    Hanging Out With My Friends!

I felt right at home here at Erin Rose. It's a straight up dive. It's a bit trashy looking but lots of fun. They're known for their Frozen Irish Coffees. It's a great ice creamy, buzzy beverage that'll make you want to come back the next day and have another or two. It was busy on a Wednesday evening but the bartender dude was hustling so there really wasn't much of a wait to get drinks. I'm really looking forward to another visit so I'm calling this a 5 star experience.

This was a must stop on our trip since I had seen so many videos of the frozen Irish coffee. It did not disappoint at all! It was a quick in and out stop for us so I can't say too much on the vibe. It was packed, but we were able to get a drink quickly, and I wish we would have gotten two! The frozen irish coffee was $8 and they have a $10 minimum on cards, so I just got a bottle water as well which the bartender offered. The coffee is delicious. I could have drank 10.

Just get the damn frozen Irish coffee with an extra shot of peanut butter screwball, YA WELCOME. Cute small dive-y bar. Loved the kick ass woman bartender that was holding it down while I was there. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone around here was happy. I'd definitely comeback!!!

Yes, the frozen Irish coffee alone is worth the trip here. Aside from that, friendly service and dive bar atmosphere make this a worthwhile FQ pit stop

It's all about the frozen Irish coffee. Although it's worth a stop to appreciate the old school bar ambience. Plus the service was fast and friendly.

What was supposed to be a frozen Irish coffee turned out to be watery because the machine was broken... only they didn't tell us that.

Soooo, this time wasn't so good as far as my review goes. I couldn't wait to get my hands on their famous frozen coffee here on a Friday night during Mardi Gras. There was a short line to get in and you had to show ID at the door no questions asked! If you didn't have your id you weren't getting in and rightfully so. It was tight getting in here as you can imagine. We ordered the classic and famous frozen Irish coffee and it was a complete letdown. It was watery and they failed to tell us the machine was broken. Had we know that we wouldn't have ordered them. The female bartender in there wasn't very pleasant but I gave her a break considering what they must go through during Mardi Gras. We still drank our watered coffee and then left. It was mad jammed in there so we couldn't wait to get out of there lol. Maybe next time.

Came here randomly as they were a place a local said we could find a good po boy and watch football. Downfall is there is limited seating. This is def a dive bar with punk vibes ( nothing wrong with that) you have the main bar on the left. Then there are small seats up against a wall. Walk on through the back area where you order food. Theres one semi long table to sit and eat. Funny story was we came there with the mindset on po boy, but ended up eating the whiskey bourbon grilled cheese. It was really good. Glad i did not get any sides. We both filled up with this sandwich. We literally could split one on our own. We saved them for later. Their restrooms are so small. I felt like i was on an airplane bathroom. Idk what it is about restrooms in the french quarter but why so small? How aren't any of you clausterphobic? I did enjoy their decor!!

Need a pick me up? Stop by Erin Rose for a delicious - and spiked - Irish coffee. I loved the decor and the place was absolutely packed with locals and tourists alike!

Popped in for a drink on Saint Paddy's and despite how busy the bar was the service was quick and friendly, 5 stars to the bartenders. Make sure to have your ID ready, I left my ID at home the second time and wasn't able to come in, but that's my fault. Door guy was friendly regardless which we all appreciated.

Really cool dive bar just off Bourbon St. A local bartender recommended we go here, and it didn't disappoint. This place was packed midday on a Saturday. The frozen irish coffee with a shot of Jameson was awesome. The Beef Po'Boy was amazing! It tasted very similar to a Chicago beef. Really a flavorful mix of savory and salty beef with the pickled veggies. Definitely a worthwhile place to give a try.

Grungy and yummy. This is a cool hole in the wall, somewhat off the beaten path of the French Quarter. I ordered a shrimp poboy and chips based on a recommendation. The chips complimented the sandwich perfectly. Solid late night bites and laid back vibes without being too toursity.

Stopped by for the famous frozen Irish coffee. Small bar but bartender was attentive and quick. The drink didn't disappoint. Nice on a warm day. Plus it was topped off and it hit the spot.

    Famous Frozen Irish Coffee Recipe!!

Erin Rose is an absolute gem nestled in Bourbon Street.. a vibrant, iconic Irish pub that offers an unforgettable experience from the moment you walk through its doors. It's the kind of place that has become more than just a bar; it's a local institution, bursting with character, charm, and that unmistakable New Orleans spirit. The drink selection is impressive, especially for what some might call a "dive bar." They offer a variety of well-crafted beverages including the legendary Frozen Irish Coffee, an absolute must-try, and Iconic Bloody Marys. Their whiskey list is extensive, featuring an excellent range of Irish whiskeys, and yes, they have Guinness on tap, alongside local favorites like Abita Brewing Co.'s craft selections. We visited Erin Rose twice during our three-day stay in New Orleans, and both times were an absolute delight. The Frozen Irish Coffee alone is worth the visit, it's creamy, perfectly balanced, and surprisingly refreshing in the humid Louisiana heat. We decided to enhance it with an extra shot of Jameson (highly recommended), which brought the total to just $10. Not only was it delicious, but it came in a reusable plastic cup, perfect for strolling the streets of the French Quarter with drink in hand, because yes, it's New Orleans. What really makes Erin Rose stand out, though, is its ambience. The walls and ceiling are covered with layers of memories, eclectic memorabilia, heartfelt messages, quirky decorations, each telling a piece of the story of the countless patrons who've passed through over the years. You can truly feel the history here. There's even a cheeky mention of the "secret" Frozen Irish Coffee recipe hidden somewhere inside if you're observant enough (hint: check the walls!). Although we originally hoped to try a po'boy from the tucked-away kitchen in the back, the line was too long and chaotic during our visit around 2 p.m. After 20 minutes with no movement, we decided to skip it. But honestly, that didn't take away from the experience, we were there for the drinks and the vibes, and both exceeded expectations. Service at the bar was also impressive. Despite how packed it gets (and it does get packed), the bartenders are attentive, friendly, and efficient. Even during peak hours, they make eye contact, acknowledge you, and get your order out fast, and they do it all with a smile and zero attitude. Tip them well, they deserve it! Erin Rose is the kind of place that stays with you. Sure, you can try to recreate the Frozen Irish Coffee at home (and I've included a photo of the recipe in my review!), but the ambiance, the energy, and the community you feel while sitting at this bar can't be replicated. Whether you're a local or a first-time visitor, this pub should absolutely be on your must-visit list in New Orleans. We'll definitely be back, it's that kind of bar that makes you feel like you belong, even if it's just for a short while.

I've been to Fahy's a few times for drinks and pool with local friends in the last year or two. Generally great prices and people. However, I came by last night, Sunday, April 26th, 2026, for pool on my own for the first time as a lone woman, around dusk. The earlier bartender when I arrived was a nice, attentive gentleman I've seen before who knew his stuff and handled things! I warmed up on the pool table, and then played my first pool game with a man who, unfortunately, got very aggressive in his speech with me, suggesting things like "women need to bend to men like good females should on the pool table", accused me of cheating, and then uncomfortably questioned me about dating unrelated men I did not know there who were playing on the second pool table. The hostility disturbed me, but I finished our pool game, in which I lost in fairness, and then he refused to shake hands, be cordial, and continued to cause a scene interpersonally around the tables. I would love for problems to have ended there. But... I left the pool tables concerned after this encounter, while he lingered, and I tried to talk with the new bartender who started the late shift a bit after, a young woman with long dark hair, who started bartending around 8 or 9pm. I tried to tell her, at the edge of the bar alone, as I ordered another drink, that there might be an aggressive man over by the tables, and I just wanted to say that, in my own words to her-- to the bartender in charge, on record PRIVATELY, woman to woman , in case he kept being aggressive with me-- that this might continue to be a problem, and that I hoped he wouldn't keep being weird with me, because I wanted to stay and keep drinking and playing pool with others respectfully. The bartender did not listen to my concern about a what happened with any basic neutrality or professionalism. She cut me off loudly at first, and yelled, "DO YOU WANT ME TO CALL YOU A CAB???" -- with zero awareness, as if I was some dumb drunk tourist lost from Jazz Fest, and despite me being a local resident with my own transportation, and with a bar tab still open. What's worse, at this same time, there was a man sitting at the bar next to me, who was more of a regular at Fahy's than me apparently, who overheard my one-on-one disclosure to the bartender. This second man interjected on my private conversation, and condescendingly accused me of lying as a woman making up a "problems" at "his bar". The bartender uncritically accepted this intrusion on my conversation. She further encouraged more of this "local" customer group to gang up on me, belittle me, and to physically get in my face as a lone woman for attempting to privately complain about unacceptable male behavior, while the bartender claimed, "that's my regulars", suggesting that I was the problem and that I needed to leave. I did not want any further attention from others over the issue, and yet she unprofessionally encouraged other patrons to interact with me when I was concerned. Are bartenders supposed to escalate violent "mob mentality" behavior with their customers to protect one creepy drunk? Is this an appropriate standard for a bar, and as if New Orleans businesses should function as high school popularity contests with a teenage level of maturity while intoxicated? Again, as a bartender and professional myself, I know how to handle and mediate a private complaint, and Fahy's staff this last Sunday night showed the absolute worst way such a situation could have been handled. The bartender in the later hours had absolutely no professionalism nor discretion with my concern for misogynistic behavior that concerned me as a woman, and which I tried to keep private, and in which I wanted to not disturb her bar in general. I really hope other bartenders here don't handle patrons' concerns in such a dangerously dismissive manner. The point is, bars with pool tables will attract problems. It's up to a bar's management if they're capable of being responsible for it and maintaining a respectful culture for all. As a local who used to recommend friends to swing by Fahy's as a rare, relatable, and reliable dive bar in the quarter, I will not do so again. Why would I spend my hard earned money again, or tell others to, in such an unsafe, rude environment? Fahy's needs to get its bartenders and security tight because what I experienced as a female local pool lover and drinker was NOT OKAY.

Yet, it seems quite popular with locals and was fairly full for a Tuesday Trivia Night. I ordered a Pimm's cup since Pimm's was on the shelf - the bartender looked confused and told me they don't have any of the ingredients to make one. I changed my order to a flavored vodka - they don't stock any. I ended up ordering a Vodka & 7, but received a Vodka Soda. Were the drinks cheap? Not so much. Was the service friendly? Not so much. I ordered food hoping this was the redeeming feature of the bar. I ordered a steak sandwich at $18 - the service time was quick but the sandwich didn't have much flavor - it was a dry, difficult to bite through thin steak with not much flavor to speak of. The tater tots were crispy and hot and I loved the Brussel Sprouts; they were doused excessively in the dressing but I liked it. There is a nice patio out back - they had fans in this area which is always appreciated. This bar just didn't have the stock and amenities that many other bars in the area do have . Walk to magazine street for better options.
