Been here for 10 years although nice staff the firm has not introduced any new equipment in a decade while they continue to increase their monthly rates. They kept the gym extremely clean during the pandemic only to let it go into uncleanliness! I've given feedback to no avail! As soon as an alternative comes up I'll consider moving. read more

This place is so small and the locker rooms are not of the same standard as any equinox I've ever been to and I've been to plenty. The locker rooms look like they are left over from a high school or public gym. They have slots for you to bring your own lock and lock it yourself it doesn't have a dial or a keypad you have to bring a pad lock. There's also nowhere to sit by a mirror when boring your hair. read more

Definitely one of the nicest gyms in the area. It's also one of the most expensive but if you include the high end feel of the gym as well as the eucalyptus towels and cleanliness of the place I could see why they are charging so much. I wish they were a little more affordable but you get what you pay for. read more

I was shocked at how lackluster this location is. Like all locations, it's very clean. There's a new manager, so hopefully the issues with the unknowledgeable & rude staff and trainers can be addressed. The Greenwich and Darien clubs are much bigger and better run. Hopefully this location improves. I was treated so poorly by both a membership advisor and a trainer that I considered canceling my membership. I stayed a member since I've been very happy with Greenwich and Darien. If I'm Westchester, I would rather skip my work out for that day than go to this location. read more

I love this location. The parking is limited, and sometimes you have to resort to getting meter parking, but wowwww this place is awesome. Equinox is a high end gym at a high end price. Yes it's expensive, but they provide some great services, and sometimes the price you pay is what you'll get. The reasons i hate cheaper gyms (NYHRC, NYSC, Planet FItness, etc...) is how crowded the gyms are. At Equinox, even its busiest times aren't even that busy. I never have to wait long for a machine, if i wait at all. I hear the crowded times is in the early morning, but i never go to the gym then anyway. This location is pretty empty in the PM which is great. THe facility seems very clean. The clientele here seems to be mainly soccer moms with an occasional middle aged man here and there. There is a personal trainer (in light blue) always on the floor willing to assist you. THey have something amazing for members...the cold Eucalyptus towels. They are very refreshing after you work up a sweat. They have all sorts of machines and equipment so you'll never have a boring workout routine. There is so much to do here; it's great. They even have a juice bar, which i have yet to try. They have a spa too, but again i have yet to try that too. The bathrooms in comparison, i'd say are on par with NYHRC but Equinox uses higher end products (Kiehls) I dont know much about that, but from my female friends, they say its a great product line. Great location; yes its smaller than the ones in the city, but it's less crowded too so it balances out. The staff are friendly, and they totally cater to their clientele. I had a 1 week trial here thanks to a friend, and i was instantly wow'd. Now, i'm a member. Luckily they were running some promotions during the time i signed up; otherwise i probably wouldn't have joined the gym since yes it is expensive compared to your typical workout facility. It's good motivation for me to come here and get the best value out of my hard earned money. read more

What can you say about this gym that hasn't already been said ? It is a small equinox that is outdated , requires locks , still closes early , can't use the steam room 30 minutes before closing because they need to clean it so the reality is it closes at 8:30 not 9 pm Monday through Thursday . I saw a review that mentioned the trainers seem arrogant and unfriendly and now that I think about it , most of them are . I had not noticed that until I thought about it , but yes, they are not that affable . They don't sell smoothies and at times don't have water bottles . They are lucky gym options are limited and that they are clean but not worth the price . One should be able to go to other Equinox gyms without paying given how small and crowded this one gets . Parking lot is packed and annoying to park these days in the morning hours but at night they close early ?!?!? working folks need to workout late . At the end of the day ... this is a gym for old people and Scarsdale soccer moms who don't work . The gym is clean and the crowd is not ghetto which are the best selling points and If you want to pay the near 200 bucks for a gym like this then by all means . I ran into someone that told me to try lifetime fitness . May check that out . Oh - they don't give out guest passes either , but I see people bring their kids ( that aren't members ) pretty frequently . How is that possible without guest passes ? if I can give zero stars I would. ask the guy for a month try out and I paid. due to work and some issues I couldn't do anymore and they inform me I have to pay for 12 month when no one inform me of this. guy who sign me up when he see me he turn his body away and act like I'm not there. no one can help you or care because they want there money go to another gym. they weren't clear with the rule and regulations. The gym is clean and the classes are good but if you aren't off in the morning there really are no class options for you. The gym is overly crowded in the morning especially at 9 am every weekday and forget about weekends! There is no parking whatsoever. The parking lot is also poorly designed. The membership fees are overpriced $163 is a lot for a basic gym you can find anywhere. I'm done with my one year membership and will not be returning. This gym is ok. Compared to Lifetime Fitness, it's a dump. compared to Armonk Equinox it's a dump. But it's clean. And has a lot Of equipment in a small space. But old. Also, no matter where I work out, I'm in the way of cleaning staff and training staff. Not their fault. Just the design. There's an area by the free weights that constantly has a laundry cart being rolled by, despite having no towels on the gym floor. read more

I had tried another, much larger gym near Scarsdale, but found that breadth isn't as good as depth when it comes to training facilities. With Equinox in Scarsdale, you will find everything you need for an excellent workout in a compact, easy to navigate space. It's very rarely crowded, and I don't think I've ever had to wait for a machine, bench or treadmill. The staff are worth mentioning, too. They are all friendly and professional, and have an amazing ability to remember every client's name - it's that sort of place. Best of all, though, are the trainers. I've been working with Ricky Shaffer, who is insightful and patient, but also thorough, with high expectations. I came to him looking to improve my range of motion and endurance - functional, rather than aesthetic, fitness - and he has developed a challenging, creative, fun and productive plan to do just that. read more

As a 20 plus year member of Equinox in NYC I was excited to try Scarsdale after moving. The gym is pretty and clean with good classes. In general I love these gyms. Just not this location. However the WEIGHT FLOOR IS INADEQUATE. PERIOD. management claims there is a circuit but if so I'm confused. Almost no abdominal equipment, chest equipment or back equipment. While legs and lower body are covered upper body does not have enough equipment in general. Almost every machine requires a 3-5 minute wait to get on. Also machines don't have stacks. You are required to move plates on these machines. Time consuming and difficult if the corporate lug before you left four 45 lb. plates for you to move before adding what you need. I suppose you could consider tis heavy clean ip a workout bonus. At these high prices it should not happen. 2 stars because the chain and class instruction is good. but this location sucks. It is obvious this gym caters to those who work with trainers, not clients who pay monthly fees. And very high fees at that. PS There is not adequate parking at this location. read more

overall a decent enough gym...gets very crowded...some times hard to park...and worst of all is the insipid music that plays in the locker rooms and gym floor...whatever happened to silence is golden...never understood why gyms find it necessary to keep a constant drone of horrible music and tv's everywhere...everybody has a smart phone if they want to listen to or watch something...the music is this weird techno/emo crap produced by no name artists...I guess this saves money on ASCAP fees, but it is horrific to listen to...also, the steam room is decent, but it emits a high pitched screech/alarm, I guess when it over heats...being that there is a small selection of gyms in the area, with the exception of the aforementioned issues, it's not too bad... read more

If you are getting training sessions in the gym, please be aware of their make up policy. My trainer Karen initially told me that she could do nothing if the appointment was cancelled within 24 hours. This last until I found that other people could reschedule with their trainer, although the training session could not be cancelled. Then I was sick and had to cancel two sessions within 24 hours as I got sick pretty sudden and got a little out of control. When I got better, my trainer Karen refused to make up those two sessions at first, and then said she had to make up on top of my routine sessions with her. I raised the issue to their trainer manager Katrina. She was extremely rude and defensive. She said that is how the trainer runs their business. So if you are getting training sessions there, be sure that you know the policy clearly before you start. They would never tell you explicitly. If any problems happens, the customer is to blame and gets yelled at. read more

I do only group fitness classes and have to say that the level of instructors at Equinox Scarsdale is amazing! From Barre to spinning to strength classes to Zumba, they are all wonderful and experienced instructors who put great effort in preparing their classes. I actually enjoy going to all my classes. The group fitness studios are great and the rest of the facilities always clean (plus all products in changing rooms are Kiehls which is amazing). It can get pretty crowded but I am a person that feeds off the energy of others. There are so many classes so there is something for everyone. Easy to book and reserve classes through their app. The staff is super professional and always there to listen and help. This gym really works for me and I highly recommend it if you enjoy Group Fitness classes. read more

This is a very clean upscale gym and definitely my top pick after trying other gyms in this area. The only problem that I have is when I went to use the sauna every time there is an empty eucalyptus bottle and I have to ask staff to fill it up and wait for it but other than that this is top notch! The reason why I stress about the eucalyptus oil spray in gym is because this is one of the main reason I chose to be a member for this gym for their sauna and specifically the eucalyptus after a good work out to refresh and enjoy it! I would like to suggest to have staff check steam room every 1hr or every 2hrs to make sure there is a full bottle of eucalyptus at all times I'm steam room. Otherwise this gym deserves 5 stars. Staff is very helpful friendly and super clean. Prices are on point too. Thank you and I hope the eucalyptus in sauna won't be a problem anymore. read more

So much better than New York Sports Club in my opinion. The gym isnt huge but has more than enough cardio machines and very clean locker rooms. The cafe is very good and makes delicious smoothies. The classes are mostly very good, though the women get a little possesive of the spot they like to stand in each week. I dont think their spin classes are as good as they could be, but i guess this isnt that popular here. One complaint for group classes is that they set no capacity/limit on class size and some classes get dangerously full. Overall i find this gym to be a relaxing environment with basically every feature i could want. read more

I was a member of Equinox for years and finally realized it's just not worth the money. Yes, it's clean and the floor is rarely crowded, but the machines are a bit dated, and the class schedule is geared towards those who don't work and have all morning to spend at the gym. They offer their best classes in the morning and in general, they offer many more options throughout the morning than evening hours. Their spin classes are average and do not compare to Soul Cyle or Flywheel. And the cardio area and equipment is probably my least favorite part of the gym. I recently moved to LA Fitness in Ridge Hill, which is about $40 a month, and every one of their treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc have their own personal television built in. At Equinox, there are a few community TVs above the cardio area that are almost always tuned into the same station and you have to survey the whole area to ask for permission to change a channel, which is never easy. For the money this place charges you, it falls way too short. Instead, I'd rather pay much less to go to LA Fitness and pay extra each month to take classes at Soul Cycle, SLT & Barry's. Sad thing is, if they revamped their classes and class schedule and actually used some of the money they get from their members to update their equipment, it could be worth it. I've also been to different Equinox clubs in the city and LA, and this place just doesn't compare. It's sad because with Lifetime Fitness and Equinox Armonk up the line, we could really use and upscale serious gym in lower westchester, this just isn't it. read more

I am a member here currently, but very frustrated. I am a nurse and I work overnights. This past Sunday 8/18 At 730/745 came in for a quick work out and the juice bar was closed. I asked the front desk person for a water and she said she didn't have any, and the juice bar wouldn't open till 8a. This gym is too expensive to not have bottled water available at all times. Prior to this for a couple of weeks there was no juice bar, but individuals are still being charged the same rate. This is totally unacceptable. Even during the weeks they had no juice bar the water was kept behind the front desk, and it was obviously warm. Instead of utilizing the fridge at the juice bar just to store the water, or getting a cooler. Who wants to drink warm water when working out ?! Initially I was so excited to join, but not I feel like I've made a terrible mistake. Mornings can be crowded but late afternoon evenings are not packed which I like. I enjoy the gym because it's not crowded but that's about it. read more

This Equinox is Notorious in the area however it failed to deliver for me. Place gets pretty crowded and the machines don't seem to be maintained to well. Free weights are dirty as can be (I've never seen the grips so black in my life) and are never organized. The TV for the cardio area are not built into the machines, so you cannot select the station you would like to watch without bothering a staff member (It's like being back in the 1990's) Staff members are in the midsts of conversations all the time when you enter. Many are reluctant to say hello. I was there and committed for 1 year, however when I wanted to leave it was a difficult process. A members services representative call me when I signed up once and then never followed up with me for entire year. The person was not too happy to be corrected. (This is not what I would call "Proper Customer Services.") Will not be returning. I hate to give negative reviews, however buyer beware. read more

Equinox was once at the top of the mountain. Then came Lifetime and not only did they begin to grab all the Rockstar instructors, Equinox started getting rid of their best. What was once the most exclusive place to work and be seen has turned into a company that's scraping the bottom of the talent pool. The industry is turning to Ala Carte locations and the big players. I never thought I'd see the day. Both Scarsdale and Mamaroneck dropped the ball as Greenwich did over a year ago. The search continues. read more

Beautiful uncrowded space. Spotless due to the mainainance staff who never stop working. Other than the maintainance staff, managers, greeters, and assistant trainors are zombies. Personal trainors and classes rule and in the case of yoga classes after their sessions the studios look like a junior h.s. class cafeteria. Namastse! If you don't have/pay for a trainor ,baby, you are on your own. And not treated in a friendly manner. Many years ago, I was a manager at Cherry Hills CC in Denver. 3/4 of the present Exuinox staff would have been fired within two weeks. Times change- quality doesn't. read more

I thought I would try out this gym as I am a member of the Equinox chain. The gym is great, in it's own building and has great equipment and class space. I am glad I tried out the gym and will try it again in the future. The only downside was that the locker rooms seemed to be a little on the older side but still very clean and nice. I've belonged to: NYSC in Mamaroneck, Planet Fitness, LA Fitness, and now I've been at Equinox in Scarsdale for about six months. All these people complaining must get a kickback or something, because I've done several facials, massage, waxing, I've tried just about every machine in the place, and I've bought a ton of clothes at the shop...never so much as a stinkeye, let alone a real issue, was to be found. Whether with staff or the place itself, this gym is awesome. I wouldn't eat off the floors, but the way they run around cleaning every little thing, you'd be hard-pressed to find any germs or dust anywhere. I think they must huddle and talk about the customers, because I'll get a new outfit with the shop girl and next thing I know, everyone's telling me how cute the clothes look, etc. When I pulled a muscle, I came in the nest day and everyone from the desk to the exercise floor was asking how my leg was doing. If saying negative stuff keeps the place crowd free, then go ahead, please keep saying this place sucks. But it's not at all true, really, I'm very happy here. read more

There is not enough room at all for weights, there were no machines for abs, chest, or back, and the place is always crowded so you often have to wait to use a machine you want to use. These problems would be understandable if it were a low end gym, but this place charges high monthly fees, so I expected much more. 1 star read more

Okay gym if you are young/very fit and into spending a lot of money each month at the gym. Otherwise, not so much and for my purposes (over forty, needing to lose weight), a one star gym. Pros: clean, friendly staff, nice lockers/sauna and good quality but limited equipment. Cons: very limited scope in classes (be very fit), small equipment/weight/floor area that keeps getting smaller to focus on use for members with personal trainers, too small class areas and a club manager that in my experience will promise all kinds of things but follows through on very little. But if you fit their niche and don't mind spending a lot, you may love it! read more
