    Delicious pastry for 1,5€

Eric Kayser may be a branded shop and not locally owned but they haven't lost their soul like most businesses. You'll find quality bread and croissants at a reasonable price with a smile. -Reasonable pricing -Open early -Friendly staff -Long lines at times! -Fast service Great croissants and breakfast bread for less than 2€ each. They always have a line out of the door for baguettes during the evening. I stopped by here every morning for a week and was not disappointed in any of the items I purchased. They speak fantastic English and were always really friendly. The quality here matches and beats most independent bakeries in the area except a little place by Nelson Mandela park. Give Eric Kayser a try!

Hello lover! I wish I had 10 more of you :)

Two words...Chocolat Noisette!! OMG, it was truly heaven in a box. It had the most amazing textures and wasn't too sweet either. I can't stop thinking about it! I also tried the ham & cheese facelle and the almond croissant. Although they were good, they did not blow me away like that tarte. Wowsers!

Not particularly impressed. I ordered the viennese breakfast set, which included a basic pastry, latte, and oj. This set was €8, meaning almost $10. I thought it was not worth the cost. Maybe this is the average price of food in Paris, but I don't usually pay $10 for a mere piece of bread and coffee. This Eric Kayser is located near the Louvre so I sat at their outside seating a bit before the Louvre opened. Unfortunately, I was a victim of a bird poop attack while I was relaxing outside. -- taste / 3 aesthetics / 4 vibe / 3 service / 3 price for quality / 2 OVERALL / 3

Delicious bread. Especially liked the pistachio apricot bread, which is slightly but not overly sweet. Baguette is good too.

We tried the jambon sandwich and chicken baguette, paired with a golden ale beer and coffee. Both sandwiches were outstanding--freshly made with incredible bread, generous fillings, and a perfect balance of textures. The strong cheese they offer on the side is a must; it pairs beautifully with the sandwiches, and the staff even lets you try it before deciding, which is a great touch. We did go around 2pm and unfortunately the pastrami was already sold out, which speaks to how popular it is. We also waited about 30-40 minutes in line, but it moved steadily and didn't feel too painful. We were lucky to find a spot to dine in, though most people grab their food to go. Service was friendly and quick despite the constant rush. The atmosphere is more grab-and-go than sit-down, with very limited indoor seating. Most people take their sandwiches to enjoy at a nearby park, which actually adds to the experience. Be prepared for a queue, but it moves faster than expected--and the payoff is absolutely worth it for what might be the best sandwich in the city.

When I went, there was a long line that stretched through much of the block. They allow one group at a time into the shop for a fully curated Jamon Beurre experience. Yep, that is all you can get here. Ham sandwiches, but it's a much more involved experience than that. When you walk in, there is an entire wall with a cooler displaying every kind of ham possible. You have to pick whether you want cured or just baked ham. What region? They offer Italian, French, Spanish and then you have to narrow it down to the region! Then you do the same with the cheese. I ended up getting two sandwiches, the cured ham from Spain's basque country paired with Ossau-Iraty, or basque sheep milk cheese. My other sandwich was a French baked ham sandwich with comte. Which was the winner? I have to say, the cured meat from Spain was out of this world and in our taste test, was the top winner. I know, I shouldn't say that in France!

Naturally, we had to see what all the excitement was about. ambience has that old-school Parisian bistro feel We ordered their best sellers and while both sandwiches were made with quality ingredients, fresh bread, and generous fillings, they just didn't live up to the expectations. They were good, but they weren't the kind of sandwiches that make you stop after the first bite and think, this is amazing. I honestly don't understand the hype. After waiting in line, I expected something truly memorable, but it turned out to be just a good sandwich, nothing more. If you happen to pass by when there's little or no queue, it's worth trying. But if there's a long line, I'd skip it and head to one of the many other excellent sandwich shops in Paris. For me, the wait simply wasn't justified.

I whipped out Yelp and noticed that I had Happy Caffe bookmarked. I'm not sure how it landed in my collection, but the reviews were excellent thought it would be a good option for lunch - so off we went. Happy sits right on the street - it's a super small space with barely any room inside and several tables outside on the sidewalk. They did a good job making room for us - I have to say they mastered the art of optimizing what little space they have but even still be prepared for a tight fit. The menu has a selection of baked good, crepes, and sandwiches. We asked the employee working behind the counter what they recommended and he suggested the kebab panini as he sells many of them every day. We decided to each get one, which was served promptly. The sandwich wasn't my favorite - the chicken seemed a little off, and it wasn't that tasty. I wouldn't say it was awful, but I also wouldn't order it again. Looking back, perhaps I ordered the wrong thing (despite it being recommended to me). I'm puzzled by all these 5-star reviews - maybe the crepes are better? Two stars for the friendly and attentive service, but I would bypass this spot next time I'm in Paris.

Charcuterie did come with good presentation like wood board or anything but it was a good portion. I didn't read the menu closely and ordered charcuterie as soon as saw it. I wanted to have some cheese with it. I should have ordered assiette royale which comes with both meat and cheese. I also ordered Andrea which comes with burrata. It was great with salad and lemon shavings but anchovies were pretty salty. I suggest to eat it with some kind of bread. Between that two orders, I was stuffed and couldn't even finish it. Charcuterie came with a paper box in to-go or take-out style. It had variety of cured meat slices. Meats had good flavors, textures, tastes from salty to spicy and tangy from lemon slices. It was good to pair with Burrata. Recommend this place in Paris!
