We came to this venue to attend a wedding and it's a gorgeous forest setting. The ceremony itself…read morewas held in a small clearing in Heartwood forest and then you walk down a short distance where the cocktail hour/dinner area is set up. Even though it is extremely hot in Oakhurst, the venue, being in a wooded forest, is a very comfortable temperature, not too hot and you don't need a jacket at all, even at night. It is a bit of a pain to get to though - you have to drive up a winding mountain for about 20 minutes coming from Oakhurst so if you are planning on drinking at the event, make sure you either have a DD because coming back down that same road at night with no street lights and while under the influence can be dangerous. The venue itself was a bit confusing for us to navigate. We had to ask people passing by for directions on where to go but we eventually got to where we needed. It is also quite dusty so be prepared to have your shoes and the bottom of your outfits covered with dirt. And being up in the middle of a mountain, be prepared for no/poor reception.

STUNNING FAIRY TALE WEDDING. SO ROMANTIC!!…read more================================================================ My very good friend was married here a few weeks ago and it was the most beautiful and stunning wedding I have ever attended. This place is nestled in the beautiful woods outside Yosemite national park so you know already what to expect. This place is the perfect backdrop for a fairy tale wedding, the views are amazing. The sun setting at the perfect time, the sun peeking though the trees DREAMY!

First timer and will be a life-long visitor from now on!…read more SERVICE: Amazing! Super welcoming staff and accommodating. We ended up extending our stay and took care of it right away. I was about to cancel our reservation due to the recent snow/winter storm and even with chains we were worried about becoming stranded but they were kind enough to offer a reschedule due to the promo being non cancellable. Glad we stuck through the new reservation! Communication was very easy; either through messages or phone call and our needs were met quickly. Being a first timer in the resort and the area, they were very helpful with answering our questions about things to do or where to go. I can't say enough good things about their staff. Check in was a breeze with online and at registration, so was check out. AMENITIES: Granted we went during winter months and right after a snowstorm so we really weren't able to use the amenities such as the pool or hot tub but we were able to walk around and it was open. The Pines market is very convenient with all our needs as well as the other shops and stores for snacks or different foods. Parking was easy at the registration although they might need to repaint some of the numbers or lines in front of the chalets but other than that, no issues with parking at all. ROOM/ACCOMMODATION: We reserved a 2 queens chalet with lakeside view. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by the electric pole/trees towards the lake but can still see some of the lake. It was still a beautiful view and the location of our chalet was close to the amenities. The chalet was clean and had no harsh cleaning solution smells. I loved that it came with a kitchenette and the balcony to do some outdoor grilling. The place was comfortable and homey. I wish there was just another toilet upstairs lol because there was 4 of us and we somehow managed to want to use the restroom at the same time multiple times LOL. But otherwise, everything was in working condition. As a suggestion, if they can change the bedroom tv to a smart tv because the cable channels kept glitching and channel options were slim also if possible just have it on the wall, creates more walking space because it was pretty tight walking to the beds lol. There's this little cubby space on the other side of the bathroom wall where a dresser (a tall one) could be put instead. Otherwise, I still very much loved our stay. We absolutely did not want to leave. I cannot wait to book this resort again. Highly recommend! Wonderful staff, amenities and accommodation! Close to yosemite and oakhurst. Very convenient.

I only stayed one night at The Pines Resort in Bass Lake, but it was enough to absolutely love it…read more Our cabin was small but super cozy, just a short walk to the lake, and we had a great lake view from our balcony. The cabins freely a bit outdated, but the property is really clean and well kept, and the restaurants and bars were amazing. We had such a fun time. Huge shoutout to Kim from the security team, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and took great care of us, even shuttling us back and forth to the Pines Bar a few times. Honestly, every staff member we encountered was awesome. Short stay, great experience, and we'll definitely be back.

We filled out the paper work and she told me I had use of the place for the entire day, so my event time didn't really matter. I put down my event time was until 4. They sent me a letter refusing to return any of the $300 deposit I paid because I went over the time of 4pm. (And because they say I didn't sweep and mop, I did sweep). If my event ended at 4, how would I break down and clean and be out by 4. But that didn't matter because she told me I had all day. I feel like this is a scam to keep the deposit. Additionally when I paid for the use, she did not tell me that they charge a credit card fee for using my credit card. If I had known they were going to charge an extra $24, I would have paid in cash. I didn't know until after she already charged my card. The place itself was just ok, old looking, could use some updating and fresh coat of paint. Not worth the price, and I was told it included the use of tv displays but no one could show me how to use it the day of my event, so it really wasn't included.

When it come to preparing food, their kitchen really makes it easy when we serve our own food and caterers find it useful as well. I was really impressed with how many people we could seat and still have room for people to dance. Our DJ liked the area on the stage for him to set up. You can't go wrong with the price and the great service makes this a hell of a bargain.

From our first trip up the gondola and to McCoy station we knew this was our place to be married!…read moreWe have had the best experience with such great staff to ease our mind! I knew going into this venue we would have to go with the flow due to unpredictable weather. Natalie Saini eased my mind from the first time I emailed with her and spoke on the phone with her. She was here for me as a coordinator every step of the way! She would email me back quickly and even coordinated a private tasting for us since we were unable to make the group tasting they have twice a year. Her organization and experience made me so confident that our hard work planning would all come together! We had rehearsal on the rooftop and had to switch locations to inside Parallax less than an hour before ceremony time. I'm sure that was stressful for her, but she made me and my husband not have a worry or care in the world. Our day was absolutely perfect for us! She accommodated our wishes of having 10-15 minutes alone after our ceremony. Natalie went above and beyond. She let us have our moment together in our reception area where she had waiting for us drinks and lots of appetizers! We walked around our reception area and got to see it all before our grand entrance to our guests. The gondola staff, the servers, bartenders (Connor especially!), chef, coordinators, and all the Mammoth Mountain staff were so good to us! Our guests raved about the food! We did the family style and it was almost like plated! Lastly, right when we got into town, Natalie came to our cabin and picked up all of our wedding decor and details so we did not have to worry about it! The Sunday after the wedding, she dropped it all back off to us in perfect condition and boxed so nicely. We cannot thank them all enough for putting on this epic wedding and best day of our lives thus far! Mitchell & Marissa Martens
