone was amazing. I had one interaction tonight with a manager on duty that was absolutely wonderful, I had to go back and get her name. Nia was phenomenal and provided great customer service! Even though it was busy she went out of her way to be as attentive as possible and was a great help at getting me everything I needed. She was as kind as she was professional, this is the way all customer service should be, will defenitely be back. Great job Nia! read more

I've been roller skating here for a few years and it's just too crowded. I went skating for adult night with my friend on a Sunday night (I believe the last day of May) and I ended up being taken on a stretcher into an ambulance at around 10 something at night. The reason I got hurt was due to the how crowded it was, I got ran into and it caused me to fall and get hurt because there's literally no room to get through. Another thing is this place doesn't know how to let in skaters. They want the newer skaters to be inside of the rink when it's extremely hard to get in because there's too many people on the outside to get in. All in all this isn't really a place to bring your kids or to learn how to skate at. It's just not the right place to bring kids or young teenagers unless they're pros at skating. read more

I brought my daughter cupcakes and invited 2 friends to skate for her birthday. I paid for 7 people to skate which came to $84.00 and then ordered pizza and drinks which came to $47.00. They made me bring my cupcakes out to my car. Keep in mind I called a couple weeks in advance to verify I could bring the cupcakes and they didn't have a problem with it. So I ended up bringing them out to my car, a little upset, but after all they are just cupcakes. Then the 2 friends brought her a gift when they came in. Something I could not control. Im talking little gifts. Lotion and skittles in a gift bag. They went out of their way to hunt us down (the DJ) and tell us I could not have the 2 gift bags in their roller rink. That I had to take them out to my car. Really? I told them I would not do that, that I would just not open them and they said they would hold them behind the counter until we left or I could leave. They made a scene in front of my family and guest. I could not believe they did that. Long story short I did NOT bring my gifts out to the car. I had to cover them up with my jacket. Besides that, the skating was fun. Just don't bring cupcakes and make sure to tell ALL your family and friends not to bring anything that remotely looks like a gift or they will tell you to bring them out to your car. read more

We returned for a second go and had a much better time. They seem to have adjusted and now allowed the full skate time that we paid for. I paid for my kid to skate from 2-4. However you can chop 30 minutes out of that with their quite ripoff with ridiculous 10 minutes of adults only, 5 minutes of fast skaters only, 5 minutes of couples only, 5 minutes of specific genders only, 5 minutes of gameplay. If you like paying for 2 hours of something and getting cheated out of 30 minutes without an upfront disclaimer then go for it. Otherwise be informed that this is their common practice. read more

I really enjoy spending time with my family at this establishment. I have been to Epic Rollertainment at least 6 times since it has opened and I have seen the owners make a lot of positive changes. I really like the fact that there is something for everybody there. My husband even enjoys coming along with me and the kids. It is a great way to share the joy of skating with your family. The food there is great ( and reasonably priced) and they even have some adult beverages there for your pleasure ( I wouldn't recommend skating if you drink). The adult nights are great if you are not into dodging little ones. I think this is great source of entertainment and is cheaper than most other things around town such as bowling or even the movies. My niece who is 22 took my son who's 5 for his first time to Epic. When they got there it was very loud and the lady said that she would turn it down some. They got their skates on and went to the rink and he was holding his ears the whole time and started to cry. They were there a total of 20 minutes and he wanted to leave. My niece had the receipt and asked if she could get a refund because it was too loud in there for him and he was crying. They told her no. I could see if they had been there for longer than 20 even 30 minutes if they were longer than that. But the whole time he's crying because it's too loud. We have twins and took them to Epic tonight for the first of many trips. We were not skating tonight, instead we relaxed on the comfy sofas and utilized the free Wi-Fi and abundant outlets to plug our electronics in while the girls skated. There was NO charge for us to enter the building or to sit and watch the girls skate. The atmosphere was awesome, the floor awesome(based on the skaters opinion), the food was good and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive and the price$21 for two kids to skate for three hours which breaks down to $3.50 per hour per child was a fantastic deal. Quite comparable to the local jump zones and bowling. We give this place 8 thumbs way up and will be back! Anyone complaining about price is misinformed. It's a great value. read more

I absolutely love this place! I came to SD to visit my friend and coming all the way from Hawaii, we only have Ice Rinks there! I wish we had Roller rinks! The first time i went was on a Tuesday after 9 for adult night and it was uncrowded and music was really good! The second time i went was on a Friday and it was a little crowded but skating around was fun! I'd say it was 50 People so it wasn't extremely crowded! it was the perfect amount of people. I was looking for something fun to do outside of work and school and thought I'd giving roller skating a shot since my dad used to skate back in the day. Just got to say that this is the place to go - great for all ages - my dad often attends with me. All of the staff is wonderful, super friendly, and very accommodating. I go often and every time I'm amazed at the welcoming atmosphere, great music, and awesome skate guards that really go out of their way to help - especially the new skaters. No employees were wearing masks, or enforcing wearing one. None of the customers were wearing masks. It's a law in California to wear a mask or some type of face covering, the masks weren't even below their mouth their was just no masks to be seen.
