Wow! I had such a different experience than Steven S. The owner told me he would have the adjustments done in 1 week. I called about 10 days later to tell him I was coming to get the dress. He told me he was NOT done. Then I called 4 days after that ( 2 weeks total) and was told maybe he would finish that day and maybe the next day. I called 16 days after bringing the dress in and was told call back later. It seemed they were annoyed with me. Within an hour of that answer that sounded like they were annoyed with me I started to feel uneasy, so I called back hoping to really communicate with someone to find out what is really going on. I spoke with the owner and he said, " I can not get this done in 1 day." I tried to explain nicely that I brought the dress in over 2 weeks ago and was told it would take one week, but I was cut off with an angry I will work on it today. I did get my dress that day between 4 & 5 pm. The adjustments on the top were done well but the hem was messed up. But I decided to just pay him and take my dress and get away from him. Now I am looking for someone to fix the hem. read more

If I could rate ZERO stars I would. Complete disaster of a shop. Save your time and money and go ANYWHERE else. I dropped off two new items that needed a simple hem. The guy that runs the shop (Ermira??) said it would be done within 5 days. He had me write my name and phone number on a post it note. After no call, I returned 7 days later. First, he couldn't find the items and then made an excuse that he was "too busy with prom dresses" and didn't finish them. He would have them done by the following Monday. He said he would call me. I wrote down my name and number again on another post it. By the way, he has piles of papers and stuff everywhere. I should have seen it as a red flag then. Not happy for the additional wait time, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said I could wait a few more days. Again, never got a call so the following Tuesday I go back to the shop. Again, he spends at least 10-15 minutes rummaging through PILES OF CLOTHING and STUFF he has piled all around the shop. Finally, pulls my two new items OFF THE FLOOR UNDER A clothing rack and says "oh here they are, they aren't done yet." Yeah I can see that! And they were dirty having been dragged around for two weeks buried under a cart of who knows what. I was speechless but he says "I can have them done later today" Ummm no, you have had my things for over two weeks, now suddenly you aren't busy and can do them. I don't think so. I went down the street to Elianna's Alterations and had them done in 2 days. Cost me $6.00 more and well worth it. This guy needs to clean up his shop and get a system to keep track of his customer's items. Complete. Disaster. read more

I feel scammed of my money. I bring 3 pairs of pants to the shop to tailor the waist. They were done very late of when we agreed on and most importantly they didn't even fit my waist! He stated "they will shrink when you wash it". Excuse me what!? I didn't pay you $64 to rely on them fitting me on my waist when I wash it. I also don't plan on shrinking them, he didn't even give me a discount for the trouble I went through or gave me a solution. read more

I called in and a friendly gentleman answered my call and I had measurements taken for free for a custom suit I was ordering from elsewhere. When I got my suit I needed a few alterations done and returned without an appointment and the same gentleman was working. I tired on the pants and he said it wouldn't be a problem. I had a hem let down and the inner thigh/back of the pants taken in. It was $30 total and I paid in cash. I dropped the pants off that day and it was ready within 48 hours, the day in between was a holiday. I couldn't be more pleased in how quickly the alterations were made. The pants fit much better and I am happy to have found a tailor in that area who was able to help me with everything I needed. It's a small-ish spot located in the same plaza as Karma and Cajun Chicken. The dressing room I used was very spacious. I had a good experience with my measurements and alterations there. read more

I had a black dress that needed the sleeves shortened so of course I checked yelp for alteration places. On Tuesday I called ahead to ask if I needed an appointment, the man who answered assured me no appointment was needed. I stopped by after work with my dress and the man who took my call was the only one there. He had me try on the dress to measure the sleeves. Leaving the dress there he promised the alteration would be done by the same time the next day. The next day I was at work too late and wasn't able to pick up the dress. I didn't need the dress until Saturday so I stopped by Thursday after work instead. The same man was there. My dress was not done...in fact it had not been moved from the garment rack he hung it on when I dropped it off a few days earlier. He had no explanation for why it was not done but plenty of reassurances that it would be done by tomorrow. I told him I needed the dress for Saturday night. I would call tomorrow to make sure it was done. Called Friday, still not done. I told him I was coming Saturday to get it, that was it. Saturday morning came and low and behold the dress was finally done. The work was decent and the sleeves fit fine. If I was a bride and they had my wedding dress... put me through the same treatment and there would be some bridezilla going on! Two stars because the alterations were good, service was terrible. read more

With a trip in 2 days, I had my sewing machine finally call it quits. Of course I had some items to alter that I really wanted to have for the trip - 2 dresses that needed the hems taken up and one tank top that needed the straps shortened. Both were quick jobs, but everyone I called in the area wanted 4-5 days and would send the work out. I came across Ermira's and decided to check them out. Mike greeted me and could not have been more accommodating. I dropped the 3 items off at noon and Mike called at 2pm to let me know my items were ready for pick-up. While getting things done fast is a bonus, getting them done well is the key. They delivered on quality; so much so that I think their hem is better quality than the original. Ermira's scores on all points - convenient, courteous, quick, and quality work. Being new to the area, I am thrilled to have found Ermira's and will be seeing them again often. read more

Owner owns this shop and the Upholstery shop next door. He says he can not sew a simple pillowcase FFS. I wasted my time trying to locate this store and all he could say to me was he could not show a cushion cover (pillow I had with me) Fortunately for me I found this out before dragging an actual cushion from my couch to his store to be fixed. I have take a few garments for alternation in the past with perfect results. I recently took a velour top to have altered a smidge at one shoulder neckline. The top crosses over and one side was to big. I could have done this myself, but I decided to bring it in since I really liked the past work, and it's convenient. There was a man there, I have never seen before. I have only dealt with a woman I assumed to be the owner. It appeared the man knew what he was doing until I tried on the altered top. The fabric on the side he altered was puffy. I could not believe it. He gave all kinds of excuses and said maybe steaming it would help. He steamed the top and just relocated the puffy spot. I tried to explain to him the seam graduation of the alteration was not gradual enough, which cause the puffiness. He said the material was difficult to work with (I have brought dresses in with difficult material, and never an alteration issue). Every time I would try and speak, he would cut me off, like I had no idea what I was talking about. I found him rude and unwilling to understand what I was saying. I have sewing experience. His ideal fix now is to take out the sleeve to correct the puffiness. If only he had graduated the initial fix as I asked, but there was no listening on his part. Needless to say, I will not be returning to pick up the top. Nor will I ever go there again. read more

This is the last time I am ever coming here and I will rather trust my inexperienced and unskillful self with an alteration than this dude. I dropped of my romper here and I needed it to be taken in under the arm, just an inch or so. He assured me he was going to do it. He took my name and my number and said he was going to call me as soon as the work was done. A couple of days passed,I was skeptical about calling him since he told me that he was going to call me and I didn't want to put any type of pressure on him. I mean it wasn't like I had to use the romper the next day or so. As time went by, I myself forgot that he still had my stuff till I had this event and thought the dress would suit it, then remembered it was still with this guy. Mind you, this was over a month! A month and he had not called me back. I went to his store, pissed and asked why he had not called me like he said he would. All he could say was I was supposed to call him instead. So I guess he took my number and name just for the fun of it. I didn't want to argue,I went ahead and asked him for the romper so I could pay and leave. He pointed to a rack at the corner and ask me to go through the clothes on it, I should find mine in there. I went over and went through every thing and my stuff wasn't there. I told him and he came over to help me look. As soon as I stepped back to give him some space I glanced over at a pile of clothes on his table and there a saw a familiar color. I went over and picked it up and it was my poor romper :( It still had the pins he had put in them the day I dropped it off and even the sticky note that he had attached on it with the work description. I was heated. A month and he still hadn't touched my stuff. When I asked why he had not touched it yet,He rudely told me I was supposed to call him and reminded him to work on my romper. That means I was supposed to remind him to do his job! A job he is paid for? Naaa that's unheard of! I sat there while he worked on it, took it and promised never to return. I wouldn't advise no one to go here. Especially if it's for an emergency alteration. And when I say emergency I mean a week before the event, not even a couple of days. Lesson learned!! read more

Dropped of 2 pair of dress pants to be altered on a Thurs, Mike said it would be done "few days" I wrote my name & number on a sticky note.. a sticky note!? Mike said he would call me when done, no call. 11 days later, we show up assuming pants were ready since it had been 11 days. After digging Mike found them, still in the "to do" pile come back tomorrow. OK..no biggie, we left came back same time Tuesday, Mike again had to dig around to find them. He said come back tomorrow I will have them done. Came back Wed, He showed me he cut the length and marked the pants with chalk but nothing else. He said will have done Thursday, we came back day 4 of "it will be ready tomorrow". He was finally working on them, but not done he told us to "go away, go do something I have them done in 10 minutes". All I could do was turn and walk away, keeping calm, shocked he spoke to me like that. Sat in the car for 10 min, back in and he is finally making progress, but not done. I am not a happy camper but I keep it together and say nothing, at this point I just want the pants and to get out of there. Finally done, he says ok $58 and then charges me $61....14 days later I finally have my pants.. but, shocked at the way I was treated and overcharged! Never again!!! read more

Completely ruined my wife's bridesmaid dress. Didn't even bother to tell her it was ruined, either. She picked it up and took it home to try on (the day before the wedding) and it was unevern and the zipper no longer zipped, because the way he sewed around the zipper distorted it, making it impossible to zip any longer. She had to have someone sew her into the dress the day of the wedding. He was also very unprofessional. The price would've been decent, had he not ruined the expensive dress in the process. read more

This place is absolutely terrible!!!!!! I brought my dress to get altered and I spent half an hour trying to explain what I wanted done and every response he gave me was "this is a lot of work". He also cuts you off every time you speak a single word. I dropped my dress off 10 days before my flight and he didn't finish it until 11pm the night BEFORE my flight and didn't even call to say it was going to be that late. Asked him to make accommodations for me for the sake of being so unprofessional and late and he says "you don't appreciate how late I work"....ummmmm no I don't because I'm not your wife. I'm not here to appreciate your late hours. I'm here to get the service paid $120 for. This man is unbelievable and super pricey and the work is so generic and he has no work ethic or professionalism. If I could give 0 stars I would! DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR MONEY!!!!!! read more

Horrible experience! First of all, the store is a dump... unfinished/uneven floors, junk all over the place, makeshift "dressing room" which is just a tiny little particle board cubicle, no A/C, etc... I brought a suit in on a Friday afternoon to have the sleeves shortened and the pants hemmed. I told Mike I wanted a full break in the pants and my shirt cuffs to show when I "popped" my coat sleeves (which is very typical for how men wear suits these days). Mike measured me, pinned up the suit, and said "No Problem". I asked him if I could have it by Monday afternoon as I had interviews scheduled for the following week, and he told me "sure, no problem, I will call you Sunday evening to let you know its ready for Monday". I received NO claim ticket, work order, or receipt of any kind, and as I was pulling away, I thought to myself that that was rather odd, but gave him the benefit of the doubt as he was friendly and polite. Sunday evening came and went with no call from Mike, so I called the shop around 1 PM on Monday afternoon, only to find out the store was closed (presumably for Presidents Day, which is fine, but don't tell me you'll have my suit ready on a day you're closed). Tuesday morning I gave the shop another call to inquire if my suit was ready, only to hear "no, that suit wont be ready until tomorrow".. starting to get quite annoyed... Wednesday afternoon; "I'm calling to see if my suit is ready"..."sorry, no, the pants wont be done until the seamstress comes in tomorrow, you can check in with me tomorrow after 1 PM" ... Not pleased at all at this point... Thursday afternoon; I call in to the shop and the suit is finally ready... When I put the suit pants on, they are certainly not a full break, but it is a tapered pant leg and it actually looks good, so I say nothing,, then I try the coat on... The sleeves still come halfway down my backhand, and I look like a teenager wearing one of his Dad's old coats which is too big for him. When i question Mike about this, he begins explaining all this technical sewing jargon that means nothing to me, but bottom line, given the confines of the coat, he can NOT shorten it to desired length. I understand there are situations where you can only do so much, but tell me that upfront. I would have returned the suit, had I known the limitations. Mike actually tried to say he had discussed this with me before hand, which is absolutely not true. Then when I went to pay, he tells me he has no credit card machine, and can not take credit or debit, and tried to get me to walk over to a barber shop to take money out of the ATM. I needed to get my wedding dress bustled and while other shops in the area gave me a quote of $100-$150, mike did it for a FRACTION of that price! And while the cost was cheap, the work wasn't - he did an amazing job on my dress and it was done in two days. Plus, Mike was incredibly nice which is always a bonus.
