So I'm writing a lot because there aren't currently other reviews for this place on Yelp, and…read morethought I should include things I would have liked to have known going it. The couple who run this business is super nice, and since we were visiting from out of state, the guy helped us finalize some sight seeing plans for Bryce Canyon (GORGEOUS in winter!) My husband and I were able to book back to back float sessions, each having to wait for the other as currently there is only one float pod. They have a great deal for $99 where you can get a massage and float session for an hour each, so while one person is floating, the other can get a massage. But you have to book in advance since they are short handed with only one full time masseuse (the wife) and one part timer. So we were not able to get a massage, but people raved about her. In the waiting room they have a book where people have written their experiences down about floating. The couch is pretty uncomfortable and not good for bad lower backs, especially when you are waiting an hour and a half. You also get to watch a video about what it's like to float and how to do it. Go early, you have to fill out paper work and initial a bunch of health stuff. Your body cannot be emitting anything gross. It's all in the paper work. You take a shower there before you get in, for obvious reasons, and one when you get out to rinse the salt off. They provide small slippers and a small bathrobe and towels. The shower had shampoo and conditioner. We were nervous about it, but reading the journal made me excited. They also have water, tea, (can't remember if there was coffee), coloring books for adults, and magazines. The float pods contain more salt than the Dead Sea, so that's cool. So you can float in your bathing suit or naked. They say doing it naked is weird the first time. We survived. Lol. It's VERY hard to stay still like you are supposed to, and hard to turn the brain off. They have lights and music that you can turn on and off from inside the pod (don't forget to turn off the room lights like I did,) to help you relax or turn off the brain. Most prefer lights off and music off, but being a bit claustrophobic, I had to have the lights on till I relaxed. And then had to turn the music on to shut the brain off, but the guitar music sounds screechy under water, so back off it went. Even though they provided throw away ear plugs. Also, maybe don't shave anything the day of - salt can burn a bit. Let your arms and legs float to the place they want to be, don't stop them. Three times we were each ready to get out. We got super antsy. But it's worth it to stay put. There were a couple of seconds here and there where it does kind of feel like what anti-gravity must feel like. Very cool feeling. Better than staying still, I enjoyed very gently pushing off the bottom and top back and forth, to get the sense of what it might be like to float between rooms on a spacecraft. They say the more you do float sessions, the easier and faster it is to relax. They also say you sleep better; we slept good that night, but not phenomenally. We did notice we seemed to have a lot of energy after our float session, though the video warns you may feel tired the first time from detoxing. Everyone's experience is different, but I'd say definitely worth it to try it out for $39 - better if you can get the packaged deal!

Actually, there are a group of about seven of us, because Movara builds strength AND friendships. We had a villa, which is very, very nice inside and tastefully decorated. Every day, numerous activities are scheduled from cooking demos, lectures, Zumba, but the highlight of all is definitely the hikes. Being so close to the National Park and red rocks is an asset to the overall program. There is an 'assessment hike' done on day one to place you in an appropriate hike group the rest of the days you are there. The hikes are run from 645-845a daily. All other classes and coaches are thoughtfully planned and I am very grateful that they alternate a hike/stretching/lecture/cardio/strength/pool aerobics (I've heard firsthand they used to do cardio/cardio/cardio plus have other strenuous activities later in the day in the heat & sun). Mid-week, I reweighed myself and was down two pounds. With this info, I knew where I stood and my mission is to be down a few more by checkout! I appreciate the overall mission at Movara and I think I would return again. PS the food program is wonderful, allots about 1200 cals per day, across the board, and all recipes are provided upon request!

I also asked him to check if this was the gym my minor daughter uses, since my wife couldn't remember the name. He said she didn't have a membership there, so I told him I would check the other gym as well because I wanted to sign up where my daughter goes so we could go together. What turned me off was that he started talking negatively about the other gym and their equipment. I told him it wasn't fair to talk down about other gyms like that, and that people will choose what works best for them. I went to the other gym, and it is nicer, cleaner, and $10 per month less. When I got home, I confirmed that the membership we're currently paying for, for our daughter is at Performance Fitness. I'll be moving her membership to the new gym, and I'm sure her friends will follow. One recommendation for the owners: hire someone at the front desk who is more mature and respectful.

Kicked me out of the gym because he thought I snuck in when I walked around the gym about three times trying to find the front desk (I am new to the city and was not sure where to go to get a membership) I thought It was odd as i did see the front desk person and did not know there were two doors, one being an exit and the other a walk in. As I entered, a man held the door open for me for the exit way so I assumed it was the front). I even asked one guy where the front was and he just straight up ignored me. I just was upset how this whole thing was handled and how the front desk person threw atttitude in my face stating that he seen me on camera sneaking in? I even told him if he looked back at the cameras he can see me walking around looking for a worker... after all that I still offered to pay for a guest pass as I kept apologizing but he said that I was not welcomed and kicked me out. So BEWARE for new people because I'm assuming they don't like out of town folks...

It looks like the building has been updated but none of the equipment has been. The machines were all pretty old, and in fair condition. I went on a Sunday morning right when they opened, and the trash was overflowing in the women's bathroom. I also stepped on a loose screw which got stuck in my shoe in the bathroom. Giving it three stars was a little bit generous. I figure this facility gets pretty busy and is really due for an upgrade.

And it's been down for a week. Again. Last November it was out for nearly a month. Same laminated sign. Same vague timeline. Same "maintenance" fog where accountability should be. Let's be clear: this is the only steam room in Washington County. If there were another option, I'd already be gone. The only reason I maintain this membership is access to that amenity -- the one advertised, promoted, and built into the monthly fee. A membership is a transaction. I pay. You provide what you advertise. Since this location can't seem to keep a core amenity operational, maybe it's time the people at the top hear about it directly. VASA is backed by private equity firm Silver Oak Services Partners, and led by CEO Rich Nelsen. When a company scales across multiple states and markets premium amenities, operational consistency isn't optional -- it's the business model. If the steam room is going to be chronically unreliable, say that plainly. Don't market it as a feature if it's a recurring casualty of "maintenance." Members shouldn't have to escalate basic facility upkeep beyond the front desk. But when a pattern repeats, escalation becomes reasonable. Fix it. Maintain it. Or adjust the membership pricing and advertising to reflect reality. Right now, it feels like we're paying for a promise that keeps evaporating. And steam, at the very least, should show up. Sincerely upset, A.P. Yeager

There are restaurants in every direction and easy to get to. You definitely have to drive...the road isn't really walkable and especially in the dead of summer. There is ample parking all the way around the building and multiple exit doors and elevators at each end. This BW has clearly been renovated. The lobby was impeccably decorated and had an open coffee/tea bar and ice cold water with fruit added. There is also a well stocked market right near the front desk. When we checked in we got the floor I requested and the front desk person told us all about the amenities including a daily free happy hour in the building across from the lobby. We made our way to our room and got settled in. The room felt and smelled clean. The room was just what I wanted with two queen beds and an AC unit that worked to perfection. I love when there are multiple lamps around with different brightness settings including on the nightstand. The room was also equipped with a wet bar with fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Bathroom was stocked with loads of towels which is always preferred. We did check out the happy hour which was pretty good and yes included cocktails. If you stay don't skip it! The beds were super comfortable and I slept like a dog on a log. We got up early and departed. Our one night stay was just what we needed! Thank you, BW Abbey Inn!
