The huge rocks are a lot of fun to climb about but beware of rattlesnakes. I was born in the Town of Kinzua which, despite the objections of the Seneca Indian Nation, which had a treaty signed by George Washington covering their sections of land for as long as the grass grew and the sun shined, was broken, and flooded. So, as striking as the view may be, you're looking at yet another despicable act of a broken treaty with an Indian Nation. For the view, 5 Yelp Stars, for its appalling background of perfidy, I'll let you decide. By the way, the lake is commonly known as Lake Perfidy by the indigenous Seneca people.

There are a lot of large rocks and boulders that make for interesting exploration opportunities. There's a narrow staircase that cuts right through the rocks as part of the trail between the beach and the overlook. There was something very different during our visit yesterday. There were two groups of people who…read morehad no respect for our beautiful park or the people that enjoy it. One group (approximately seven people) was at the popular "point". They had all of their belongings, plastic containers, blankets, trash (including a hammock hanging between two trees) scattered in the entire area of the point - it looked like they were living there. It was a filthy mess. No one other than the people occupying the area could enjoy the spot; they had taken it over as if they owned it . The other group was out on the metal dock (north part of the peninsula). Three men had their fishing poles and other gear scattered at the end so no one else could walk there. ALL of these folks were likely illegals. They didn't understand English. I asked them if they caught any fish and wished them a good day; no one seemed to understand what I was saying. I don't care who I offend by pointing this out. If you came here from a (likely) third world country, assimilate, respect our standards and our citizens. We need don't need more deadbeat humans that don't give a crap. LPSP officials, please help?! Ps, there was a huge amount of trash at the picnic table near the north metal dock that some nasty human(s) left there. It's high time we start holding people accountable for their actions.

I came out to Knox for the Borderland Music Festival. Now I know it's completely different when…read morethere is something happening but I had to talk about the beauty of this park. First off, I feel like the walking trails here are nice. More markers would be cool, but I like the ease of the trails. They have a dog park too which is great. I can't wait to come back with my pup before the snow and have her run around too. Everything is very open which makes it even more awe-inspiring and beautiful on a summer day. I also love all of the old architecture here too with the old stables, main house, etc. It really feels like a different place when you step foot on property. LIke being transported through time almost. The music festival was awesome here. I think the lay of the land, the older buildings, and the beauty of the park really amplify the event and make it feel even better than other possible locations in the area. I will definitely be back to visit the park, and back for the music festival.

Lots of activities to keep people engaged and show off the great asset that PI is to Erie. One thing they could do a bit better with this festival is communicating when events are changed/postponed/cancelled. The park itself is amazing and looks like the visitors and the staff take every good care of it.

Coming in the winter, did NOT know what to expect. Ok we came In mid March but it has still been…read morereally cold and snowy. I came with my son, and my parents in their 60s. They are able bodied but not fit so I had no idea what to expect. I feel like a lot of the reviews I could find through Yelp, Facebook, Reddit and all trails were very mixed. A lot of people saying it's easy, my kids can do it, current conditions are not very icy, you don't need spikes, etc. and then a lot of it's a moderate hike, if you can't easily walk up 100 stairs you should not do it, very slippery, wear spikes, etc. We all survived. Some of us slipped a little on the icy areas, one fell a few times but no injuries. There are a lot of railings and tree bark to hold onto near the icy or technical areas. I would recommend spikes if it's icy to get a better grip. My son and I are probably beginner to intermediate hikers. For us this was a moderate hike. For an avid hiker this would be an easy hike. Strictly talking in icy, wet, snowy conditions. During dry weather I assume it's much easier. Still very doable if you are not super active as my parents are not. It was a really cool sight at the end and very beautiful scenery with all the snow. We actually had a great time and I was really worried about not being prepared enough and someone getting hurt which wasn't the case thankfully
