Where to start? I am someone who for my entire life dreaded the dentist. Everything about it, the sterile waiting room with old magazines and smooth jazz, the weird smells and sounds of drills whirring out of sight. It made me anxious just thinking about it. That is, until I found the office of Dr Wipf and Sharron from a referral by a co-worker. I've experienced a full 180' in terms of my feelings towards going to the dentist. I actually enjoy it because Dr. Sharron has taken such amazingly good care of me. I originally had such apprehension and anxiety at my first appointment a few months ago, I thought I was going to get horrible news about how badly my teeth had been neglected over the years of avoiding the dentist. Instead, Dr. Sharron came in the room at my first visit and started asking me about myself and getting to know me, not even mentioning my teeth or what he thought would be necessary. It put me at such ease feeling like my doctor actually cared about me as a person and not just as a patient in his office. It turned out that I would require a few follow on appointments for fillings, which, while not the most comfortable thing in the world by any stretch of the imagination, were made completely painless and completely manageable by Dr. Sharron. During each appointment I was always made to feel like my comfort was the most important thing at all times. I can't tell you how much of a difference that made to my anxieties and fears, I always felt like I could stop at any point if anything wasn't comfortable for me, luckily I was never in any pain and got through each appointment very smoothly. After each and every visit Dr. Sharron would call or email me personally (usually in the evening, no doubt taking time out of his own day/dinner time with his family) to check on my status and see how I was feeling/recovering. I have never in my life had a customer experience that was so outstanding and heartfelt/genuine. It is so obvious that Dr. Sharron cares deeply about the wellbeing and care of his patients to a degree I've never experienced up to this point in my life. As long as I live in Santa Barbara I will be coming to see Dr. Sharron. I am actually looking forward to my 6 month cleaning, something I never in a million years thought I would say. I saw Dr Wipf based on my wife's recommendation and she was right. Dr Wipf was thorough, professional and explained in great detail my dental situation. I liked the state of the art CT Scan machine that that takes pictures if your teeth. My previous dentists never explained an X-ray so thoroughly. Huge fan of this office! The receptionist (Jeanie) is the biggest sweetheart but it doesn't stop there; Dr. Eric is incredibly personable, walks you through every part of the procedure and has an incredibly nice demeanor. I had a cavity (uggh) filled here and like most people i was dreading the process but with all their modern equipment ( i was numbed via a computerized injector) they had me in & out in 25 mins. Appointments are usually a few weeks out but Jeanie will do her best to fit you into a cancellation. Very nice office with a small town, know you by name over the phone, type of feel. As far as going to the dentist, I am a very reluctant patient. However, I had a toothache and was recommended by a friend to Dr. Wipf. Dr. Wipf is an incredible dentist. I was having an issue with a tooth that was misdiagnosed and treated by another dentist. Dr. Wipf gave me the possible scenarios and treatment options, and let me know that some aspects of the treatment were irreversible. This gave me a clear picture of the situation so I could make an informed decision about treatment. I have since felt much better and am hopeful that will continue. I have since seen Dr. Wipf several other times for other reasons and every time he gives me his time and attention to ensure we get the problem corrected. I needed a new dentist this month and chose Dr. Wipf because my wife told me how wonderful he is treating the developmentally disabled adults that she works with. He was able to squeeze me in for a consult before the holidays because of the pain I was experiencing, and schedule me for the procedures I needed. Dr. Wipf very clearly explained my options, why he thought I needed them done, and what I could expect. He is very kind and I feel at ease knowing he will take good care of my dental needs. FOLLOW-UP : April 16, 2016 Dr. Wipf extracted a cracked tooth in December 2015 and there was NO pain during or after the procedure. Yesterday he drilled into my jawbone to place a collar so in a few months, after healing, he can mount a crown on a post. Again, NO pain during or after the procedure. He is AMAZING! read more

On my first visit with Dr Wipf, I immediately knew this would be my new dental 'home.' First off, his staff is amazing, kind, and welcoming. It just feels good to walk in the door!! I have many dental issues, and some questionable sleep apnea. My 1st visit was so in-depth...he literally went over every tooth in my mouth! But the teaching he gave me in my first visit....was so above and beyond what I have ever learned from ANY other dentist I have been to! What he said made so much sense!
