Finally finished my Groupon of 2 facials for a discounted price today. 5 stars for Jackie! Her place is very welcoming and very very clean. She's very knowledgeable of everything I had questions about. I was skeptical at first since it was Groupon but I recently started developing very bad adult cystic acne during the month of August and September and finally at my wits end I came across skinnovate on Groupon looking for a reasonable price for facials and thought I'd give it a shot. Glad I did!! During the first appt I told her some details as to why I thought it might be diet related rather than hormonal and she agreed with professional advice that it may be just something I was allergic to that I was consuming. First facial was not comfortable it was quite painful to be completely honest BUT I was also very much broken out with deep cystic pimples so I wasn't expecting a comfortable relaxing cucumber Hollywood tv facial. For three weeks after the initial facial was complete I did change what I thought maybe what I was allergic to that I was eating and my face started clearing up. Not entirely sure still if it was the facial or the diet change that helped but I'd like to believe it was both. :) today I had my second facial and it was much more pleasant. Not entirely comfortable but definitely much much more bearable. I left feeling refreshed and more confident than I had the first day I walked in. I had a very positive first experience at skinnovate , but my second visit has been problematic. I write this for those thinking of lactic peel. I have never had sensitive skin, breakout problems, or reaction to any lotion, cream etc. but the lactic peel left me with much more than just flaky skin. My entire chin area looked like severe abrasions/rug burn, and I had very red sores along my nose. This started day 2, and lasted thru day 5. I am 10 days out and I still have red large patches on my chin. To Jacqueline credit she did invite me back when i notified her, but i didnt go as I believe only time to heal and the vitamin E oil and mild serums I had would help. If you are thinking about a peel, just realize that it may take longer than 2-3 days before you are presentable. No make-up or concealer could cover my sores. read more
