So I couldnt get summary of visit on what I had wrong or the names of found on my skin. Not happy with this facility. Was told each visit would cost more then last. I am a 74-year-old male. I had an appointment in November, my first visit to this clinic. I had a growth that I was concerned about. The asst. came in and instructed me that this would be upper body only. I was surprised because I have always had full-body checks before. Rachel came in and spent no more than 5 minutes, and acted like she could not get out fast enough. She did look at several concerns but said there were no issues. I was rushed and had no time for questions. In June, I visited another clinic (Not Epiphany) because a doctor asked if I had a spot looked at. When I told her of my experience, she asked if you tried to sell me Botox. The doctor did a full body check and found several issues that need to be treated, including some that are pre-cancerous. I see you are opening a clinic near my home on Paseo. I will not be using your practice. I feel the need to let your practice know of my dissatisfaction. read more

This entire company has treated me HORRIBLY!!! Fom the first provider Rachel WETTERING treating me like CRAP in the office visit INFECTING MY BACK TO THE POINT OF SENDING ME TO URGENT CARE, then her having the AUDACITY to call me and YELL at me that I had no idea what was going on in MY body. Then ME having to take super high doses, 2000 mg of antibiotics for 8 days then more another 7. Then I filed a grievance with my insurance which is going to an independent team of doctors. Then i complained to their corporate office and they CLAIMED they were doing the same. LIES! Theyy wanted to appease me by sending me for a free visit to one of their other offices. So I went. Krista was very nice. They set another appointment for 6 months. A few weeks later I had questions about how my cryosurgery was healing. After 3 phone calls spaced out to give them time to answer AND a message to patient portal, I realized I was being GHOSTED! So I contacted corporate again! Only then did they SAY they would have the supervisor of the new office call me. GHOSTED AGAIN! I called corporate and told them they need to compensate me ! I live with PTSD from abuse trauma and this provider made me have to suffer even more! I cannot afford an attorney or they would be in court already and paying dearly. And the lesion on my back? Took two months to heal from the size of an infected 50 cent piece. When the scan came off? It was NECROTIC SKIN!!!! LEATHER THICK DARK AND HARD!!! NO WONDER IT HAD BEEN HURTING DEEP INTO MY MUSCLE! My brother and I showed up for appointments to see Dr. Chiu on a Sunday (weird day, I know), but she decided to take the day off and no one had the courtesy to call us to cancel our visits. That's not surprising given what others have written about the absence of phone communications from the office staff, which beyond the failure to notify of us that the doctor decided to take the day off we've experienced on two other occasions when we've left voice mails during business hours but didn't get callbacks. Furthermore, no one called to remind us of any of our appointments as is standard practice for all other medical providers. All of which is to say that if you want to get in touch with or hear from anyone in this practice, forget it. You're more likely to witness the second coming than to have anyone pick up the phone or call. read more

I HAVE a referral, I had uploaded it in the portal, when the scheduler couldn't find it I was looking right at it offered to provide the referral number, approval, ICD-10 code, approved number of visits...useless. The medical staff is terrific. However, if you need to call them for anything, they do not answer the phone, ever. If you have a biopsy and you miss their first phone call about it, when you call back they do not answer the phone, ever. We had to drive to their office to get the result. Another time, there was an error in a prescription they ordered so our insurance company rejected it. I am still trying to get this corrected so I can get the prescription filled. I can't get anyone to answer the phone there and they haven't responded to a message on the patient portal. read more

The CNP I saw, David Seiter, shared good information and explained what to keep an eye out for, and the tech/medical aide was helpful as well. I was a patient of Dr. Chapman before he retired. He was the best and always took care of everything skin related. Now, the dermatologists here won't do anything except things related to skin cancer. No extractions. No mole removals. I couldn't even get an appointment for a rash within a decent amount of time. It's great that they're focused on a skin cancer. But they really shouldn't be called "dermatologists" if they don't address other things related to the skin. read more

I made an appointment at Epiphany after my son became concerned about an ugly mole on the side of my knee. Is there a such thing as a pretty mole? I think not. Whether in reference to the animal or the ugly skin blemish they're never attractive. In consideration and anticipation of my upcoming appointment I started checking out the rest of my mole friends. My husband pointed out a fairly large mole on the side of my hip that he wanted me to add to the list. I checked in for my appointment with Lisa Long and everything went pretty smooth and easy. I expressed my concerns and she checked out my moles in question as well as my back and the back of my neck. Places I would never be able to view on my own. Ironically she was NOT concerned at all about the mole on my knee BUT the mole on my hip needed to be removed and sent in for review. I was given a shot to numb me and I didn't feel a thing as Lisa Long's assistant dug/scraped/chopped off the mole. Four days later they called me with the great news that the mole was Benign. Whew! The only reminder I have is the large crater left in my hip where the shuttle had once landed. read more

I have seen Dr Lisa Long 3 times and felt her advice and demeanor were wonderful at first. The last time she rushed through the appt, froze a few things on my face, now has left town, moved to Colorado! Or so her staff says. I think her staff is the problem. She has not trained them well. I wanted a follow up appointment since one of skin problems she removed grew back to be even larger. They wouldn't call me back and wouldn't let me see another dermatologist. I called many times, finally had to find another dermatologist to remove the skin problem. I would not go back to this clinic, they are obviously overworked and cannot find anyone to replace Dr Long. Their staff is completely unhelpful. My husband won't go back either, fearing the same treatment in the future. read more

I am reviewing Epiphany Dermatology on Kaseman in Albuquerque. I have been to this office four times, I think. I am used to seeing a dermatologist every six months because I have a long history of skin pre-cancers and cancers. When I moved to ABQ 2 years ago, I chose Epiphany for my dermatology needs. Now I am dropping them like a hot potato. The first problems they caused me were billing problems. I went for my appt., handed the employee my insurance card, saw Shana, left. Months later, I start getting bills I should not have gotten for incorrect amounts. It took many months and 11 phone calls to figure out that the employee did not submit/enter my ins. info correctly, therefore I had to spend a great deal of my time and energy to straighten out the mess she created and settle my bill correctly. The last time I went in was November 23, 2020. At that visit, I was informed that I had been given a prescription for a face cream. But that was not true. When I said I had no recollection of getting that Rx, they just ignored the whole subject. Also at that visit, two biopsies were taken and sent to pathology. Today is January 19th and I have no results. TWO MONTHS HAVE PASSED. Over the past many weeks, I have called, asking for my results to be mailed to me along with the Rx I needed. Once I talked to someone who said she would mail them to me. NEVER HAPPENED. The rest of the time, no one answered the phone , or answered messages. THIS IS A MEDICAL OFFICE! There is an option to leave a message. MAILBOX IS FULL. I try again. This time I'm allowed to leave a message, which I do, but never get a response. Call again and talk with someone. I explain calmly all the frustration of not being able to get hold of them and for not getting biopsy results. Instead of sympathizing and offering to solve the problem, the girl got defensive..."it wasn't my fault"......."I have no control over the others"......"the message was sent to the provider" ...What is she saying? I'm the patient. What is she talking about? How do I get my biopsy results and the Rx? Do I have to get a lawyer just to find out if I have rampant melanoma? As soon as I get what I need, and what I have already paid for, I will find another dermatology provider. These guys are downright dangerous! read more

Oh...how I hate to write bad reviews but I just feel like people need to know that this isn't a great place to go if you are looking for medical advice and treatment when it comes to your skin. I went here for years when it was owned by Dr. Chapman and he was the lead dermatologist. I LOVED Dr, Chapman bc he always looked at my skin carefully --like spent 15 minutes looking under a light at every mole. He wasn't interested in selling me the fountain of youth but rather in protecting me from cancer. I guess he sold his practice. The name has changed and so has the quality of care. Here is the thing--I grew up in NM and burned the crap out of my skin when I was a teenager. I have fair skin and a red headed father. Needless to say, I hate going to the dermatologist bc I always get moles removed. So, when I went there under the new management, I was surprised that they had zero info from my medical history, the PA had not reviewed anything nor did he take the time to ask me about my concerns. He did glance over my body in a quick 2-3 minutes and when I asked about checking my scalp, he said that they don't do that. Hmmm last time I checked, the sun does not discriminate on which part of the body it hits with its Dangerous rays. He told me I was just fine--Well... maybe I am--I hope I am. Needless to say, I am not confident and I think others should be cautious. read more

My first experience with them was great, the receptionists on the phone were very kind and happy to help me. The office itself was nice and clean and everyone was very nice in person too. For my particular condition I was aware I would most likely have to come back for a second appointment after a consultation rather than having it done the same day, which was fine. The product I needed they didn't have in the office at the time anyway. I was very pleased with my care at the time and how nice and informative the doctor and assistant were. I was told that my insurance needed to approve the procedure, but my particular insurance would deny it and more follow up paperwork would need to be done by the doctor in order for it to finally get approval. I was told it would only be a few weeks at most, maybe a month. I clarified if I needed to do any paperwork or follow up with the office at any point during the process of the insurance approval. I was told I didn't need to, and that they would call and schedule me for a second appointment when ready. Well, weeks passed and I never got a call. I called the office myself and was put through to the doctor or assistant's voice mail about 3-4 times, leaving multiple messages and never getting called back. Then there was a problem with my pharmacy in which they notified the dermatologist office, and the dermatologist office never contacted me to fix it and switch my pharmacy location. It has been about 3 months since that first appointment, and two months since my last calls. They never contacted me after all of that about insurance approval or a second appointment. I am extremely disappointed because I had such a great experience with them during my first appointment, then it all went down the drain. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had in healthcare. I went in on Tuesday morning and was told I have a contagious skin infection. They prescribed a med and never sent it to the pharmacy! I called the Kaseman clinic dozens of times and they never picked up. I ended up calling a different location and one of the secretaries from the other clinic sent in the prescription after I had waited 2 days. I took the prescription and it made me very sick and I had to stop it. Called the clinic again and left voice messages that I need a different medication and I also need help with the side effects of this drug, and again no one picked up or returned my messages. So I called the other location and the secretary there was again helpful and left a message to the nurse of my original physician assistant at Kaseman. They NEVER contacted me about the prescription, the side effects or a new treatment. Between Tuesday morning and Friday afternoon, I left multiple voice mails and begged them to help me and they absolutely ignored me. Needless to say I'm never coming back to Epiphany dermatology and I would not recommend them. read more

My wonderful dermatologist returned to red and medical records were supposed to be transferred to this medical group. When making the appointment I was told they had my records. When I got there, during precursor to exam I was told that they did not. My appointment times were confused. I did not see a dr., but a nurse practitioner, who I wasn't disappointed with, however, I noticed dr, names who had been practicing who had been practicing longer than my retired dr. As a new patient I should have been sent directions to location, and since they as apparently don't have my records there is no reason for me to return. read more

Their prices are very fair, the staff really seems to care and take an interest in what is going on. While I was able to be seen within 2 weeks of calling the level of professionalism & care was concerning. I was scheduled for an 8:30a appt yet my paperwork showed 8:45a. I was already 15 minutes early to the appointment resulting in a 40 + minute wait as the doctor was late. I was there for an all over cancer scan & asked to undress. They offer no gown but rather a paper sheet to cover up. I asked for a gown and was told this office doesn't offer gowns. I asked for two papers sheets to use. Nurse leaves & before I could undress the door opens with the nurse & Dr Harville. I quickly jump on the table removing my socks. My scan was not extensive & very quick. I was counselled longer to use sunscreen to avoid age spots. The door opens again & someone else walks into the room without explanation. Remember I'm covered with a paper sheet. I ask why so many needed to be in the room and I'm told, she's in training. I stated I didn't want more than necessary in the room & she left swinging the door once again wide open. Then I address a mole on my scalp that Dr Harville saw 6 most earlier. it's viewed and I'm told " I'm going to shave the area to get a better look. It's sill the same size & all is ok." When the appointment is ending Dr Harville opens the door while still encouraging the sunscreen .... Hey doc, I'm still nude!! After he leaves I look on the counter to see a disposable Bic blue razor on the counter which was used to shave my eraser sized mole area. Are you kidding me. There are tools for this!!! What a horrific experience & I'd strongly discourage anyone from this office. read more

Dr Harville clearly did not read all the papers i filled out prior to the appt. and so did not know that i am in the medical field. This made him sound patronizing. He kept recommending things i had done already rather than asking my history. The 10 min in the room with him resolved nothing unfortunately. read more

My recent experience at Epiphany Dermatology was not up to that standard or to a minimum acceptable standard. The doctor was curt to the point of rudeness and there were several other people in the room who appeared to be in training but no one informed me of this. I was sorry to hear of the unfortunate experience another reviewer had here. I have only been to Epiphany once, after a Mohs surgery for skin cancer at another office. Dr. Icken checked all of my skin carefully, and if I remember correctly he did check my scalp as well. I was feeling very vulnerable after being traumatized during the surgery at the other place, but Dr. Icken reassured me and helped me to feel comfortable and well taken care of. In July, 2022, I saw a PA at Epiphany Dermatology on Kaseman Ct. for skin spots and a growth on one ear. The initial appointment was easy to make, but had to wait 2 months. Same everywhere. The PA was very good. She froze a large dark spot on my face, examined all the others, and took a sample off my ear for a biopsy. Then things fell apart. Supposed to receive results from the biopsy in a week. After 3 weeks of calling (never an answer and unable to leave a message) I went to the office (20 mile drive) and asked for a copy of the results. Was told a prescription was ordered for me. Again a couple of weeks of phone calls and left messages, because the prescription hadn't been ordered. Finally spoke with someone who promised to place the order right away. Didn't happen. Again on the phone. Turns out the doctor had never authorized the prescription. More waiting. The PA was good. Support from the office has been really poor. A 2 rating is generous. read more

If you want a quick in and out experience with a minimum of inquiry, this is the place for you. It would probably help if you don't have a boring condition. Plus, the doctor lets the patient decide on the type of medicine: stronger, weaker, cream, ointment. Whoops, you have to take ointment, no creams allowed.
