This is my Second review of La Balance Cafe (adding another picture). All the food here remains Incredibly Tasty ... Today I had a Carnita Platter from the Drive Thru and it was Outstanding... before I get to the taste, let me say that the Smell was heavenly. The Carnitas are lean, not fatty, and not greasy... I Love them! Their beans are so good that i dropped the Time this time and Doubled the Beans. With a bottle of Mexican Coke, so good. Prices are fair and service always the best! Check it out! Had lunch with a friend on recommendation to try this family owned restaurant. It's small place very clean and hospitable service. The food was good but highly priced for the portions. It was good overall but nothing too amazing to write home about. We ordered margaritas but be warned they are not the real thing but was refreshing mocktail. Oh my gosh! Been here before and this place is an absolute diamond!! Oh man! Everything here is soooo good! This morning we had the quesadilla! I don't even know where to start the meat was seasoned perfectly! And for me...I love their hot sauce! Soooo YUMMY! It's June and it's hot outside in this town...but not inside my mouth and tummy! Very good Tex Mex beans are good . Enchiladas were a little dry but good . I would go back and try their French food they offer.

Menudo was excellent and the portion was huge! I had to take the rest to go. Very friendly and courteous staff. We will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. read more

True Traditional Mexican Breakfast! The food was delicious and prepared to our specifications. The gentleman who waited on us was very friendly and patient. The only thing I would skip next time would be the coffee and tea orders. Way overpriced! $5 for tea and $4 for black coffee. I will be back! read more

The food was absolutely phenomenal here! My mom and husband had the chilaquiles(red and green) and I had the fajita quesadillas. The salsa was out of this world. We are new to the area and decided to stop in here today. The service and ambiance were just perfect. We were taken care of very well by the staff. The Tex-Mex Burrito, Pozole Blanco, and guacamole were absolutely delicious. We loved the freshness of all the homemade ingredients. My brother usually takes our 87 yr old mom to breakfast as she lives near him. This Saturday he was out of town so I got to take mom out. When I picked her up I asked what she wanted and she said she didn't care. Me being on a "new place" and taco kick Yelled "breakfast tacos near me" and LaBalance came up as close by and one I've never been to before. So off we go. It was close, like 2 miles away. I'd passed it many times and have no idea why I hadn't stopped before. We were treated by the owner and seated. Menus brought out and various hot sauce bottles put out. The menu had several breakfast items but what caught my attention was an off menu plate I had no idea what it was. The owner said it was Chilaquiles. He described it and that what I went with. They brought out a place with something I've never had before - next to 2 fried eggs (my choice) and seriously good refried black beans, was a pile of corn tortilla chips tossed in a red sauce with a crema sauce, cilantro y avocado sliced on top. (See the pic). The beans and eggs were very good, bet the "red chips" were outstanding and a bit spicy. The were still crispy and had a great flavor from the sauce. And again, some heat! I just about ate it all, huge plate, but I was done. As for my mom, she had the Fulshear Supreme breakfast burrito. Packed with about everything, it too looked good and she said so. She ate half and the rest went home. The owner and his wife were supper nice and explained a bit of their history. Originally they were an Italian restaurant and wine bar but Covid stooped that and rebranded as a Mexican restaurant. He said the specialize in true Mexican food as opposed to Tex-Mex - similar foods with a different flavor. Owners wife said they still do wine tasting so we're gonna look into that. I'll definitely be back and report back the next dish I have. read more

Omg, SO GOOD! I had the crunchy taco plate and they were FULL of flavorful meat and the beans and rice were perfect! I also had their chocolate mousse cake and it was the perfect finish to an awesome lunch. Next time I'll be brave enough to get the margarita read more

Outstanding. Great to FINALLY have authentic Mexican food in Fulshear. Hopes rose when friendly waiter brought out a trio of homemade salsas - mild, medium and hot - all unique and excellent. Menu is small, but pay attention to specials noted on chalk boards. Spotting enchiladas mole as a special made my choice a no brainer, and they were best I've had in the Houston area. Wife had the enchiladas with tomatillo/green sauce and said the same. Will definitely be back to continue to explore these real and excellent flavors! read more

Small place but packs huge flavor. Server was very friendly and helpful. She told me if I ordered 4 tacos I'd get the 5th for free since that's what I was craving. This special is every Tuesday. Initially ordered 4+1 to start, YALL THE TACOS WERE SO GOOD I MADE ANOTHER ORDER! This place is a must try, the energy here is also on point. You can tell they have a lot of pride it what they do. We have lived in Fulshear for over 5 years and never tried the food at La Balance till recently. We have ordered take outs 3 times now. Twice we ordered Street Tacos and once enchiladas. All fantastic. When I picked up the food, I noticed they have a very authentic Mexican menu that my wife will definitely want to try next time and eat at the restaurant. WOW! This is incredibly fresh authentic homemade Mexican food. Everything I tried has been delicious; from the huge breakfast burritos to the Street Tacos, Crispy Tacos, Tostadas, Carne Adobada, Gorditas and Guacamole. And the bread pudding, GOODNESS! La Balance does not disappoint. Taco Tuesdays with 5 Street Tacos for $9, is a great time to try out this Jewel of a restaurant in Fulshear. Service is friendly and prompt. Just go. First time trying but seems like we've found our new Mexican spot! Called maybe 5 min ahead and food was ready within like a minute of arrival. Gentleman helping us out was very friendly and nice. Just moved here from San Antonio so standard is pretty high for breakfast tacos. La Balance only does burritos which are huge you only need one but they are a little overpriced I think I paid $25 and change for 2 simple burritos but they were very good. Not sure if we got upcharged for my wife's order being weird she gets potato and bacon only doesn't like egg in bfast tacos but if anything this should be cheaper since you need a second mortgage to buy eggs nowadays. My taco was just a bacon egg and cheese. Tried both the red and green salsa which were decent but wish they had a little more pica. We'll be back to try more of this menu just don't know how often we'll hit the breakfast burritos at that price level. Some barbacoa on the menu occasionally would be awesome! read more
