Always feel taken care of, and that my concerns are addressed honestly and thoughly with Dr. Laudig. I've had another dentist downtown say I needed ALL my old fillings replaced and gave me a wild pre estimate. I went back to Laudig, and he reassured me I had 2 fillings that required the most urgent attention. He was so gentle and skilled with the fillings. I've seen two hygienists there and feel they are adequate and personable. Front office staff is very competent. My husband and I switched to Dr. Laudig after a horrible experience at another dentist. Dr. Laudig and his team were incredibly kind, professional and friendly. My husband needed a lot of work done and Dr. Laudig worked with us on walking us through the whole process, step by step. I'm so grateful for his team! The only note is that I've had issues with their billing, and not being notified of bills when they came in. One time they didn't send me a bill for over 6 months, and I often had to call direct to stay on top of it. In addition, often when I've made payments the front desk team wouldn't initially see them, and would request I pay the original balance in full. They were super friendly though, and when I'd remind them of the payments, they'd go to verify and confirm my previous payments. They said their billing system is changing - so hopefully it'll work a lot smoother! This is the only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars. Definitely would recommend Dr. Laudig! read more

Let me start by saying I truly hate going to the dentist. I have had several bad experiences over the years, and had been putting off getting a crown after a root canal. I finally made an appointment with Dr. Laudig, and from the first phone call I knew this office was a step above the rest. Everyone that works here is kind, understanding, and helpful. So I needed to find a dentist and wanted a office close to home. Cal Dr. Laudig office and from the first phone call I felt welcomed. They scheduled me in a timely manner. Arrived today and I felt safe with all the precautions they have in place for Covid! The receptionist were helpful and welcoming. Dr. Laudig is professional and very welcoming, I didn't feel like I was being reprimanded about my teeth but felt he was more concerned and ready to get the ball going. I am a student in Santa Barbara and haven't visited the dentist in a few years! Usually I hate the dentist and have a hard time trusting people to make sure I find the right dentist! I saw all the amazing reviews and decided to give this office a chance, and I'm so glad I did!! The whole experience (aside from the bill, but idk how they can make that more enjoyable) was fantastic from the moment I walked in the door. The receptionists are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The hygienist was the nicest and she did an INCREDIBLE job (I think she is a bit of a meticulous perfectionist, honestly) on my first cleaning in several years as well as efficiently and adeptly taking my xrays. They were practically done before I even realized what was happening! The dentist himself is very personable and takes his time to convey his view of your dental health from an expert perspective and make it quite understandable. To top it all off, they sent me home with all kinds of goodies. Not to create any expectations but there were free drinks in the fridge, the standard take home dental kit plus a very nice aluminium water bottle! One small thing but I won't take a star off for this: it is a little hidden on the second floor but if you are near the DMV and USMC recruiting center, that's the right place! read more

It's not too difficult to get an appointment and you can request for a callback, should there be a cancellation. It was always a pleasant experience whenever I went in for appointments! I've been living in Santa Barbara about 10 years and this is the best Dentist in town! Brought my 13 year old daughters here last week and after we got home they told me that they LOVED our new dentist! I've never heard them say that before! I just went for a check-up and cleaning today and Shirley is soooo nice and very gentle when cleaning your teeth. Dr. Laudig was also very nice and professional and answered all of my questions\concerns. Went in for my first teeth cleaning today and my teeth immediately felt so much cleaner and smoother afterwards than when I first walked in. Shirley did my cleaning for me - a very sweet woman with great bedside manners and professionalism. I made another appointment to do a deep scaling and filling for a cavity because now I'm convinced that my mouth is gross and I still want to be able to chew with my own set of teeth by the time I'm 60. Remember, you only get one set of teeth. It's also great that they take UCSB insurance (for broke students like me) which covered my regular teeth cleaning! I was going to wait until Sept to come back for my deep scaling & filling since I do have pay a deductible on that, but Pam and Dr. Laudig accommodated me so that I can still get the procedure done in a couple of weeks and pay for it ideally that works for me. Great bedside manners. Professional. Friendly. Comfortable atmosphere. Solidified my first impression. Highly recommend. read more

I am a UCSB student and I couldn't get a teeth cleaning appointment with UCSB Dental Clinic before my vacation so I made appointment with this place since they are covered by the school's insurance. They really treat their patients well, in the waiting room there is a mini fridge with free bottled drinks for their patients. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. I just got my teeth cleaned there and I will say that she was as skilled as the dental hygienist at UCSB. When I met Laudig for a consultation regarding a crown, he was very professional and took time to answer all my questions.This place is also a good economical choice because he tries to give discounts to cash paying patients. Had the greatest time at Dr. Laudigs office. I was a new patient and had a cavity. It was definitely the most painless operation I have ever experienced in my life, considering I had a cavity in a hard to reach place. The best experience though was the two gorgeous receptionists who checked me in (Pam and Vanessa) who didn't make the process frustrating for me. Dr. Sturgeon and Ludig are amazing! I have been moving around the past few years and found this gem during college at UC Santa Barbara in an emergency situation and they were the only dentist office I felt I could trust as well as accepted my insurance (major plus if you want to use school dental insurance as well). They have done wonders for me, seriously. After breaking my teeth twice, needing a crown and getting into a car accident, they have helped me every step of the way. No one would ever be able to tell, they do such a good job! For all other health needs, the entire office is friendly and reliable. Pam, the receptionist is so genuine and caring and will do anything to get you in for an appointment. I'm pretty sure the whole office has come in during their lunch hour for me before... Every single person in this office is so welcoming and responsive. Customer service alone, this place would get 5 stars. Plus, both dentists are well trained and very experienced. They give you the honest truth, even if it's what you don't want to hear. They actually want you to save your money, unlike a lot of places I've been to in the past.
