That was the main event advertised and was enough to get me so excited for a trip, but it was actually SO much more! Before we actually even met the pigs, we got a chance to meet and pet puppies, the barn kitten, horses, goats and a mule and I have to say, Robin the goat stole my heart... While we pet and played and fed, Maggie taught us about the work that they do at the sanctuary. They rescue all different kinds of animals from different situations. Sometimes owners can no longer take care of their animal, sometimes they rescue them from livestock auctions (like Tanto the mule), but all of the time this amazing place is just trying to make sure these animals have happy lives. She explained some sad truths behind how teacup pigs are bred (they are basically just fed so little that their growth is stunted) but she just made us fall more and more in love with all of the animals we were meeting. So many animals at the sanctuary were up for adoption so if your house has a spare room, I can totally vouch for Robin the goat. They also have dogs that are looking for homes if that is more your speed. If you are just visiting the area like us, I highly recommend going for a tour. A few years back the Spca didn't…read morehave a very good reputation, but it is turned around and the employees and the board have really made this place a total success! Since January 20 23, they've taken in close to 400 local dogs that were either lost or needed placement into new homes due to circumstances beyond their control. The local SPCA is not associated with the ASPCA, but they are a small nonprofit that depends on funding from communities to keep the doors open and keep the employees paid to continue rescuing and saving and placing puppies and dogs into their forever homes.. the new board and all of the employees give a warm welcome to people coming in and take care of all the animals that are in the shelter as if they were their own. It's a beautiful facility and they do different charity events to help. Keep those doors open. The dogs that I adopted are the most perfect pups in the whole wide world and I may be a little bit biased because I love them so much. When my cat died, the Spca helped me with getting him cremated and we're so caring which really warmed my heart.

My definition of a day is 24 hours. I dropped my two Great Danes off at 5 PM and picked up less than 24 hours later. I was charged $150. I asked if it was ever possible to be charged for a single day at all- they responded that only for "Doggie Day Care" is it possible for a dog to secure a one-day price. So, hypothetically speaking, if you dropped your dog off at 11:59 PM and picked up at 12:01 AM, they would call that "2 days." Called two other kennels before writing this review to make sure that wasn't industry standard. They said it was ridiculous. 2) I asked if they provided bedding, and they said they did. They knew I was boarding 2 Great Danes together in one kennel. They provided one raised bed for a medium sized dog. Would've been simple for me to provide my own had they just told me that. 3) They are open for two 2-hour windows per day, so plan carefully for pickup and drop off. I'm hoping that means "open-to-public" and they attend to the dogs more frequently then that, but I wouldn't put any bets down. Also, they told me a cash price over the phone that was not offered to me in person when I picked up. Not that I had the right amount on me anyway. I assumed, like a normal person would assume, that less than 24 hours fell in the "one day" pricing range. It's a shame. This kennel is near my house and I was looking forward to using them in the future. Nope.

From the start, the staff were professional, attentive, and easy to work with. We upgraded for the daily updates on what the dogs were up to, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. One of our dogs has anxiety and food allergies, so we're pretty particular about her care. The team handled it extremely well. They listened carefully to our instructions, were thoughtful about her specific needs, and she bonded closely with the staff. She still remembers Andrea, who took especially great care of both dogs. The timing also made us smile: while we were at a luau in Hawaii, the dogs had their own little "luau" back home. A small touch, but it says a lot about how much they care. When we picked them up, they were clean, happy, well socialized, and somehow had even picked up a couple of new tricks. We wouldn't hesitate to leave them here again.

He isn't a fan of a groomer and I am his uncle and I imagine as some do for their human nephews I took him to get a cut. As you can see from the photo this once swirly, grizzled, disheveled looking yorkie has been upgraded. The rates are comprable to any other groomer but what I like about here is the speed and care given to the Dog. I dropped him off at 10:30am calling day of and by noon on the dot he was done ready for pickup. The Barkery has lots of treats and items so pick something up for your furry friend. They receive my 5/5 stars
