Even though it is extremely hot in Oakhurst, the venue, being in a wooded forest, is a very comfortable temperature, not too hot and you don't need a jacket at all, even at night. It is a bit of a pain to get to though - you have to drive up a winding mountain for about 20 minutes coming from Oakhurst so if you are planning on drinking at the event, make sure you either have a DD because coming back down that same road at night with no street lights and while under the influence can be dangerous. The venue itself was a bit confusing for us to navigate. We had to ask people passing by for directions on where to go but we eventually got to where we needed. It is also quite dusty so be prepared to have your shoes and the bottom of your outfits covered with dirt. And being up in the middle of a mountain, be prepared for no/poor reception.

Great Service and Perfect Base Camp for Yosemite…read more For our first memorable trip to Yosemite, staying at Rosenberg's Creekside Cabin via The Redwoods in Wawona was a fantastic choice. The location is ideal--tucked into a quiet little community about 4 miles inside the park gates. Driving in, you pass a local school and a handy little market, and the main registration office even has EV charging available if you need a plug. The customer service here is what really earned the 5 stars. I booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards, which apparently uses a confusing third-party system. When I called ahead to ask about adding our small dog to the reservation, the front desk told me they saw the booking, but it was under a completely different name. I semi-panicked thinking we were double-booked. I left my info with Sharon at the desk and called Chase, who assured me everything was fine but couldn't explain the naming mismatch. When I called Sharon back, she was incredibly reassuring. She explained that the name on our booking had actually been used three times before for third-party reservations. Once we got that sorted out and I remembered why I called in the first place, Sharon was incredibly sweet and told me, "Bring your pet and do not worry about it." That kind of flexibility and peace of mind is priceless when you're traveling. As for the cabin itself, everything was smooth and uneventful. It's essentially a spacious 3-bedroom home setup with all the modern comforts you'd expect from a high-end Airbnb--strong Wi-Fi, ice-cold A/C, a dishwasher, and a full washer and dryer. The kitchen was completely stocked with all the basic pots, pans, and utensils you need to cook your own meals after a long day of hiking. Location-wise, it's about a 40-minute drive down into the lower valley. The drive itself is spectacular--once you pop through Tunnel View, the landscape completely opens up. The road loops through the valley floor as a one-way, giving you front-row views of Bridalveil Fall, the Yosemite Falls trail, and El Capitan Meadow. Having a fully equipped, dog-friendly home base inside the park boundaries made our first Yosemite trip incredibly comfortable. Huge thanks to Sharon and the team for turning a potential reservation headache into a great stay!

Who knew there was a little town inside Yosemite National Park where you can find cabins to rent?…read more Turns out, The Redwoods in Yosemite is a property management company that handles rentals of approximately 120 different cabins throughout the small town of Wawona in southern Yosemite. Over the Labor Day holiday we had a neat experience with Cabin 53. It had all of the basics that you could need and was cute and clean, and had decking all around. It was surrounded by a few other cabins and some nice pine trees. Staff from the Redwoods were friendly, accommodating, and responsive. There were many different sizes and types of cabins available, so both small and large groups can be accommodated. Unfortunately our cabin had a couple minor issues which couldn't be resolved, though they did try. The Redwoods community is located a short distance off the 41 in South Yosemite. It was still about 45 minutes to the main valley area, but it also had lots of neat things nearby as well. Still better than many options outside the park. Value was decent and we didn't feel like we were overcharged. This is a great option if you are looking for something a bit different to add that rustic cabin stay to your Yosemite trip.

First timer and will be a life-long visitor from now on!…read more SERVICE: Amazing! Super welcoming staff and accommodating. We ended up extending our stay and took care of it right away. I was about to cancel our reservation due to the recent snow/winter storm and even with chains we were worried about becoming stranded but they were kind enough to offer a reschedule due to the promo being non cancellable. Glad we stuck through the new reservation! Communication was very easy; either through messages or phone call and our needs were met quickly. Being a first timer in the resort and the area, they were very helpful with answering our questions about things to do or where to go. I can't say enough good things about their staff. Check in was a breeze with online and at registration, so was check out. AMENITIES: Granted we went during winter months and right after a snowstorm so we really weren't able to use the amenities such as the pool or hot tub but we were able to walk around and it was open. The Pines market is very convenient with all our needs as well as the other shops and stores for snacks or different foods. Parking was easy at the registration although they might need to repaint some of the numbers or lines in front of the chalets but other than that, no issues with parking at all. ROOM/ACCOMMODATION: We reserved a 2 queens chalet with lakeside view. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by the electric pole/trees towards the lake but can still see some of the lake. It was still a beautiful view and the location of our chalet was close to the amenities. The chalet was clean and had no harsh cleaning solution smells. I loved that it came with a kitchenette and the balcony to do some outdoor grilling. The place was comfortable and homey. I wish there was just another toilet upstairs lol because there was 4 of us and we somehow managed to want to use the restroom at the same time multiple times LOL. But otherwise, everything was in working condition. As a suggestion, if they can change the bedroom tv to a smart tv because the cable channels kept glitching and channel options were slim also if possible just have it on the wall, creates more walking space because it was pretty tight walking to the beds lol. There's this little cubby space on the other side of the bathroom wall where a dresser (a tall one) could be put instead. Otherwise, I still very much loved our stay. We absolutely did not want to leave. I cannot wait to book this resort again. Highly recommend! Wonderful staff, amenities and accommodation! Close to yosemite and oakhurst. Very convenient.

The cabins freely a bit outdated, but the property is really clean and well kept, and the restaurants and bars were amazing. We had such a fun time. Huge shoutout to Kim from the security team, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and took great care of us, even shuttling us back and forth to the Pines Bar a few times. Honestly, every staff member we encountered was awesome. Short stay, great experience, and we'll definitely be back.

We were told by whoever finally responded to the security system, that the staff member was "probably on the way because they weren't calling him back". After waiting over 20 minutes, I finally received a call from someone named Parm, who said my appointment was actually scheduled on March 22nd. When I tried to explain to him that I had canceled that appointment and rescheduled for today, he immediately cut me off and told me that I needed to listen to him now. My fiance overhead his tone of voice and immediately told him that he wasn't to speak to me in that manner. Bottom line, things happen for a reason. We were unable to tour the venue as scheduled, treated very unprofessionally by the staff, and therefore decided to look elsewhere for our wedding venue.

He advertises himself as being Spotify friendly and we gave him playlists as such. Quick communicator and easy going. Kirk interrupted us multiple times throughout the night, following us (the couple) around as we re-entered to talk to us, take photos, and taking photos and videos of us and our guests. He was directed to step to the side for the dinner and instead was seated at a guest table with our friends. When it came time to do dances, he turned the music off and left to take a brief break - not a problem if the music had continued, but he left us without sound. During the reception songs lagged between playing, songs by the same artist were stacked instead of spread apart, and a song would start for a second, then stop and he would play something else. He was often wandered away from his station to socialize, which affected the music flow. He followed us and our guests around all night, asking what we wanted to hear, and would solicit requests from the crowd between songs despite my MULTIPLE prompts to continue with the playlist I made for this event. Many of our songs were missed which I ended up disappointed by but I didn't feel I should have to pull up the list to tell him what to play when I already made one. His wife arrived to pick him up at the end of the night, flashing her lights and shouting for him which my guests noticed. To top it off, after being irritated by the way services went, we had to pay him and he gave me the final total at the end of my wedding night since he didn't plan ahead for travel fees after multiple requests to get it finalized prior to. Overall disappointed and I wish I could let it go, but it did affect my night unfortunately and was a huge cost for a disappointing service.

I had a list of 'must plays' that I spent months and months putting together. Each song was really important to me and my husband, and something I couldn't imagine not having play at our wedding. During the dancing, however I was hearing lots of songs not on the list, which is fine, but most of the songs on our list did not get played. This was really disappointing. He played a couple songs twice, at which point I realized I needed to be reminding him of the songs on our list one-by-one, which was difficult to do in the moment because I didn't have the list on me and I really just wanted to be out on the dance floor not having to worry about anything. We also had put together some artists/genre guidelines for music to be played during dinner, and the music that end up getting played was not what we had suggested. He emailed us 2 days before the wedding asking for songs to be played during dinner, which was a little frustrating because I had already put together a list months before and sent to him with plenty of time. I didn't want to have to be worrying about this 2 days before the wedding when we were traveling and seeing family. Overall, if your music is really important to you and you are really excited about particular longs being played, I would have your list printed out so that there is no ambiguity on the day-of. If you just want some wedding classics played and aren't too particular about the selection, he will absolutely show up and do a great job and is great to be around. He is a great guy, just didn't seem to remember our list, and to be honest it will always disappoint me that those songs didn't get played.
