Chris and his team were efficient (on time everyday - worked on Saturdays) easy to communicate with and kept me informed throughout the process. Asking for my input and adjusting to my preferences. When discussing the estimate and hashing out the details my Dad suggested we add a 'Time' clause ie 'If you go longer than the agreed upon time frame of 5 weeks there will be a monetary penalty', well Chris did not bat an eyelash and agreed without hesitation - he knows his crew and how they work so was not at all worried about running long - and to our delight he was RIGHT!! They estimated 5 weeks for a basement remodel to include demo, a true bedroom, tv room and a fully built bathroom with plumbing and were done in 4!!! We have been living in the space for almost a month now and have had no issues, no surprises - not one!! I find this to be a point of praise for AB Remodeling!! Chris and his crew were respectful of our home, were helpful in general and cleaned up all of the construction mess - to include hauling away all the trash. This really is a one stop shop kinda company, demo, planning, building, electric, tiling to plumbing... they did it all with ease. So helpful to us. This was our first foray into home renovations with an outside contractor and we couldn't be more pleased. Beautiful , clean and quality work! Chris and his team were so good at each task, even designing the bathroom! - and made it a very good experience for us which was appreciated. We were remodeling our basement and got several quotes, but Chris immediately stood out with a fair, reasonable price and a thoughtful approach that made us feel comfortable right from the start. What really set Chris apart was how involved he was before the work even began--and all the way through the project. He offered great design and layout suggestions we honestly wouldn't have thought of on our own, from flooring choices to lighting to small details that made a big difference. He also helped design the space so it functions like three different rooms while still feeling like one connected, open area, which completely changed how we use it. His team was on time, professional, and incredibly respectful. They put down protective matting as they went in and out of the basement, swept the floors daily, cleaned up debris as they worked, and treated our home with real care. They even took their shoes off before coming inside. It genuinely felt like they were remodeling their own home, not just doing a job. The crew truly felt like family, and the before-and-after transformation of our basement is incredible. There were also a lot of thoughtful touches that really stood out. On days when we weren't home, Chris and his team would bring our garbage cans up near the house on collection day, which was completely unexpected and very appreciated. Even after the basement was finished, they helped move furniture and larger items downstairs, which felt truly above and beyond. Our dog even loved them--and he's a pretty good judge of character. Throughout the entire process, they were consistently kind, considerate, and easy to have around. One highlight that still amazes me: Chris and his team stained the basement stairs to perfectly match our first-floor stairs. I honestly didn't think it could be done, but they took their time and absolutely nailed it. The drywall and framing work were done beautifully, and what really stood out was that Chris came back later to check on everything and make small touch-ups, just to be sure the work held up. That level of pride and follow-through is rare. They painted the ceiling black and were meticulous--no missed spots, no shortcuts. Everything was done with care. We agreed on a timeline, and they started when they said they would, finished on time, and left the space spotless when the job was done. To make things even easier, we simply picked out samples from Home Depot, and Chris and his team handled all the materials. The entire process was smooth and stress-free. All we had to do was make one call, do a little planning, and enjoy our new basement one to two weeks later. And honestly, our basement is now one of our favorite parts of the house. It's peaceful, quiet, and truly enjoyable. What we expected to be just a more functional space turned into a place we actually love spending time in. The whole experience felt exciting--almost like Christmas morning--watching it come together. The results completely exceeded our expectations. We're really happy we chose Chris and his team for this project. Long story short, we get a call that he can't finish the job because of a death and funeral he needed to attend. All that got done was a sanding job but no finish. During the conversation he began to threaten us when we told him to just walk away and we would not be paying the balance. We could not afford another 1 or 2 nights in a hotel )vapors) and giving the threats he first made to my son and then to me I wanted nothing more to do we this company. He thretend a contractors lien if we didn't pay him for "not" finishing the job. This guy was scum. Period. If this is a new owner then fine, but if its the same owner stay away. Anyone who threatens to sue you when they were at fault and refuses to compromise with you is not someone you should do business with.

There were some dingy areas from sun exposure and areas with darkening from water. I called them on a Monday morning, Sam came over that same morning and gave me a quote, and they started on Tuesday. The floors and stairs looked fabulous after their work! I was worried (ok, paranoid) about dust since I'm quite allergic. As a hobby woodworker with a lot of dust capture equipment, Arlington Hardwood must use some serious filters and vacuums because I didn't think it was possible to leave that little dust behind. There was just a tiny bit on flat surfaces that had the consistency of flour. The floors are now gorgeous and I'm so glad we had them done before moving anything into the house. I only wish he did Zelle for payment. One thing I really like is that the owner actually does the work, so you know it will be done well, and you're getting his experience.

Peter is probably one of the most professional contractors I've ever hired. He confirmed the start of the project the day before, showed up on time every day of our 3-4 day project, finished at a decent hour (so we could have our evenings to ourselves), and kept me informed about the progress of the project every step of the way. Everything was contracted and professionally handled in terms of invoicing. He made suggestions for how to improve the appearance of our home in certain places and gave us up-front pricing about every additional change we could add on if we wanted (we took all of his suggestions and so glad we did!). He paid such great attention to detail, fixing so many errors throughout the house that previously were there...things I didn't even know needed fixing! So many of our doors were not sealed correctly and the flooring was all a mess, they fixed it all for us. This was a big project for us - we saved for a whole year for this project - I am so happy we chose to work with IDC.
