Been going to Dr Westbury for several years. Have always appreciated his sense of humor and gentle, calm approach. Today I stopped in the office just to pay my bill and to make a follow-up appointment with his hygienist. She was out of the office, so Dr Westbury asked me what was wrong, and I told him I was feeling a rough spot between two of my molars. Without a moment's pause, he plopped me down in a chair and proceeded to examine my molars, took his instrument and began chipping away at the bad spot. He explained that there was a small fragment of tooth that had broken off and gotten caught between the two molars. Within seconds, he had freed the offending particle. I 'd had no appointment scheduled, he just took the time to dig in and fix a problem and didn't charge me a penny. He is the best!!!!! read more

What a disappointment to deal with the person who answers the phone there. I had an appointment but could not make it on time to call and cancel. I ruptured my Achilles tendon and was off my feet, on narcotics, and on bedrest for 3 straight weeks and during that time I did call, explain, and reschedule. I'm also a high school teacher and work until 3:00 just for clarification. The appointment I rescheduled was their last of the day (3:30) if I recall correctly. F'n traffic from Carp to SB after school (usually 10-15 minutes at most but this time it was an accident along with 101 road work). I called from my car and told them that the unexpected traffic would delay me and either I need to cancel again and reschedule or I would be there as soon as possible but a little late, if they didn't mind waiting 15 minutes. The lady on the phone said to reschedule if I couldn't make the appointment time "even if traffic is my excuse". Now I'm a liar, I guess. So here we are now, summer time, no school or traffic to deal with. No more excuses from me. I did call to reschedule and now they won't take my appointment. Yes, I missed two appointments that were out of my control. The complete no show was my fault. I shouldn't have ruptured my Achilles tendon. And excuse me for being a caring teacher who would rather schedule the last appointment of the day instead of take time off of work, away from students. In summary (0 Stars if allowed) Unfriendly person answering phone. Unsympathetic to legit medical reason for the no-show. Awkward hours. They don't like teachers or education of our youth. I'm wondering if my last name has anything to do with them not wanting to care for me. What other Perios are around SB that do care for brown teachers? Let me know because I've got work for them... unless my teeth fall out first waiting for an appointment. read more

I have been referred to him on several occasions for tricky procedure that he handled flawlessly including three gum transplants and that required cutting back my gums. The office is clean and well located, the safety protocols are well-thought out and consistently applied, and communicating with them is easy and efficient. Only writing this review because I went to Dr. Westbury for "deep pocket cleaning" for over 20 years. I stopped after the dental hygienist questioned the DOCTORS gum probe numbers, like - weren't they the same as she had on the chart? As if my pockets couldn't get better? The las straw was when she told me there where NO studies where water jet flossing had improvement over regular dental floss. She told me this in NO uncertain terms. Ignorant B that she was, not only could I find one study that showed it was better, I could find two that showed it was better and one that showed it was the same. Why am I going to such ignorant people to work on my teeth? I am not. read more

Doctor Westbury saved me. Before I was referred to him, I was treated before by "bad" dentists, and had no idea of the extend of the damages that were over-looked. He performed surgery, and had been carefully monitoring them after the deep cleaning I had to have every three months. His staff is top, courteous, and efficient. Dr. Westbury has been an excellent periodontist for me. I had gum surgery last week to repair a receding gum around a canine. The surgery was over in less than an hour, pain minimal, and Dr. Westbury has wonderful "bedside manners" and followup. Today I get some sutures out and again a very positive experience. I took my 15 yr old daughter here for a procedure and had a terrible experience! The procedure went fine but my daughter who is terrified of needles had a small freak out before he started and is probably scared for life! He yeld at her and aggressively pushed the side of her face several times until she looked at him. I had to ask him to stop touching her... my blood was boiling and I almost ripped her out of the chair and went off on the guy!! He's a jerk! Not the place for a scared child!!! Dr. Westbury is so skilled from years of practice that he can give lidocaine shots without any pain at all. He did a gum graft for me and it is healing quickly. He explained everything he was doing as he did it and is an extremely pleasant person as are the other people in his office. Scheduling was super easy. No waiting. Just outstanding! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Westbury for at least 20 years for periodontal disease. He's outstanding! As others have said, his bedside manner is warm, friendly, and reassuring. He has a light touch and, although I've undergone several procedures with him, it was always with a minimum of pain or discomfort. My periodontal issues are now under complete control, and I give him total credit for that. I might mention that the dental hygienists who work with him are also terrific. (I went elsewhere for a year to have my teeth cleaned and I paid the price.) Trust me, I don't always give five star reviews, but Dr. Westbury has earned his. read more

Had an implant placed here about 8 years ago, and I am having problems with it already. I called to see what my options are, and the person was unhelpful and told me I am out of luck. I was told this was going to be a permanent solution, looks like my idea of permanent and theirs is 2 different things. read more
