Jeanie and Russ, the owners of this 1913 home, are excellent hosts and great breakfast cooks. We had french toast with fresh berries, poached eggs and bacon one day and blueberry muffins, omelets and locally made sausage the second morning. We stayed in the Royal King Suite. It was a spacious room with comfortable sitting area, fireplace, jacuzzi tub and high quality bed. Both suites have private entrances. In addition to the two bed and breakfast suites, this property is also a wedding venue with a gazebo, tent for the reception, and even a vintage automobile. Jeanie has been a wedding coordinator for many years and adds her special expertise to the many weddings they have each year. We hope to return soon when we come to the Rogue Valley again.

The bathrooms were filthy, had spider webs everywhere. The paint was chipping throughout the venue. Looked like they didn't bother to upkeep the yard work. No lights by the walking area at night (which is a huge safety hazard). We had seniors with walkers.... Fruit flies in the drinks. Oh....here's the biggest one.... The owner's wife is a nutcase AND SHE'S RUDE. We witnessed her drive a golf cart and back into a guest's truck and then continue to yell at them....it was completely her fault. Don't waste your money. Find a new wedding venue.

They were for May, which in light of the current state of things in the vaca-world seems like plenty of notice. Though their policy does state they charge a fee for cancelations - no matter what. The rest of the industry also charges cancelation fees. Yet, they have all waived them due to the extraordinary circumstances the world is facing. The place is very nice to stay at. We've stayed before. Now though, I believe we have seen the true nature of things. It makes me sad to think we will not be rescheduling our stay. We made it clear that we'd be doing that as soon as the world settled into its new norm.

Also I saw a father with 4 kids including a baby in a stroller on the ice, a toddler-ish one in a walker & two slightly bigger kids - kiddos to this man for keeping them all skating & happy. In my experience I found some difficulties, for instance: The teenagers on the staff were very bossy and a lot of times just plain rude. Also, during the Nerf battles the owner's sons and staff members cheat in the game a lot and are just not very nice. The owner himself is focused on safety and he modifies Nerf guns, which is kind of cool. But he is also a cheater in the battles, which makes the overall game less fun. I have attended parties at Think Tank Kids three times now I have had some fun but also some bad times. Overall, it's a great idea, but it needs to be run better. The staff at this "business" are probably friends or perhaps children of the owner. Believe me when I say, they are not helping him. The campground felt more like parking along a dirt road than an actual campground. There was frequent vehicle traffic through the area at different times of day and night, so it did not feel quiet or restful. The bathrooms were very poorly maintained, extremely small, and uncomfortable to use. The shower stalls also did not seem properly cleaned or maintained. If you are only camping, I do not think it is worth the price. There also did not seem to be basic camper amenities. I did not find a communal kitchen, and even getting drinking water was inconvenient. The water fountains were difficult to use. Overall, the property felt neglected and under-maintained. The pool and soaking areas were also disappointing. The pools looked grimy, and the "silence" signs were not respected during my stay. Every time I used the hot pool area, people were talking loudly. The dry sauna was fine, but not special enough to justify coming here; it felt similar to a basic gym sauna. The wet sauna was also not worth the trip by itself. I also had concerns about safety and management. On one very hot day, a dog was left tied outside near a tent for a long period while barking, and other campers had to help care for it. I did not see management respond, even though staff appeared to be driving around the property. On the morning I left, another guest behaved aggressively toward me near my van, which made me feel unsafe. The front desk seemed mainly focused on payment and access control, not on guest comfort, cleanliness, or safety. As a non-white guest, I also felt uncomfortable and out of place here, and I did not feel that management was attentive enough to create a safe environment. This place may appeal to some locals or repeat visitors, but based on my experience, it was dirty, poorly maintained, uncomfortable, and not worth the price. I would not return and would strongly recommend checking the property carefully before booking online. DEFINITELY NOT FAMILY-FRIENDLY.

As much as I have been to deeply healing and naturally geothermic hot springs, I still enjoy a visit to Jackson Wellsprings every month or so. I live remotely and they offer a Tuesday night dance/soak experience that is really quite lovely. Sometimes the DJs are actually bad and I don't do the dance, I'll listen for about 20 mins before paying to enter. Sometimes the DJs are litty. The facilities are clearly 60+ years old and maintained to the absolute bare minimum, or so it appears. It doesn't seem like much deep cleaning/renovation goes on with bleach or other cleaning probably due to some eco friendly initiative to justify saving money and the planet all at once, yet the human experience is degraded. Standards differ in everyone. Sauna is nice. Steam room is nice. Big pool is nice and cool. Hot tub is often filled and relatively hot. Granted for the price of $15/4 hour session... it's now dependent on your fear of humans and the potential for their dirty to impact your experience. I'm a pretty reasonable person and still have desired standards to be met, hence this review and still attending despite a more degraded facility than one would want from a place designed for healing.
