They are great until you sign the quote then everything is downhill. Communication after that is nonexistent. You wait weeks then boom, they send a text that they're coming the next day. That's it. We got a fence but not the fence we agreed to in the original quote. When pointed out to the installer at the scene of installation, they pulled out their "work order" that shows otherwise. At this point, we just wanted their presence gone so we requested a price adjustment and settled for whatever it is that they installed. read more

Avoid this company! - Failed to show up multiple times. - Didn't install the proper locks on the gates as discussed prior to installation. Took them multiple times to get it right. And I still had to fix them myself. - Installed many cracked and split boards. They came out and marked all that needed replacing but when they came back they lied and ended up only replacing some and rubbing the mark off the boards which now shows as a lighter color X on them when it rains. - Installed one gate with more highly split wood that busted soon after installing that had to be repaired by me. - Supports weren't properly installed or fastened. Loose nuts. Bolts spinning freely. Causing the fence to lean. - They refused to honor the warranty for the lean bc it had rained and had winds since installation which didn't have anything to do with the issue. I merely contacted them about it before more winds came bc I was worried and they used that against me. - They ended up discounting me a little because they were so difficult to work with, to get to show up, and do the work properly. But now they also use that as another excuse not to honor warranty they had originally promised. - Left many many nails and screws in me and my neighbor's yard after being specifically asked to clean up as there are children present. Shouldn't have to request they clean up a hundred nails, screws and pieces of metal. - Didn't install the back gate straight so it drags the ground when opening. - Left plastic tags on all the boards that stuck out across the whole fence. - Also many areas of shoddy craftsmanship as shown in the pictures. - Every time they came back, something else was messed up that eventually I had to sign off and be done with them. As other reviews note, the quote process is actually quite nice and detailed. They have all of their quality customer service people working to bring you in. God forbid that you have an issue, though. They are completely unresponsive. I wrote down all the BS to date that I have dealt with (see snapshot). I put some images of the fence as well but who knows what you will get since they outsource the work. I do not spend $5k very often but when I do I would at least like some bare minimum effort to make it look good and have some communication. Just do yourself a favor and find someone else. read more

Steer clear of Ergeon if you are concerned about customer service in the event of an issue during the install. The good - How Ergeon handles the project quoting is great. I liked how it was all online, quotes were sent by email, fully itemized price breakdown, lots of visual renderings, and a satellite view of the project. All of this made it very effective to assess the quote and know what exactly we were going to pay for. The sales rep's communication (email, text, phone) was excellent. Fast, thorough, responsive. The bad - #0 - The project manager is virtual, never comes on site where the project is being installed. Our assigned project manager was based about 100-150 miles away from the project. #1 - My neighbor's and I faced multiple issues w/ the craftsmanship of install. We requested side-by-side panels for street facing panels but they installed boar-on-board panels for some sections. Some areas of the yard were sloped so the bottom of the fence panel bottom should account for that but instead the installer's craftsmanship was poor, left large gaps enough for a small/medium dog to get through. We requested the crew to fix these concerns but they refused to speak w/ us and said to talk to the manager. But, there was never a manager on site to talk to. #2 - During the time when we were trying to coordinate a date to install, the project manager would put us on the calendar even though the weather showed rain or storms. He did not bother checking the weather, ever. Each time he would say "hey we will install on this date", we would have to send him the weather forecast and then he would say "oh ok". This happened not once but ~4-5 times. Whether the project is big or small, customers expect the project manager to be more thoughtful. No customer would accept installing a wood fence in the rain conditions. #3 - We sent the project manager a list of issues w/ the original installation and the project manager sent a specialist to fix them. The problem was that we were not at home when the specialist came out, and the project manager failed to effectively communicate. As a result, the specialist wasted their time and had to come back again. #4 HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. I had to figure on my own how to communicate w/ the project manager and get them to respond back to us. The email address the project manager emails from is a faceless email, "pm@ergeon.com". On multiple occasions, our assigned project manager nor any other ergeon employee responded when we sent an email asking a question. The project manager contacted us from multiple different phone numbers. To have voice calls w/ him, I had to use one #, to text with him, it was another #. Although phone numbers were listed in the email signatures of emails he sent us, none of the numbers in the email matched the numbers he texted or called from. Once I got the ones that worked, I had to save them. When I finally was able to connect w/ the project manager, I told him how confusing this is and he explained this is just how Ergeon's system works. #5 When I agreed to the contract, the contract states there's a 2% fee if paid by credit card. The sales rep told me this before we signed and provided guidance to pay by check to avoid a fee. Fast forward to after the installation has completed and Ergeon now charges $50 if paying by check and no fee if paying electronically by ACH. I contacted the sales rep, they apologized but said this is something new Ergeon is enforcing. This is absolutely unprofessional. #6 Learned the hard way (I looked at the yelp stars but didn't read enough reviews) that Ergeon is just a middle man. I view them as a broker, not a true fence installation company. They operate nationwide and just use local subcontractors in the area. If you run into issues during the install, it becomes a major problem for you as the customer b/c Ergeon always has to relay messages between you and the sub contractor. For the project we hired Ergeon for, this was a recurring problem. read more

I wish we had seen all of the reviews before we contracted with Ergeon for our fence project, but it was right after the big storm came through and knocked down so many fences and there were few options for fencing companies. The process for getting the initial quote went fine - the sales team are very responsive and quick to give you a quote. We went with Ergeon mostly because they were available to fix our fence the soonest (still two months or so out) and their reviews on Yelp looked great. However, that's when everything started to go wrong. The first project manager assigned to our project never contacted us, and only when we reached out a couple times did we get assigned a new person. There's a huge disconnect somewhere with their operations/internal communication because the workers showed up to our house completely unannounced saying they were ready to install the fence. We were glad to have the project done, but it was extremely inconvenient to have them show up announced with no time to adjust our schedules. I don't understand why we weren't informed they were arriving that day. The workers left at the end of the day without checking in, and when we went out to look at the work, we saw that the holes where the posts were placed were filled about 1/3-1/2 full of cement and it varied by hole. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the work. The regional manager came out later to fill in the holes only to overfill them, and they're no longer even with the ground but now giant mounds. The wooden fence panels were nice, at least. Overall, not a great experience with the company. The internal communication doesn't seem great and the quality of the work was disappointing. read more

I love this company. I have used them multiple times for two fence projects. They have the easiest system for getting a quote where you hop on a video call with their agent (Mario was great, and hilarious at the same time) and walk around your property. At the same time they are using google maps to measure the size of the fence, and add gaps, gates, etc. Following that, you can pick your fence style and they send you a quote within minutes. Since they have software to provide standardized quotes, I haven't had to worry about getting ripped off... I have ~4 other people come out to give quotes, Ergeon's was the best quote, and the work they have completed was perfect. They communicated well, have a great process in place, and ensure everything is accomplished at the right times. read more

Ergeon is not a brick and mortar company. You essentially deal with an online person that conducts the estimate via a zoom type of call. Ergeon does not reveal where your sales rep is located which was initially disconcerting. The same goes for your project manager whom we never met in person, but is the primary contact once you accept the estimate. The fence contractor is a subcontractor of Ergeon. Our fence contractor was very professional and was the face to face person we met in person. The contractor confirms the measurements of the sales rep. I did have questions post the install, but could not obtain a reply from our Ergeon sales rep and project manager. So, for customers that like to have a face to face person who is the contact from beginning to end, Ergeon is not for you. We are satisfied with the fence quality and installation. This fence was being done for my grandmother and we reached out to Ergeon on a Sunday and we immediately received a response the same day. They immediately did a video call where we were provided an estimate. Due to a retaining wall needing to be added we ended up getting an additional $300.00 added to the bill but they still charged way less than other companies and the guys did amazing work and the turn around time was less than 10 days from when we reached out to the completion of the fence! However, it took persistence on my part, and I do appreciate the cooperation with the company to get done. My experience was similar to that of Sharon T of Sacramento posted in a previous review. Original review 5/15/24 Whereas I give them 3 stars, it is hard for me to recommend them to anyone. It's taken 2 months to get a job completed when it should have been less than a month. Also note, I have told them that I would write this review. Yes they finally got the job done, and my neighbor and I think that this fence will last 15 years. Three stars for eventual job completion and price. But we have had poor workmanship issues and substandard lumber quality issues that we have had to address. They were eventually mostly corrected, but it took a lot of effort to get the adjustments completed. When asked, I didn't recommend them to two neighbors. I was initially impressed with the sales calls, and workflows which seemed to be very efficient. The performance was very unsatisfactory to me which is too bad because there are many fences here in Rancho Solano that will need replacement. read more
