I started coming to Milestone about 1 year ago when I moved to Sacramento. Their office is right…read moreoff the 50 freeway and conveniently located in Arden on Fair Oaks Blvd. Their office is clean and spacious. All the staff is pleasant and is very welcoming. I have had a lot of prior dental work and was looking for a place where I would eventually end up getting implants. I wanted someone that would help me create and maintain my perfect smile, not someone who would see $$$$$ as soon as I opened my mouth. Dr. Asma Sajid is the epitome of what a caring dentist should be. She is throughout, gentle, knowledgeable and works with you to maintain the health of your smile. Each visit was better than the last. After a couple filings, I ended up getting a crown on a tooth. I came in recently and was told that my gums are healthy and the pockets have actually gotten smaller!! I have finally made the decision after TEN YEARS to finally get an implant on a tooth that has been the bane of my existence. I got my CT done in house and was referred out to another dentist for my gum recession. I will eventually end up getting my implant with Dr. Sajid and I have no doubt that they will do amazing work.

Especially when it comes to my medical/dental care. I used to go to a dentist less than a mile from where I live - which was phenomenal and worked well with my schedule. My sister, Shareen, has been raving about Dr. Patel for a few years (she even entered Dr. Patel's number in my contact list a while back). In January, I started having this pain on my left side of the mouth (about a couple of weeks after my last routine dental appointment at my regular dentist)...long story short, I ended up needing a root canal and found out that I had a cracked tooth that was progressively getting worse. Which led me to think - maybe my dentist should have caught it during my last very recent visit). Anyway, fast forward to today. I switched to Dr. Patel in late January and am extremely thrilled. The entire team is helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable and makes for a pleasant experience. The office is conveniently located (not under a mile from my home, but it is an absolutely worthwhile trade-off). I ended up needing a crown and the team worked around my schedule and kept in contact with me for any openings that may come up before my scheduled appointment. The text communication is super helpful, as a I spend most of my work life on conference calls. During my prep to get the tooth ready for the crown, I did not like all the "stuff" happening in my mouth, so Dr. Patel would pause after every few seconds and make sure I was okay. I think the procedure took about 30 minutes, but it felt like it went by much faster, even though Dr. Patel would stop for me to make sure I was okay. That is how efficient he is! Oh and they have a TV mounted to the ceiling, so you can actually have something to do instead of just laying there. AND - they give you awesome headphones so you can catch up on your old episodes of Friends or Narcos or whatever! And while writing this review, I found out that my other sister, Shane is also a patient of Dr. Patel. We are making this a family dentist! Pam is a terrific, Bonnie is awesome, Kelsey is superb, Kasandra is a delight, and Dr. Patel is a Rockstar! I highly recommend them.

Kind of a relaxed, chic welcoming feel to it. After spending the last couple of years with Dr. Patel and his amazing team working through a comprehensive treatment plan (crowns and veneers) I can honestly say that this is best professional service I've ever had. Dr. Patel and his team, especially (Jessi who is in the front) generously spent the extra time working through a complicated insurance plan situation with the up most patience, always keeping me in the loop through the process. Appointments were always made to best fit my schedule and there was never a feeling of being rushed during the many consultations as the treatment plan constantly evolved. Gabi , Erica and Nathalie are always extra patient with me as I have severe anxiety about having poking and prodding done to my mouth. (YES, like a little kid LOL ) There is never a day that you look forward to going to the dentist but Dr. Patel excels at making the experience somehow almost tolerable and humane. Old school bedside manner meets the new century. Call them if you have questions about your insurance or even if you want a 2nd opinion. What should have been a simple cavity filling turned into a frustrating series of visits. During…read morethe first appointment, Dr. Tapang did not use the standard blue bite-check paper and was unusually rough throughout the procedure. He also accidentally got filling material on a neighboring tooth, which caused them to stick together--he corrected it with a great deal of pressure and discomfort. When I expressed that the tooth still felt rough, my concern was brushed off. At the second visit, he finally used the bite-check paper but seemed rushed and dismissive. The tooth continued to hurt afterward. It wasn't until the third visit that he took an X-ray, adjusted the filling properly, and explained things more clearly. Still, instead of acknowledging the earlier issues, he implied that I might be overly sensitive. To make matters worse, the office rescheduled my routine cleaning five times--and my mother's appointments three times--with little apology or consideration for our time. I'm sharing this as a heads-up for others, especially those who are soft spoken or trusting, to advocate for themselves and seek care where they feel respected and heard.

I got my accounting degree and had a job with the state a few years later I quit my job to become an entrepreneur. With that being said, I recently signed up for Medicare. I was having a headaches, sore throat and toothache. My doctor suggested that I went to my dentist because it's been a while since I've been there. I get to McDowell's office and they instantly tell me they don't take Medicare but they will see what they can do. Optimistically I go to the back get my x-ray and Dr. McDowell explains that the doctor that I went to prior was not telling me the truth and that I just have two cavities. McDowell ensured me that my tooth with a hole in it (that hurt when air was placed in it) is not the cause of my pain. He told me to start brushing my teeth and flossing and I should be fine. We later begin to talk about getting a filling in my cavities. Dr. McDowell understanding my situation told me that although they do not take Medicare he would allow me to make payments and he would talk to the front desk to have it arranged for me. I go to the front desk and Pam automatically begins to talk about me needing to find a Medicare dentist. I told her Dr. McDowell said that we could set up making payments. Pam arrogantly begins to slightly roll her neck and says it would be best that I find a Medicare dentist. I told her that I refuse to go to a Medicare dentist because I'm not comfortable as I've been with Dr. McDowell my majority of my life. Pam begins to smirk and ask how I will go about funding. I told her I work just not as an accountant anymore. Pam continues to smirk after I repeated again saying I can make payments. Pam began to question me about my career, how I would go about making the money and who I worked for me that made me sure I'd be able to have this money for payments. Once I sternly told her I was self-employed and had my own establishment she then began to lighten up. Pam explained that she "would not want to go to a Medicare dentist as well". Feeling attacked yet optimistic I asked her for an invoice so I could be ready to make the payments. After rolling her neck, giving me a questionnaire and made it clear she felt like I couldn't afford this procedure She only wanted me to show up with $200 for my first payment which is not hard at all so I didn't understand her dramatics. I went to sleep for the next two nights with terrible headaches and pain. This morning my mother called another dental organization they took me in the same day did my x-rays realized I had tooth decay which hit a nerve and I needed a root canal immediately . I was able to pay the money out of pocket without any problems or belittling (paid it off at once even thought it was over $1000.) I realized that Dr.McDowell and is team was my childhood dental office, but it is in fact time for a change. Their miss information and failure to detail could have caused me a month worth of torture. I will happily be leaving this establishment and taking my family with me.

They were two of the sweetest women and treated me very kindly. I've always had busy dentist offices with confusing waiting rooms. This one is small and cozy, and I was the only one waiting. Dentist and her Assistant: Phenomenal! I'm pregnant, and the two of them were so genuine and explained all the procedures and even made time for me to get my filling right after my cleaning. Violet was my assistant and took extra care while flossing, and she carefully and methodically polished each tooth - no rush or pain at all. She even made the effort to use up all the polish and do some of the teeth twice. Dr Yurchak congratulated me on my pregnancy, performed my cleaning, and overall, I spent the majority of my visit with her. I was unaware that they had sold their practice until my appointment last week. The front staff were the same (and I love them!), but there were new hygienists and Dr. Bautista is the new doctor. This was the second worst experience I have had at the dentist. I was in the chair for nearly an hour for just a routine cleaning. The hygienist was relentless during my cleaning and I felt like I was choking on the water and suction tool. I told her that about 5 minutes into the prophy, but she continued and ignored my cues that I needed to swallow or spit out the water. Finally, I asked her to stop. Dr. Bautista's exam was hurried and rough. He tried to sell me on getting braces, essentially to make the cleaning process easier. I have never had a dentist tell me I needed braces. I asked him about teeth whitening. He said it was more of an issue of pigmentation. That because I was pale skinned, my teeth look darker and "that is why Black people's teeth always pop". I could not believe he actually said that. I will be finding a new dentist.
