Here is our story with them: Two years ago I moved from a quiet neighborhood house in Dallas to a Brickell condo to join my husband who is in orthopedic residency (i.e unpredictable schedule!) This was a big adjustment for me and our extremely attached 5yo yorkie mix who has separation anxiety and nervous with strangers. I quickly realized coming home during lunch was not an option in Miami traffic. Flavia's team understood that Walter was a special case and worked with him patiently from the first meeting. Day after day they coaxed him gently from under the bed (where he sleeps and hides) to join them for a sunny walk along the bay. It didn't take long for Walter to look forward to his walks and love his walkers. He gets a mid day potty break, a healthy walk, human contact, fresh water and a snack. I don't have to worry if I work late, need to run an errand or exercise after work. Other pros: - They meet with you to practice a walk and find out you and your pets routine and preferences. - It's always 1 of 2 people that he knows. If a new walker joins they come with them to make the introduction. - They leave detailed notes and post pictures on Instagram that reassures you that your pet is safe and sound having a great day. - In the event that I go out of town and don't know my husbands schedule I can always schedule "night sits" where they will come a 2nd time to let him out and hang out with him. - They have keys and fobs so we know we can always count on them in an emergency to get Walter. The short version - Equipaws is the best pet sitter you're going to find and you should definitely choose them if you need someone to watch your pet. Long version - We are moving away from the area soon and I'm really going to miss having Equipaws to rely on. They've watched our cat 38 times over the last three years and the service has been fantastic. Several of those trips out of town lasted over a week, so it was important to have a reliable sitter to keep an eye on our cat and our house. Booking appointments is quick and easy, they communicate well, they post pictures, leave detailed notes, and even brought Elwood some toys. They also check the doors/windows, bring in the mail/packages, turn on lights, etc. There was only one miscommunication issue in three years and it was addressed immediately. Also, when my wife and I moved out of the typical service area last year they were still able to accommodate us, which was a big help. If you've never had a professional pet sitter you might not realize what you're missing, but if you use Equipaws once you are definitely going to use them again and again. I can't say enough good things about Flavia and her team. They have taken care of our 6 kitties many times for a year now, and am very grateful for their services. I could tell from the initial consultation, I chose the right company. They keep an online file that includes everything they need to know about your pet and the house, and it can be updated anytime. They have a check list for each day so they don't forget anytyhing. Then, they write a detailed explanation about the visit, such as kitty behavior, taking out the trash, when the lawn people were visiting, etc. One of my cats needs medicine twice a day but was not around during the evening feeding. Flavia came back to my house and stayed until after 11:00 PM, waiting for my cat to return so she could give him his medicine. Before Equipaws starting taking care of my kitties, I would have various people look after them. One or two would disappear for days at a time. They seemed angry and withdrawn when we returned home. I am so impressed with Equipaws! As our holiday trip to New Zealand was approaching, my paramount concern was our two cats, Dante and Darwin. I knew that they would be happiest at home (rather than staying with a friend or going to a boarding facility), but I was worried about finding the perfect sitter. Upon a recommendation from a friend, I contacted Equipaws, and I am so glad I did! Flavia was so professional, thorough, and kind during the home visit, and Angie took fantastic care of Dante and Darwin while we were away--visiting them each day and leaving careful notes on their activities and progress. The cats can sometimes take a while to adjust to new people, and she was so patient with them and even brought them some new toys, and by the end of her time with them they had really opened up. Importantly, Equipaws also provided daily pictures of Dante and Darwin while they were under their care, so that we could relax in knowing they were doing okay. Our 14 lb, 2 year old, maltipoo, Zimmy, is like our child. My Husband and I are not from Miami so it has been difficult to find people we can trust to provide services in Miami, especially when the service allows an individual to come into your home during the day when you are not present. The most important service we needed was dog walks and company for Zimmy while we are both at work all day. We researched numerous companies in Miami and found Equipaws. After contacting Equipaws, we met the owner, Flavia, who came to our apartment to meet us and Zimmy, and hear about Zimmy's day to day life. We have been using Equipaws now for over a year and they provide walks and company for Zimmy 2-3 times each week. The dog walkers leave notes every day to come home to so we can hear how Zim's walks went and how he enjoyed his day. The best part is they post pictures on social media so while we are sitting at work, we can rest assured that Zim is enjoying his time with Equipaws. She includes a complimentary visit to your home for a very thorough and professional consultation. My experience with Equipaws was fantastic!! I always get nervous leaving my dog home while we go away but Flavia and Stefanie were extremely comforting and well prepared. My pup was not the easiest to deal with, as he tends to get a bit moody around people he does not know well. Stefanie really took the extra time to hang with him the first couple of days so he got to know her and felt comfortable with her. Flavia sent me updates on how he was doing throughout the day. By day 2, my dog and Stefanie were the best of friends. Flavia texted and posted pictures on social media each day which was really great to see what he was up too while we were away. I set up a meeting with Flavia, the owner, and she came to our house for an interview. I immediately liked her and was impressed by how detailed she was in her questions. An Equipaws sitter cared for our bunnies for two weeks while we were away -- we had complete peace of mind and could enjoy our vacation without worrying about whether the bunnies were being properly taken care of. I was fortunate enough to discover Equipaws just in time to avoid having to board one aging cat requiring medical care and separating her from her very loving sister. I used both Equipaws pet sitting service in addition to their home health care service offering extra care with medications, enabling me to leave both of my cats together in the comfort of their home. We recently moved to Miami and no longer had family to take care of our three cats. Equipaws was referred to me by another pet sitting company that did not cover my area. She said these were the people she would let pet sit her babies. It has exceeded every expectation, they are awesome. Equipaws is an amazing! They have done equally well with our high energy Brittany and our special needs Corgi (he uses a cart to walk). All this and they give our two cats a tremendous amount of love. They are professional, timely and leave a detailed log of what transpired on every visit. A detailed and thorough first visit is done to make sure they have met the animals, but more importantly, so they understand everything that is involved. Where treats are located, where cleaning materials are (in the case of an accident), keys, gate codes, alarm codes, all cell and contact numbers, etc. They have an online scheduling tool that makes setting up one-time and recurring appointments a breeze. I travel often and have a dog that needs to be walked and fed at least twice a day. Once I moved downtown I was quite concerned about finding a caring and reputable service to walk my dog. I have been using Equipaws for well over a year now probably every month or two for any where from two days to two weeks and they have really been wonderful with my dog. I simply leave their names with the reception desk and they take him for a walk and make sure he has food and water. Their rates are quite reasonable and living in downtown Miami getting my dog out of a high-rise condo is very important to me when I'm not in town. I was out of town for 11 days, the longest I have ever been away from my kitty. Family usually watches her while I am gone but I needed someone for 3 out of the 11 days I was gone. Equipaws came to the rescue! Flavia came to my house to meet my baby and get to know her. My kitty usually doesn't take to strangers but she approached Flavia right away. Frankie came to see her twice a day to feed her, clean up her litter box and play and cuddle with her. They sent me photos to keep me updated and my baby was so happy. So I have to say that I was so amazed with my new pet sitters. First off I had a pet sitter for the past 5 years who passed away suddenly and I had a trip planned and was at a loss. I use Equipaws services to take care of my 3 cats when I travel. 2 of my cats need medication, one of them needs to get insulin shots twice a day. They do an oustanding job.They figure it out every cat's personality and even the shy one warmed up to the sitter (Meghan and Kesi). Also they post pictures in instagram so I can follow my cats while I am away. When I get back, they leave me a detailed day by day description of every visit (cats mood, food, water,litter,play time) and a nice greeting card. I first reviewed Equipaws a year ago with a five star rating and i continue to be impressed with their service. They continue to be extremely professional and caring petsitters. We took our first two week trip recently and our cat Simba had a great time with Meghan who is usually his sitter. Simba loves attention but is very cautious with people he doesn't know well -- he was a rescued feral cat. Meghan has gone above and beyond to help Simba be comfortable while we're away.
