We did not have to cook our dinner over a campfire. So that was a plus. The food at Jackalope was pretty good. We ate there two nights. And in many instances, the people working there were absolutely lovely, helpful, and professional. One night there was a wait for dinner, and the woman at the front desk delivered an armful of games for us to play in the lobby while we waited. The place is a maze, and staff were very helpful the many times I lost my way. However, the quality of service was inconsistent and we found so many little frustrations throughout our time there that I don't think we will be coming back. For example: we did the climbing wall, which was fine. But nobody was cleaning out the helmets that kept being used by multiple kids. In one of the handouts, we read that there was Pickleball, but when we went to do Pickleball, there was no Pickleball. I went down to the spa and was excited to read about yoga classes, but then learned that there were no yoga classes. Beds were comfortable enough, but the hotel was kind of loud, with kids running up and down the hallway. That said, this is a decent enough place if you're looking for a hotel near Yosemite, there aren't that many to choose from.

It's places exactly like Tenaya Lodge that changed my mind. Tucked away in the fantastically-forested Fish Camp, Tenaya provides luxury and comfort in a way that is not at all ostentatious. Check-in can be hectic as two receptionists serve the entire place, but all the staff we encountered seem like they genuinely want to help, and the valets always got us our car in under five minutes. Our standard room is quite roomy and has a small balcony for watching birds and bats while we breathe in the warm mountain air. The pool situation is super, and every day we choose our own adventure between indoor and outdoor, both of which are heated. The indoor pool plays movies in the evenings, and I must say, Lego Batman exceeded expectations. There's even a climbing wall and an archery range, and my favorite, the nightly roasting of marshmallows around the fire pit. We had a blast. This resort has a whole vibe, the kind where kids can kid and adults can adult, and everyone can just enjoy themselves, mere miles from America's most beautiful national park.

I laughed, cried, cooked, bathed, relaxed. I got accustomed to the cursed noises that the radiator makes. Got used to the dull knives and the many light switches around the house. I went to bed after a long relaxing bath, and woke up to the trees as my first view. Get dressed, put on my boots, got firewood, and put on a crappy pot of coffee so that I'm prepared to do nothing for the day. Point is, this place has personality; however, you feel free to be yourself. This place is not perfect, but it is great! It sleeps 6 people. Only 2 miles away from the southern entrance of Yosemite. Perfect for family & friends to disconnect from the busy life of the Silicon Valley and go out into the woods. You'll have to bring your own food and drinks, but the kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of equipments - an amateur home cook's dream! I had absolutely the best time here and definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs to disconnect from the world for a brief moment and just breathe in some fresh air.

This was my first time to this city and Yosemite. So we said screw it and drive into Yosemite valley. It is about an hour drive on a road with a lot of tight turns. However it is beautiful! Now fast forward to around 7pm when we came back and there is a new person working the front desk. This man was super wonderful and helpful. He gave us all the info we needed about the area and the hotel. This one man turned out initial opinion on the hotel around. Now the room is not much. Super tiny room with one bed inside. However you can basically park right outside your room, which is super nice. A major downside, the walls are so thin that we could hear the conversations and the tv from the rooms next to us. One of the rooms didn't turn off their tv till 4-5am. A huge redeeming factor of this hotel is breakfast. It's included and is a good continental breakfast. The lady working it was super nice and welcoming. Also another nice thing with this hotel is we saw no kids there. So it was a ton of adventurous adults. Huge bonus. I still wouldn't stay here again but huge bonus. So overall, minus one lady the staff was incredible and so was the breakfast. However the rooms were horrible. The hardest part is in Fish Camp you have only a few options to choose from. So it is this hotel, Tenaya up the street, or going to another town. Personally I would recommend go to Tenaya or into Yosemite and stay at the Wawona Lodge. You will probably have a better experience.

The WiFi speeds are fair and the staff is nice. Made the booking through Booking.com (https://www.booking.com/s/11_6/tujean53 -- if you want a referral). I was in the Fish Camp area region for a weekend wedding and it was the cheapest room I could find on there. Messaged through the booking to ask if I would be able to check in early b/c the regular check-in time is 3 PM. I had a wedding at 4, so I just asked if I could arrive and get a room early and they obliged. One thing that I thought was strange was how the bathroom came with the usual soaps and stuff, but no toothpaste or toothbrush (probs just too used to international travel....). Their Key Drop off is literally a drop off. You just drop the key into a mailbox looking thing that's outside the office that you check-in at. Location: It's close to Tenaya Lodge ( which is where I was attending the wedding, so it worked out for me). It's a little strange b/c to get to WCML, you drive in through a narrow street and it's at the end of the street. It's about a 1 hr drive to Yosemite from here. Breakfast: I've included pictures, but for some reason I was expecting more. But they did an okay job for a small place. They had a lot of beverage options: tea, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and milk. Wish they had more "food" options other than the toast, waffles, sausage, and hard boiled eggs. I guess that's just because I'm just picky about the food I have for breakfast, but I really shouldn't be complaining b/c the breakfast is included in your stay with no additional cost. Parking: They take note of what car you have upon check-in, but there's ample parking available. You should be able to get the one right in front of your room. Room Condition: Room was fairly clean and the bathroom shower looked like it had been remodeled recently. The room I was in was fairly small (Queen bed), but I just needed a place to sleep for the night before heading to Yosemite the next day so it worked out. WiFi speeds: When I tested it, it was fair. I have T-Mobile and don't have cell reception around that area, so it was useful to route myself from there to Yosemite and it was good enough to download the area offline for future use. TIPS: If you have to check in early, feel free to send a message to WCML when you're making the booking on Booking.com and they'll let you know if they're able to accommodate. Don't forget to bring your ID and the CC that you used to book your stay.

We pushed…read moreEvergreen outside their comfort zone, hosting 175 people for 4 days, leveraging multiple locations and all of their infrastructure to make something special, and they delivered excellently. - The kitchen was phenomenal, delivering multiple meals across various cuisines at exceptional quality and handling multiple dietary restrictions. - They have a great library of activities and materials, including yoga mats, disc golf, and even s'mores, to help round out the weekend with fun activities for guests. - We did notice that the front desk can struggle with more complicated room block logistics, so set aside some additional time to work with them on that. Special callout to Micaela and the events team, who are very experienced in executing weddings and made us feel welcome and supported throughout. The whole weekend felt like an elevated summer camp with all our best friends and family. Overall, Evergreen is a historic, gorgeous place to throw a wedding and we wholeheartedly recommend it!

The Dining Hall is iconic and renovated, it's grand! Grand piano and piano player in both the Dining Hall and Lounge. Daily 4pm-5pm Tea and Cookie service (chocolate, oatmeal raisin, and one other I don't remember), perfect view to Half Dome, Breakfast Buffet ($32/person) and a separate Sunday buffet (with prime rib and Dungeness crab for $65/person). I thought the food was decent and some dishes were even very good. We also tried dinner at $95/person for a 5 course meal, and it was very good. The key is to get a good server at your table (ask the hostess to put you with the best one??). For example, while my family was having an excellent time, the table next to us for dinner had a horrible server, and the family stormed out of there without finishing their dinner since they waited 45 minutes and only had the first course brought out. However, our server Nancy was excellent. That's probably why there's so many bad reviews on Yelp, it really depends on the service you get and we got lucky with Nancy. Cons: The state of the rooms... very dated from the 60's? We stayed 3 nights at a premium room, and the good is that the AC worked great, and was spacious, but all the amenities were old. Shower pressure was slow , the sink basin was slow draining, the security box in the closet needed new batteries, our interior doors were hard to open/close (due to all the layers of paint over the years!). Would I return again? Yes... but will probably just find the lowest priced rooms since there's nothing special about their premium rooms and you'll feel ripped off. And if staying multiple nights, try Curry Village Pizza and the Mountain Room to switch things up since eating at the Ahwahnee is expensive. Tip: We got a 2 day advance notice that their elevators were down during our stay which was very annoying but then again, we're in Yosemite hiking and possibly climbing half dome and exercising, so I suppose it wasn't such a big deal climbing a few stairs, lol. Kindly ask for the manager at front desk before you check out and inquire if they can give you an adjustment to your bill for the inconvenience. Hope this review helps!

The Ahwahnee is huge and decorated with a Native American vibe. I loved all of the stone work and chandeliers. The massive stone fireplace in the lobby was awesome - I could picture how relaxing it must be in the Winter. We went to the bar and ordered drinks and appetizers while we waited for some of our group to come back from a hike - we ordered the Grilled Halloumi Cheese and Tomatoes, Albondigas and Potato Chips to share. For drinks, we ordered the Campfire Coffee, an Old Fashioned, a Lemon Drop and a mocktail for our daughter. Everything was really good - especially the Grilled Halloumi Cheese and Tomatoes. The Ahwahnee also had a gift shop and a candy store - plus conference room space. I obviously cannot comment on the rooms or check-in since we did not stay at The Ahwahnee, but all the staff that we encountered were friendly especially Tony at the bar who took great care of us. Overall, The Ahwahnee is a great place to check out and take in the views - they have a nice patio area with an amazing view of Half Dome. We'll be back again next time we're in Yosemite!

My son tried What the Fig. My wife had Piba-Co- N ada. I had the Magar- Bada. Fior apoetizers, we had the Wild Mushroom Flatbread, which was delicious. We also had a board of Californua Cheese, the Smoked Wings, and the Crispy Cauliflower, which appears just like Firecracker Shrimp. I loved the Bison Chilli, but I got so stuffed afterward and had to oack my Fish n Chip to go. King Salson with bok chop and mushroom was great. Cicopini, which has several seafood with garlic bread sticks in tomato sauce was impressive. Mushroom Regu and Beet Sakad were delicioysly perfect for vegans Our servers were super friendly on a busy night. We were so glad to find this place on our trip to Yosemite. Unfortunately, no one has been able to assist me when I call. I was told that I needed to email the restaurant manager, Rachel T., but she has not responded to any of my emails. I also left a voicemail, which has not been returned. What happened today was especially unacceptable. I called and spoke with an assistant manager named Sarah. I explained my frustration and asked whether she could assist me or connect me with the restaurant manager. I also explained that one of the reasons we chose this lodge was because it could accommodate our group and had an on-site restaurant, which is especially convenient when traveling with multiple families and children. Sarah's response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She laughed aloud and said, "You booked here for this restaurant, not to see Yosemite?" I then asked to speak with a manager because her response was completely inappropriate. Before the issue could be addressed, the call was disconnected. After nearly a month of unanswered emails, an unreturned voicemail, and this extraordinarily disrespectful interaction, I am extremely disappointed. Rush Creek Lodge urgently needs to retrain its managers and assistant managers on basic professionalism and customer service. This level of treatment is unacceptable.

Great location, just outside Yosemite National Park…read more Hotel is very old, from the style I would say it probably hasn't been updated since the late 70's, not very well kept, our room was very dirty, some furniture was broken, and sheets had holes. Had a pretty big issue when I stayed there, fortunately the staff was very nice, attentive, and accommodating. It has so much potential to be a great hotel given the location near the park entrance, and literally right next door to the Sugar Pine Railroad. It really needs a massive update. If it ever receives the renovations it desperately needs, I would definitely stay again.

I also loved that the air conditioning was already on when we arrived--it made the room feel welcoming and comfortable right away. If you're staying here, I definitely recommend checking out Oakhurst Grill & Whiskey Lounge 41. The steak was delicious! Pandori Express, the Indian restaurant nearby, was also excellent. The continental breakfast was another highlight. The ladies taking care of the breakfast area were absolutely amazing and truly went above and beyond. They worked hard to keep everything clean, organized, and stocked, and they were so attentive to the guests. They really deserve to be recognized for their excellent service. The gentleman who checked us in that morning was also very helpful and provided great customer and suggestions. I would definitely give him five stars as well. I do have a couple of constructive observations that I hope management will take in the spirit intended. In the afternoon, there was a young lady with long hair at the front desk. I didn't get her name, but unfortunately, her customer service came across as though she didn't really want to be there. When you speak with her, she answers the question, but there isn't much eye contact or engagement. There was also no greeting or goodbye. At one point during breakfast, I mentioned to her that the coffee was out. She acknowledged it, but when we were leaving, I checked the same pot and the coffee still had not been refilled. I think some additional customer-service training could be helpful. A simple hello, eye contact, a friendly attitude, and a goodbye can make a big difference in a guest's experience. One other small observation was the bottom of the shower. It had a somewhat dirty appearance. I understand this may be partly due to the type of material or finish used, and I'm not necessarily saying it wasn't cleaned. However, the material seems to hold onto a look that makes the shower floor appear dirty even when it may be clean. It would be great if the hotel could find a better cleaning solution or consider a different finish/material that would eliminate that appearance. Overall, though, I had a good experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and accommodating, and I would definitely come back. The breakfast staff and morning front-desk gentleman deserve special recognition for making our stay even better. I'm sharing the positives and the constructive feedback because I think this is a hotel with a lot going for it, and a few small improvements could make the guest experience even better. I would definitely recommend staying here! And the changes this would be a Five Star!

1/5 - Terrible Experience Due to Strong Pet Urine Odor…read more Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay. The first room we were given absolutely reeked of pet urine. The smell was so strong that we asked to be moved to another room, hoping it was just an issue with that particular room. Unfortunately, the second room also smelled like pet urine. At that point, we essentially spent the entire night breathing in the odor. Since the hotel windows do not open, there was no way to air out the room or get any fresh air. This is not a smell that can simply be covered up with air freshener or regular cleaning. When pet urine has soaked into carpeting, the carpet and potentially the padding underneath need to be properly treated or replaced. In my opinion, replacing the carpet with a hard-surface flooring such as plank flooring would make a significant difference, especially in a pet-friendly hotel. I understand that hotels allowing pets will occasionally have accidents in rooms, but guests should not be expected to stay in a room that smells strongly of urine--especially after already requesting a room change for the exact same issue. Overall, this was a terrible experience and made it extremely difficult to feel comfortable or enjoy our stay. Unfortunately, based on the condition of both rooms we were given, I would not recommend staying here unless the odor and flooring issues are properly addressed.
