My unfortunate experience with Erik a few days ago: Erik was a no-show for the first scheduled maintenance; despite me calling, after his onsite visit/quote, to confirm price and start date. When I called to see if he was coming, Erik didn't remember who I was nor did he have me on his schedule. He said he did not record me in his contacts and therefore was the reason for forgetting. He asked me to send photos so he could quote. I responded by reminding him he came onsite, walked the property and already quoted. He asked me what he quoted and when I told him scope and price, he repeated back a higher price. I thought he misheard me so I re-stated the quoted price to which he replied that he couldn't work for me. When asked why, he said because I changed (lowered) the price. (At this point, I wondered why he made such a statement since he didn't seem to remember me nor the property). I told him that I had written the price down in my notes, and that I even called to confirm the price and start date. He replied by asking if that was in December. My response: it was two weeks ago. He again said he couldn't work for me and accused me of lying and changing/lowering his price. When I reiterated that I had it written in my notes, he replied saying he also had written the quote down in his notes. I asked him how it is that he had written notes on a price despite stating earlier that he didn't have any record of me. His response, in a louder, more adamant tone, was to repeat that he couldn't work with me and again, accused me of being liar and trying to cheat him. I replied with, I guess it's just not meant to be. He texted me immediately after hanging up to tell me that I was confused and rude. I leave it to the reader's discretion to decide who was confused and rude... And btw, I would have paid the higher price had he used a more traditional, respectful, business approach--like saying something like his rates increased or he misquoted and needed to charge a higher rate. read more

I should have listened to the negative reviews on Erik. If you want an honest person to do business with- he is not for you. As mentioned by another review he will lie about rates and then call you a liar when you correct him. He won't apologize for his mistakes and just professionally tell you it wouldn't work out with his company. He goes out of his way to be rude and lie. And be a completely different person from when you first met him. One thing I have been told to do is to background checks on people I hire- I did and THAT explains a lot. We needed about 10 or so Photinia removed. Once we decided on a date, Erik and a couple of guys had these things mostly out in a couple of hours. Two of the Photina had huge root balls and they were completely removed in the next day or so. The project grew to removing a bunch of Vinca, raking up a boat load of leaves, and unburying an old pathway. He trimmed a small section of hedge, weeding and raking around it. He could only work three hours that day so said he would come back the next day as several hours worth of work remained. I was getting ready to leave and he demanded I pay him for that day on the spot to the tune of $145 or $50/hour. Really? I have never been asked to pay until the work was completed by any other yard service provider. I have long-term relationships with the people I hire and this young man has no understanding of that concept.
