I just took a weight lifting class called Stronger with Lauren and it was fantastic! My doctor said I need to lift weights to lower the A1C blood sugar to get healthier. Of course I would also like to look better but health is my main focus now. Lauren played very motivating music and the class was high energy! At one point my heart rate went up to 146, which never happens when I'm on the treadmill. I'm so glad I took Stronger! In my opinion, Equinox Wall Street is one of the coolest clubs I've visited so far. Very large locker room! Luxurious and roomy! read more

I highly recommend Delida Torres's boxing class for a challenging yet rewarding workout that engages both mind and body.

I usually stick to the gym right near me (with the mindset that if I'm already working out, I refuse to go out of my way to actually get to the place I'm working out at) but this one just happens to be near my office and I'm trying to make the conversion to either early morning or late night. Both are tortuous. Since I'm a big fan of pro/con lists as you can probably tell from my reviews, here are the ones for the Wall Street location. Pros: 1. I love the building and lobby area. It's very "titans of New York" feeling. That said, Google Maps did lead me to the wrong side of the building. Look out for the massive Equinox sign and the flags. 2. Mario Martinez's cycle power class. Enough said. 45 minutes never passed so quickly in such a haze of copious sweat and pop music. 3. Cool space and layout - everything's on two floors but spaced out and there are lots of nooks and crannies if you just want to work out with your ear phones in and not have to look/talk to anyone. The main studio room looked great with a ton of natural light. Cons: 1. What is up with the super narrow benches in the locker room? Hardly comfortable to sit down on and zero space to spread out. 2. Wish the cycle studio got a tiny bit darker. The studio in this location had windows behind the instructor facing out on the televisions/treadmills below. I guess if you ever need a distraction or something else to power your way through the last few minutes of class, you can watch the news or the ads on the TVs. read more

Disclaimer: this is a bit of a rant. Every sunday I go here to take my yoga class taught by my one and only yoga instructor. I personally will not take it with anyone else. She kicks my butt and I always feel inferior, but she always says that we do not work in the circus, do your best, and all that matters is that you made it. This location used to be one of my favorite spots due to how nice it is and because it is one of few locations that has a flat iron. The flat iron can we a better one, but I will take it. However, the past few months, the yoga studio has been icy cold. Members have complained, including myself and nothing has been done. I hope that this review will get their attention and we will finally have an appropriately heated studio. Especially during these 19 degrees times, borderline should be illegal. We will all get sick! 15 minutes in class, we do get warmed up from our workout, but I am pretty sure it is not healthy to be in these conditions. I would expect this from $20/month membership gyms. Not a $250+/month membership place. I am constantly shown that the organization itself does not care about it's members. This location and many others I've seen shortcomings. If this place was not so convenient, I would have cancelled my membership and stayed away years ago. PLEASE UP THE HEAT. Not sure where the membership money is going towards! read more

I really enjoyed my time as a member of Equinox Wall Street. The facilities were always clean and the classes were great! The only reason I did not give it five stars is because the water was consistently being shut off during my short time as a member. This could have been due to construction happening outside the building, but for those that use the gym for the shower and/or sauna this could be a real pain. read more

Customer service is bad. Worker promised us (my wife and I) that we could cancel anytime (when we signed up). We told them we wanted to cancel at the beginning of the year, and they said no way, we have to wait 6 mo. The hours are terrible on the weekend. We paid the steep monthly price so we could be in walking distance, not to get on the train and go to Brooklyn. read more

This is an awesome location. It's just short of being pristine. As soon as you walk in to the lovely lobby, you're greeted by the front desk personnel. We were lucky to have Troy assist us. He was very amiable and helpful, directing us to the locker rooms and group classrooms. Behind the desk is the Green Power Cafe, where you can grab a customized smoothie, juice or even a protein-packed after workout meal. There are plenty of places to relax before and after you sweat your life away and it's just a calming environment; a complete 180 from some of the other gyms I've visited. My sis and I ventured out here for an early Cardio Kickboxing class with instructor, Mikey. It was intense. The music selection is on point and it keeps you energized. All of the participants gave 100% and the routine was easy to follow. This is a great class for kcal burn, improving overall coordination as well as the quality of your punches. I wish I had enough energy to stay for the Tabata class after, because that looked like a good butt kicker, too. Maybe next time. On our way out, we indulged in a couple of drinks. I had a Champ Camp Protein Smoothie (because I'm in love w/PB & bananas right now. My sis got the Equinox Elixir(?) which she liked. Background: I have been an Equinox member since 2011. I have belonged to clubs in California, Boston, and am currently NYC all access member. This is one of my favorite locations in NYC. It is never crowded, a plus during common "peak" hours especially in the locker room. Waiting in a long line at 7am for a shower is not a good way to start to the day. Other locations like Bryant Park or E 44 get so crowded it ruins the whole "Equinox" ambiance. Though, like any other location for classes you should plan to be 5-10 minutes early if you prefer a specific spot in class. I think their class offering is pretty good given this is probably a lower tier location for Equinox. I actually love that this location is multiple levels, you can always find your little spot for a workout without many people. Everything is always very clean and organized. I will say the interiors, locker rooms and machinery is more dated than most of the Equinoxes I have been to, but EQ is typically good at replacing sections of the gym that have shown more wear and tear. Shoutout to Carolann Valentino, her classes are always the toughest and push me the most. So definitely sign up for her class if you enjoy HIIT type classes! read more

This is a solid gym that I've gone to for the past decade. The gym is in a former bank, which is pretty cool. The layout is great, and the gym has plenty of places to lift weights. The machines and equipment are well maintained, and the locker rooms are also kept in great condition. My one criticism is that the personal training was disappointing-- with frequent last minute cancellations by the trainer. I understand that things may arise at the last minute, but it shouldn't happen at such a high frequency. Regardless, this place is a great gym in the Financial District. read more

I booked an equifit assessment and about an hour after it was confirmed they emailed me asking if I could do another date or time that week. When I said I wouldn't be able to they just canceled the appointment and blocked me from booking at another club. The person over email was rude and dismissive as well. read more

Way overpriced, I came in twice for an introductory walk through to help me decide if it was worth joining considering that I live around the corner. Both times I was asked to wait while they called the person in charge and both times I was so put off by the whole attitude of the staff that I just gave up and walked out . By the way I was one of the first members when they opened in Chelsea many years ago and I must say that it's getting worse every year . They opened in my area and they have a schedule that only caters to office hours . What about the increasing amount of people residing in the area ? Not very smart .. read more

Great location! Spacious - lots of hidden areas. Equipment in multiple areas so you never feel like you have to hike from one area to another. Lots of mirrors! The only downfall is there is a sauna and hot tub - but it's shared - so you have to wear a Bathingsuit or gym clothes. At that point you notice no one even uses it as much because it can feel very uncomfortable. The space is big enough where they could have cut the area and made it separate for men and women which would have been much more comfortable! read more

I was a member for a couple years. Nice place. ButCancelling is a freakin nightmare though. I wouldn't have joined if I knew cancelling would be a multi-month affair. Like I'm cool with the 45 day notice. Just don't keep charging me. And then stop responding to me. When I find the time to call my credit card company to do a chargeback + block payment I will. But who has time for that? (And I wanted to quit thinking I'd join back up if I was in a location that worked for it. Hellllll no not anymore.) The @Boycott is REAL Went in last Sunday to cancel my membership as I wanted to do it in person to show my face. After 12 years of being a member and paying top dollar for this gym I just couldn't support the company that owns them anymore - Related Companies. We all know that owner Steven Ross supports Trump and just raised $12 million to get him re-elected. That said, the gentleman who helped us was really nice and seemed upset that we were leaving after being such loyal customers for such a long time. He actually spent 30 minutes with us talking but really had no justification for the owner's actions. This is not my usual Equinox location but I really enjoy touring different clubs. Came here for a cycling class in the beautiful "aquarium" (lol) studio. The locker room is pretty large, the shower area is super nice and there is a lot of space. I like how the machines/weights are set up in this location, as well as the dedicated cardio area. read more

I experienced "better" when I first joined in 2002 - 13 years ago today. A couple of things...1) there is never anyone on the floor but paid personal trainers. If you are not their client - they don't help you - which is fair....BUT I pay $150 a month for this gym - why are there NO Equinox employees on the floor to help with machines, questions or even better TEXTERS sitting on machines and not using them. The clientele has changed a lot in the 13 years I've been going to this location - it used to be mostly male-- 30s - 50s - professionals. Now it's mostly young women texting and taking selfies in the locker room wearing towels. It isn't my goal to be in the background of basic BEECHIZZ locker room photos. This happened today. It's annoying, in short - I will try the WFC location and see if someone is actually "managing" that one. read more

This Equinox is virtually empty in the mornings (both weekday and weekend). And I mean so empty that I've been the only person in the weight area on a Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. So empty that I'm not sure how they make money, unless they have a lot of non-active members. (So empty that I'm not sure why I'm possibly spoiling it by sharing this fact.) On top of that, it's enormous. I haven't been here often in the afternoon/evening, but even at prime time, it's hard to see how it would get too crowded given the space. They're a little short on some of the weight stuff that I like (two bench presses, two power racks, and trainers are often using the latter) but the gym is generally very well-equipped. On top of which, it's kept incredibly clean. To be honest, even more so than the above (there are some pretty huge or really empty NYSCs around), that's the main distinguishing feature from some of the competitors. Staff is not the strongest suit, though--front desk and floor staff are very nice, but a few of the trainers seem to be a bit disrespectful of everyone else working out (one in particular seems to have the ability to occupy a couple hundred square feet at the same time with all the equipment she sets out.) Somehow, despite the insane crowding at the Brooklyn Heights Equinox, this never seems to be a problem. And to the guys who work in the men's locker room--yes, I know it's not a dream job, but please don't freak out just because someone is using a shower or sink when you want to clean it. Overall, though, it's a good choice for the area. read more

Wall Street is one of the coolest locations I've visited so far. It's like in an old bank or something and they kept the ornate ceilings and interesting interior architecture and whatever. I'm not a historical interior expert, just take it from me that this place has a vibe. The locker rooms are great as usual (Equinox locker rooms are the only clean place in NYC). As for the main event, the showers, they have a double stall vibe that I love but they're a little smaller than usual. Clean gym. Can get busy around 5pm but this is true of most gyms. Love the locker rooms and the eucalyptus infused towels! The classes are good for all levels and very motivation. I like that you can sign up for the classes on their app. The people at this gym are very good looking for the most part. Shake bar is also great! Joined this equinox a couple of years ago and even though my building just got a new gym, definitely keeping my membership here! Unlike many gyms I've been to, the machined here are never out of order or creaky. Someone is always walking around to give a towel and the staff in the locker room are very helpful and polite. Which brings to one of my favorite parts...the showers! They're so clean I'm often motivated to go to workout just for an extra long relaxing sauna session and shower (as embarassing as that is). Also not too crowded if you go at the right times and every time there's been a class there's room for everyone. read more

I have been a member here for the past two years and obviously love Equinox. There are some grievances I wish they would address. Pros: - Friendly environment with top products - Clean - Fully equipped weight machines, cardio, etc - hot tub & steam room at this location - can use big studio room when classes are not in session. Great for insta booty shots. Cons: - class variety and offerings. Some popular classes like boxing book up very quickly! Used to wake up at 4:59 am to book. - Wall Street has almost no variety in the yoga classes. Would love to see yin, restorative, etc that other clubs offer. - no separate yoga room like many others - Hours of operation. This location consistently opens later and closes earlier than others! They claim it's because of lack of swipe ins and less people, but considering how many residential buildings have popped up in Fidi, this needs to be reconsidered. read more

I JUST joined this gym and so far it's great. It was a bit of a splurge for me because let's be real this is a pricey gym. It's very clean and not a lot of out of order machines. They're really on top of it. A lot of machines! Its a huge gym though. Locker rooms have longer lockers than the average gym. They provide body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, razors, q-tips, spray deodorant, cotton balls, face cream, body mositurizer, hair gel, hair spray, blowdryers and tissues. I think I covered everything.I haven't tried any classes yet but will update with those reviews later. Free Personal Training Session: I had Kelsey who is awesome! Very down to earth and very helpful and eager to help me with my goals! That was surprising but very nice. She gave me great pointers and now I feel more comfortable to be on my own. Personal Training sessions are adequately priced according to Tier trainers. Less experienced trainers are Tier 1 and you go up to Tier X which this club doesn't have. My experience with her was great though. Everyone I've dealt with (Todd and John) seemed nice. A little pushy but nice. I mean they were trying to get me to join, right! read more

I went in to inquire about membership mid November. I have worked out at a few NYC Health Clubs including some high end ones and was curious about membership fees. The sales rep blabbed on and on for 45 minutes untill I the only way I wanted to get into shape was to run across the Brooklyn Bridge and away from him. Totally pushy and rude. The gym didn't look much better than others and at 500$ plus in initiations and 150 a month its a bit much for me. When I didn't seem interested the guy harped on me for another 15 minutes about how I could cut my finances and afford to join!! Guess what buddy to0 expensive means too expensive! And how is it a benifet to offer massages at $110 a pop for members? Seriously? i'll go to china town for 15 thanks. I was so creeped out by how desperate the whole thing seemed that I will never join and tell everyone I know not too. read more

If it was possible, i would give this place 0 stars. I would caution anyone interested in joining this gym. Given how expensive this place is (even with a corporate discount), I am completely appalled at how unprofessional the staff/management is and how poor the service is here. I had just joined in the beginning of January and in the span of 1 month I experienced the following: - Personal trainer had come 20 minutes late to our scheduled appointment - Same personal trainer had shorten my 1-hour complimentary session to 30 minutes on his own authority - I STEPPED ON A PIECE OF GLASS IN THEIR SHOWER AND CUT BOTH OF MY FEET (I immediately filed an incident report and not a single staff/management personnel had reached out to follow up with me regarding this) I had returned to the gym only to cancel my membership and to get my fees back. In their efforts to make things right, the manager convinced me to give them a second chance and offered me an Equinox gift card to compensate for the month's dues, a 2nd complimentary fitness evaluation, and 3 complimentary personal training sessions... - I never received the gift card - After this complimentary fitness evaluation, i discovered that the first personal trainer I worked with did not even provide me with a full evaluation (in fact, he didn't even give me half of one) - On the 1st of the 3 complimentary training sessions, the new trainer I was put with forgot about our appointment and failed to notify me that he was home sick By this time, I pretty much had about enough with this place. The staff clearly does not respect their members' time or well being. All I want is my money back, which I feel is justified after the disastrous experience i've had. Yet the manager had the audacity to tell me I was not eligible for a reimbursement!? I have reached out to his manager and have yet to receive a direct response about a refund. Talk about ASSet managment!!.... A gorgeous converted art deco bank is the site of Equinox Wall Street. You'll go from the world of high finance to the world of great fitness in lower Manhattan. What could be better than getting your ass in shape? - snagging a guy that runs a hedge fund too pay those Bergdorf bills! :) Seriously - I have an all access pass so that I can work out at any of the locations. This is useful since us new yorkers seemd to always be on the move. They also play to your spoiled new yorker spirit - a shop inside that sells glam work out gear; cafe and juice bar - Physical Therapy office, SPA, laundry service.......need I say more? ......When your looking for a gym you may not NEED the above mentions - but you do demand cleanliness.....I dare you to find a dirty corner of this gym.....you could eat off the floor. Its classes you want?! - you can partake is yoga, boxing (talk about satisfiying your ying and yang), Will (power) & Grace - you can even download the schedueles into your PDA. God, they make it soooo hard to make excuses not to work out..... Oh and fresh Calla Lillies/orchids in the locker room - nice touch. read more

Really not the best location... For the price you pay, you'd expect people to be able to answer simple questions, such as "do you have an assisted pull-up machine?" But instead, my friend and I were (1) ignored, and then (2) when someone finally came by, told to just go to the front desk. At that point, we had already tried to locate this elusive machine for ourselves, and only resorted to bothering someone because we really had no idea. I expected at least some sort of service given that this place costs $235 for the all-access (and that's with a discount...). This one is in an old bank, like a lot of Wall Street things, so it was cool insofar as the scenery, etc, but it doesn't quite lend itself to the best gym layout. Also, really limited classes in the busy hours of 7-8:30. Given the other reviews, I'm surprised at the service. Other than that, it's pretty standard. read more

Extremely poor handling of bad circumstances for a member, like locker theft. Over all unsafe feeling after items were missing from locks without the locks being broken. When the issues were brought to the managers they refused to have police on the property and put me through the hoops to finally offer some type of compensation, nothing near the amount of loss. The club refused to recognize that having employees with access to lockers, bypass with a key is an issue at their club. This experience was a very unpleasant one. Not a club I would visit again unless I had zero items of value with me. This is my second review since Yelp felt my 1st was against Posting Policy.. You're probably reading through these and wondering if it's worth the money. It is. I've gone through a bunch of high end gyms, and Equinox is the best, and this location is my favorite of the ones I've been to in NYC and SF. There are a lot of machines, squat racks, barbells, and pretty much everything else that even at rush hour you rarely have to wait for anything. The only thing I've had to wait for is the bench press and squat rack, and that happens rarely. Showers and everything is insanely clean, and well-maintained. Staff are very nice and helpful, and I've found the trainers to be not pushy at all meaning that I've never had my workout interrupted to be sold anything. They're also very receptive to feedback. Periodically you get emails asking how they're doing and the thing is, they actually address it. I asked for more squat racks at Union Square and they actually added some. At Wall st I asked for more rubber weight plates in passing and got a response from the manager that they'll get them. If you're serious about getting and staying fit Equinox is worth the price. read more

My favorite gym ever! Yes it's expensive but it's worth the money. The instructors are GREAT and one of the best. I've taken classes in Yoga, spinning, Pilates, Zumba. Each time i came out satisfied and more than happy with the class and the instructor! After being a member here for more than 2 years I would not go anywhere else. My favorite instructors: Spinning: Gregg Cook (NYC) Yoga: Jill Miller, Travis, Tiffany Chambers Goldberg (Santa Monica/Los Angeles) Pilates: Erika (Santa Monica) Shockwave/Whipped: Gregg Cook (NYC) The classes here are creative, fun and challenging. The equipment is always upto date. They have plenty of everything. Never had to wait for an equipment. If just that is not enough, they also have excellent locker facilities. Towels, toiletries and Kiehl Products all inclusive. The lockers are not sparkling clean 24/7 but they are the cleanest you will get compared to all the other gyms out there. I am a big fan of Equinox and everything it has to offer. Highly recommend the place! read more

I LOVE this gym. I had a free week trial from a friend and since I absolutely detest exercise machines, I decided to test out the classes. 2 classes a day straight for 5 days = GODDAMN I'M SO SORE. It was worth it, though. The classes are the *best* part. I'd recommend taking 30/60/90, both the core and cardio classes, body bar blast & blast. They're the 3 best classes @ this specific Equinox. I'm also a fan of ALL the yoga instructors. Staff members are very friendly and actually make an effort to remember your name AND chat with you! The locker room is well-stocked and well-kept. And dude.. the shower stalls have tea wood floors! Um, amazing! I mean, yea, I still wear flip flops around the locker room because I don't want any of that foot fungus shit, but the tea wood floors definitely add more class to the locker room. My only complaint about the locker rooms is that the soap kind of sucks. I feel like it doesn't produce a thick enough lather. I mean it still gets you clean but whatever, I'm just being picky. My friend regularly gets lunch from the Equinox cafe and he says that the shakes and sandwiches are tasty and affordable. I really love this gym; I just wish it was open later. They close at 10 pm most nights and 6 pm on the weekends because this Equinox is a corporate gym. Don't expect it to be open over any major holidays either (it's cool though, you can use your pass @ other Equinox gyms around the city). read more

I tried out this gym and it was not what was expected. I had my expectations set extremely high and, in the end, it was just a well decorated gym. I was going to give 3 but because of the impossibly high expectations that were set in my head, I decided to compare it to other gyms in the areas instead. Compared to other gyms, it is EXTREMELY nice. PRO: -Everything is spotless - I was showering at 6:45 am and there were already people in the dressing rooms cleaning the showers and the bathroom in general; the equipment is also very clean. -They give you razors/ nice towels/ shaving cream (it's on the sink- not in every shower), body wash, hair soap and conditioner, and [good] blowdriers in the bathroom. -You don't need to bring your own lock. -The people are pretty and REALLY FIT (aka motivation to be fit) CON: -It was more crowded than I expected on a morning (I got there at 5:40 and left at 7:20). -It started to get more and more crowded once it his 6. -The lotion smells like sun block. -The water pressure is not good (ended up taking a doubly long shower to rince the soap from my hair). -pretty expensive, even with corporate discount read more
