We came here on a work team building activity and we did the 'Amnesia' room. We had so much fun. This is the most challenging room they have and our guide told us only 30% complete it. We did not compete it but we did make it out of the individual rooms we started out in. Very creative and fun. Unique rooms compared to some of the places I've gone too I will definitely be back with my family for another room. Great service and overall very fun experience

This is the first experience I have had in any escape rooms. I went with my family and my granddaughter for her birthday. I didn't know what to expect, but I certainly had a great time. My kids are so smart that we made it out of the room with zero hints and under an hour. I had fun solving problems and escaping. Cathy was our host and she was spectacular. She made it more fun for all of us. I had such a great time that I even bought a T-shirt.

TLDR: Great for big groups (up to 12), challenging, but doable clues, perfect winter activity, and a super fun way to celebrate a birthday. We had a group of 12 and Escape Games PDX is one of the few places (if not the only place) that accepts a group this big. We went to celebrate our friend's birthday here. We opted for the AMNESIA room and had a blast! Unfortunately, with a 20% success rate, our group wasn't able to escape, but we still appreciated the mind-boggling puzzles. Not all were easy to solve, but it was clear and straightforward. Parking is not a problem here as there is a huge lot with tons of parking spaces.

Had an absolute blast in Noir! Our team of 6 finished sub 45 and would've finished faster if we had dug a little deeper in one of the locked boxes! (Make sure you grab everything!!) Jeremy was an incredible host and guide. When he saw that we were overthinking, he'd kindly send us a hint. What was great about the hints was that they were not revealing -- they pointed us away from the wrong direction (and not necessary pointing us in the right direction, so we had to think a bit) --- and **most importantly** the hints stayed in character with the theme to keep you immersed in the experience! Overall a 10/10 (or 5 star/5 in this case), would definitely come again!

My friends and I attempted to "escape reality" at Escape Games PDX during the rainy part of the day (buzz kill am-I-right?!). We opted for the "Prison Break!" Option and had a blast. Zack (sp?) was our escape guide and did an excellent job. If we were rating just him, we'd give a 11/10 stars (not mathematically possible :p). The puzzles were thoughtfully curated and, well, puzzling! Had so much fun team building with my long-time friends. Plus it was a nice way to spend an afternoon sober. Zack was VERY accommodating and helped whenever we had any issues. Would def recommend them for anyone interested in a mental workout while traveling through PDX! Carry on, Todd G

Went back for a second room (Film Noir) and it was SUPER fun and definitely one of the harder ones I think. We got a 20% discount for booking again so it was a great deal. Jonathan was our game master and he was very nice and helpful :) Escape Games PDX is definitely one of the best places I've been to!!

Film Noir was a lot of fun! Katie was a great game master. Three of us snuck away from Comic-Con to play tonight. We succeeded with no hints in 47 minutes. Yay! The puzzles were clever. The game is multi path so you have more than one puzzle to work on at a time. We had a really really fun time.

We did the Film Noir puzzle. It was a lot of fun. They said it was "hard" but we breezed through it fairly well considering 4/6 people had never done an escape room before. The room Host was friendly. Not only would I recommend Escape room PDX, I plan to go back and try the other rooms.

Gabriel is my favorite elf cousin who helped us Sleigh It in the Hour Before Christmas. Fun and very unique puzzles that challenge the mind!

The clues made sense and flowed really well. The sets weren't amazing, but the gameplay experience was great!

Ask the Community - Escape Games PDX

How about the rest of the rooms (I see the answer for prison break) ? Are they all suitable for kids? Are they able to solve the puzzles?

Prison Heist is the one we recommend for younger kids because the puzzles are the most straight forward, however all of our rooms have had success with younger players. I would say that Film Noir is the most challenging. As far as theming,…

Is the prison break room appropriate for kids?

Hello! Most kids 10 and up enjoy the Prison Break room. You so start handcuffed and in cells with each other (most kids find this the best part!) but we like to make sure everyone knows that beforehand. Prison Break is good for kids helping to find…

Came across this place from friends who are out of town and travel for escape rooms and they were very impressed as well. We did Operation Gryaznayavoda and it was so fun. Despite having a large group of 10 people, found it challenging and everyone had a chance to keep themselves busy. Unique puzzles and locks, awesome story to accompany, and a great game master. When you see the entrance, you already know they put in effort to make this whole room work and you're going to have a good time. Great attention to detail, everything was in working order (with exception of getting in but that's not their fault as someone recently broke it, but this had nothing to do with the game itself and was more a novelty which was cool). Highly recommended and have not been impressed like this in a long time. This unfortunately set the bar unrealistically high for some first timers in our group haha, but now they're hooked to try other games too.

I will review the escape room if I manage to get out but anyone that loves movies, the 80's, and friendly, knowledgeable staff should go rent from them and try an escape room. Go give it a look and help them keep PDX weird, fun and incurably cool.

We provided the party room (the common room in an apartment complex) and they brought the puzzles, the props, the ambiance, and great show-runners. They totally transformed the common room into a magician's lair, with a nice story and a fun setup. The goal of the setup was to unlock six or so locks, which would allow the magician to escape the box of death. In order to unlock the six locks, we had to unravel about 20 puzzles, which I won't describe here because I don't want to spoil them. I appreciated, though, that the puzzles were all different kinds of puzzles, so everyone could find something they could contribute. The magician themed room was medium-hard. I am told they have some rooms that are easier and some rooms that are harder. We are looking forward to doing their more challenging room at some point in the future. I also appreciated that the people working the event stayed in character and provided a lot of good energy. We had about 20 people at the party, so they had to run the escape room two times. It took about 15 minutes between runs to reset the room. They packed up in half an hour and left the room in great shape. We couldn't be happier with this booking, and I am already fantasizing about booking them again for another room.
