The day we went, it was kind of muddy which made it that much harder. I have participated in indoor rock climbing for years but this scared me. There were times were my full body weight were on these ropes. Ropes someone else tied, who knows how well and how long ago! The fall itself is stunning but it is a little dangerous. Naturally there was tons of trash down there as well. If you take the path to the left, it is a easy walk to the top of the falls. Very beautiful and easy!

It is located in the old Waterdown, Ontario that is now merged into City of Hamilton. It is a curtain fall that is 10m high and 5m wide. It is beautiful, powerful and breathtaking. The huge rocks are a lot of fun to climb about but beware of rattlesnakes. I was born in the Town of Kinzua which, despite the objections of the Seneca Indian Nation, which had a treaty signed by George Washington covering their sections of land for as long as the grass grew and the sun shined, was broken, and flooded. So, as striking as the view may be, you're looking at yet another despicable act of a broken treaty with an Indian Nation. For the view, 5 Yelp Stars, for its appalling background of perfidy, I'll let you decide. By the way, the lake is commonly known as Lake Perfidy by the indigenous Seneca people.

There are a lot of large rocks and boulders that make for interesting exploration opportunities. There's a narrow staircase that cuts right through the rocks as part of the trail between the beach and the overlook. Whichever option you choose, the overlook is gorgeous and worth checking out the view!

We were so amazed by the continuous rock formations that had crevices of over 30feet deep in some places. My husband really enjoyed climbing through the endless crevices! Like a kid in the candy store! We are from the catskill mountains of NY with similar rock formations but none so concentrated like this was on a one mile walk! At the end we purchased quality merchandise, some handmade from the proprietors. We will be back!!
