Snap Fitness is one of the best things to ever happen to North Rockland/Stony Point! I've been a member for over a year, and during that time have been nothing but happy! I joined with the intention of losing quite a bit of weight, and struggled with doing so for quite some time. After a 5 minute conversation with the manager, Allen, about my current routine, he offered some suggestions and I am down 5 pounds! (It's a step in the right direction.) This location is clean, well-lit (important for any 24 hour location in a small town), and well-managed. Allen really takes the time to get to know his customers and what they need from him to reach their goals. He is friendly, always helpful, and wants you to be the best "you" you can be. Good assortment of machines and free weights; it's only possible to be bored if you stick to the same routine. Change it up occasionally! I usually bring my own music, but on the occasion it's had a glitch, I've noticed that the music played in the facility is upbeat and motivating. Everything is wonderful, and they take kindly and genuinely offer to work in any suggestions you may have (as much as a franchise can...). $40/month is well worth it; I don't intend to go anywhere else. Be very careful with Snapfitness. I cancel my service with them back in February 2020 and I notice they started charging my card again in November of 2020 without my authorization. They charge your card when you least expected and they keep your credit on file even after you discontinue your service. read more

Worst decision I ever made! This gym has no showers or locker room ... for $30 a month you can't even shower there ... the equipment is all very old and dingy and everything is on top of each other. It was very hot and the vibe is hard to work with... it needs to be updated for sure . Also, it was not very clean for being a small gym I was very unimpressed. I did the 8.95 month trial and I went once because that's all it took. I couldn't even get a full workout bc I was so upset with the overall appearance and equipment. How can you charge $30 and not even up keep? How do you not have even a locker room...? If you are going here beware because there isn't even lockers it's open cubbies like in kindergarten. Not at all worth the money! I guess it's good for locals but I would not ever recommend this gym! Go up the road to retro I'll suffer thru the yellow and red and pay more to enjoy my workout and be able to lock my Belongings and shower if I please ... ! If your the type to workout before work and shower this is not the gym for you! It's def for the locals! Worst choice I ever made note to self tour the gym first! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!! Stay away from this place! Let me start by saying I visited this franchise about 3 weeks ago and toured the facility. The manager at the time was great, very informative and at the end of the visit I left with the intention of signing up and even possibly having my wife go there for personal training sessions. I told the manager that day I would discuss it over with my wife, and he said that was fine, and if I had any reservations about the membership I could sign up for a 7 day trial. Awesome! So, I returned today to try the 7 day trial with plans to sign up for a monthly membership. I saw the day manager Greg Turk (not the same guy I met with a few weeks ago) as he was changing a garbage bag and said politely "Hey how's it going, I'm interested in signing up for the 7 day trial." Without any hesitation, he looked me up and down and replied rudely "I can't, I'm gonna have to turn you down." I replied "I'm sorry?" He responded "I can't sign you up." Thinking he was joking around, I asked him again. He then told me that I looked like the type of person that would sign up for 7 days and not be interested in a membership, and that the 7 day trial is reserved for people interested in becoming members. I told Greg "I'm sorry, I was told I could sign up for a 7 day trial membership, I was here a few weeks ago looking to become a member but I wasn't fully sure that day, and the manager that day told me to come back to do so. I even called here yesterday and spoke to the manager, was it you maybe? He told me to come in and he'd sign me up." I couldn't remember the name of the manager that gave me the tour that day, but I tried describing him. Ignorantly, he told me that 9 out of 10 people come in looking for the 7 day trial and never return. Now offended, I asked him "Oh, I look like that type of person? I represent the 9 out of 10? People really sign up to a gym for 7 days and quit?" He told me "I see them all the time. You came in here demanding a 7 day pass, you didn't tell me you were interested in a membership." He instantly assumed I was going to use 7 days and not return, never once asking me if I was interested in signing up to become a member or even acknowledging the fact that I just told him that I am returning as a follow up to my prior visit. I then again re-explained how I was there a few weeks ago, and that I'm pretty sure I was going to sign up but I wanted to try it out first. I then told him it is rude and unethical to treat potential customers the way he was treating me and also to categorize me as if I was "a certain type of person" based on looks alone. He then told me to leave and that he was going to call the police on me. Trying not to escalate he situation, I asked him what the purpose of a 7 day trial is. He could not provide an answer. I educated him and told him "The purpose of a 7 day trial is to TRY a facility and if you like it, you sign up and become a member. I'm not just going to sign up and give you my money without knowing how I'll like it." I asked him who owned the facility and if there was somebody higher up I could talk to, he told me "I'm the manager, I run this ship!" I told him "I came in here looking to give you business and you totally treat me like I'm a thug off the street." He then replied "thats because you came in here looking and acting like a thug off the street. Just leave, a-hole!" I don't know what type of business is being run here, but I am extremely offended that this occurred in my neighborhood. I liked what Snap Fitness had to offer and the company's mission statement, especially being the only 24/7 facility nearby as I work all hours of the day in the ER. My wife and I were pretty excited to get back on track for a healthier, active lifestyle. Now, I regret ever stepping foot into that place. Too bad Yelp forces me to put 1 star here, I'd rather put a black hole. If you like being treated with ignorance and bigotry, this is the place for you. I went in on a Saturday 04/16/2016 at 10:30 am and tried to terminate my gym membership, the employee while pleasant could NOT HELP me and directed me to website..which was USELESS. I guess I have take the time and go in on weekday mid-day I assume where I have to burn up a complete work day....this is unbelievable. read more

I saw a bad review regarding this gym...I can understand that person being upset if there was some type of misunderstanding with a manager but it should have no bearing on the facility itself...My wife and I joined just after they opened 6 years ago...Allen is awesome...He is a no pressure, polite person who made the initial membership transition smooth. He extended a law enforcement rate to us which was greatly appreciated and when my wife was pregnant, I suspended her membership...when she returned after the birth of our twins, we were able to resume without a problem. As far as the facility itself, it is not giant but that just fine for the area...After a gym has been open for some time, you tend to see wear and tear on the equipment and at times, upkeep tends to decline...That is certainly not the case here...equipment always looks in good shape and is relatively clean... always a good supply of paper towels and hand sanitizer...The Stony Point area where it is located is safe (I've been a resident of the area for 14 years) if you, like myself, go to the gym after midnight...I love this place and you will also.... One thing I almost forgot to mention concerning Allen: I once mentioned how the sun really beams down on the gym through the large windows to Allen, not so much as a complaint but more in a joking manner...A few weeks later, Allen had these gigantic shades installed on the windows and let me know about it!.... .With the exception of another nocturnal member who slams weights during deadlifts at 1 in the morning, I have no complaints... read more

I've been working out at Snap Fitness in Stony Point for over 2 years and I've had nothing but great experiences every time I've used the facility. I've lost over 45 pounds over this period of time since I signed up to become a member and I honestly feel like Snap Fitness has had a lot to do with it. The staff is always very friendly, especially the manager, Allen. The gym always makes you feel like you're in a cleanly environment, and with a multitude of options to choose from when working out, my workout experience never grows dull.
