While visiting Oregon, decided to play an escape room there. Stumbled upon this one since the Tesla's Mystery seemed like a cool theme. We arrived at the mall and easily found the location. Bathrooms are accessible inside the mall but not inside their suite. Our game master was very easy to talk to and helped explain what we needed to know. As the company explains, rather than the intent to be 'escape' the room, the goal is the experience inside and the story that goes along with it. The puzzles in the Tesla room were very different from what I've seen before (played 15 rooms as of now). There were some puzzles that I thought were amazing while others made me go 'uhhh' that's no fun. The walls inside the rooms do not go up to the ceiling which broke the fourth wall and the immersive experience. The props and set design however does make up for that. Went in the room with two newcomers and we made it out barely with some hints to keep us going.

This was by far one of the cooler escape rooms I've been to. I've been to 4 total. We did the Tesla and with 4 people and just a couple of hints we were able to escape in less than an hour. The owner was pretty chill and an all around nice guy. I can't wait to book the second room. Such a fun night.

Definitely the best escape room I've gone to. There were lots of really neat electronic components that added to the experience.

None of the 5 of us had ever tried as escape room before, but after trying the Tesla I think we are all fans!

During the game play we could ask for clues, we needed many, ha, ha. The clues they gave were helpful and helped us push on to eventually solve it with only less than a minute on the clock. We did the Tales from the Attic room. I won't give away any of the room, I will only say it was kind of like a mystery game of hang man to fill in the clues as we found them. It was different than other escape rooms I have done, but it was fun figuring out the clues to fill in the puzzles. I believe they have 4 different escape rooms here and I am sure they are all just as fun. If you are looking for a fun group activity, work outing, birthday party, etc. I would recommend an escape room and if in the Portland area check out Escape Games PDX. If you solve the game, you can pick a little key trinket as well and go up in the leader board if you solve it fast enough. We unfortunately did not make the leader board. Enjoy!

We did the Prison Heist room because a couple of us had never done an Escape Room before and it seemed like a perfect starter room. Loved that the room is non-linear and the clues were all cohesive. You had a choice of dressing the part as they had inmate costumes readily available. The door is never locked so you can get out if needed. Also, for this room, there is no clock. Your gamemaster will let you know once you have 30 and 10 minutes left. Jake gave us fantastic clues and didn't make us feel like idiots for asking. I feel like we asked for only maybe a handful of clues. We escaped with about 11 minutes to spare. Loved that they had merch for each specific room. Makes it easier to grab a souvenir. We also were able to pick out a tiny key as our prize for escaping. Cute touch. Good job, Escape Games PDX!

I thought it was a lot of fun…read more We had tasks all around the metro area, from dancing Thriller to bouncing around on huge exercise balls through a dark field. There were cash prizes and a costume contest at the end (We definitely didn't get any cash prizes...). If I were to change anything about the hunt, I would shrink the boundaries down a bit to save on gas and possibly have fewer teams at a time doing the hunt. I know you can't stop people from cheating but we definitely saw some people with designated drivers dropping off their teams to complete a challenge and avoid parking issues. We also had two different teams lie to us in order to try and delay us on a task! It's a bummer when people play dirty, but that doesn't say anything negative about the organizers. I also think they could think through the final destination a little more. The bar they chose was a little small for the masses of people that showed up, and it was hard to get a drink. Maybe some food specials at the bar too? We were hungry after all that. I didn't see many kids on the hunt, and possibly have two different kinds: ones that are family friendly and others that cater more to the adult population. Just some suggestions, but all in all it was a great time!

I'm a native Portlander and I went to place that I have never been to. To places I've been to once. And it ended at the Clinton Street Theatre with a free movie. I recommend the PDX hunt to anyone. Can't wait for next year.
