I've never failed to escape before, but this one got us! We were literally one or two steps away when the clock ran out. It was frustrating, but at the same time, incredibly entertaining. I have to admit, I felt like I let my son down because he was really hoping we'd beat it. When you're paying for an escape room, it definitely stings a little when you don't make it out. But honestly, that's part of what makes it such a great experience it leaves you wanting another shot. Pro tip: Bring four or five people if you can. There are so many clues, puzzles, and different things happening at once that having extra sets of eyes makes a huge difference. It's easy to lose time chasing the wrong clue or overlooking something that's right in front of you. Escapology in Clackamas/Happy Valley is top-notch. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and full of creative, immersive rooms with different themes and adventures. The puzzles are clever, the atmosphere pulls you in, and the whole experience keeps you engaged from start to finish. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but you only live once. It's a fantastic activity for families, friends, date nights, birthdays, or team-building. Even if you don't escape, you'll leave talking about the experience and laughing over everything you missed. We'll definitely be back for a rematch. Highly recommended!

All 3 times the kids had a blast and had to work as a team to escape. We love that they have options for kids escape rooms there. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The decor is great and sets a fun vibe. The party room is good sized and has lots of decorations already there which is super helpful. We were able to watch the kids via a screen in the party room which was fun to see them problem-solve. Would recommend checking out the escape rooms at Escapology.

I was the only one who had much experience in escape rooms, so although we did not make it out together we still had a great time solving the clues we could. The room was quite interactive with several elements you had to engage with in just the right way, rather than just a series of locks to open. During the game play we could ask for clues, we needed many, ha, ha. The clues they gave were helpful and helped us push on to eventually solve it with only less than a minute on the clock. We did the Tales from the Attic room. I won't give away any of the room, I will only say it was kind of like a mystery game of hang man to fill in the clues as we found them. It was different than other escape rooms I have done, but it was fun figuring out the clues to fill in the puzzles. I believe they have 4 different escape rooms here and I am sure they are all just as fun. If you are looking for a fun group activity, work outing, birthday party, etc. I would recommend an escape room and if in the Portland area check out Escape Games PDX. If you solve the game, you can pick a little key trinket as well and go up in the leader board if you solve it fast enough. We unfortunately did not make the leader board. Enjoy!

I had some complaints about the room...mainly one of the light bulbs needed to solve a puzzle was burnt out and we weren't aware of that until spending a long time trying to figure it out. Another group prior had damaged one of the clues by getting a book wet and red dye was all over the prop which made it difficult to solve another puzzle. Another one of the props was made with really thin paper and the ink bled thru so it was difficult knowing which side of the page to use to solve the puzzle. The theme was pretty weak and the immersion was really poor and it didn't feel really creative to us when compared to the 3 other rooms we've done prior. Despite the discount...we still sorta felt like we didn't get our moneys worth.

There were cash prizes and a costume contest at the end (We definitely didn't get any cash prizes...). If I were to change anything about the hunt, I would shrink the boundaries down a bit to save on gas and possibly have fewer teams at a time doing the hunt. I know you can't stop people from cheating but we definitely saw some people with designated drivers dropping off their teams to complete a challenge and avoid parking issues. We also had two different teams lie to us in order to try and delay us on a task! It's a bummer when people play dirty, but that doesn't say anything negative about the organizers. I also think they could think through the final destination a little more. The bar they chose was a little small for the masses of people that showed up, and it was hard to get a drink. Maybe some food specials at the bar too? We were hungry after all that. I didn't see many kids on the hunt, and possibly have two different kinds: ones that are family friendly and others that cater more to the adult population. Just some suggestions, but all in all it was a great time!

The structure seems more appropriate for 2.5 and older. It has a pretty cool rock climber for older kids. My experience makes me wonder if there are parks in Portland that are more inclusive for all children and their abilities? I hope that Portland Parks and Recreation would be willing to rethink how they can be more inclusive when designing a park. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about building a park, but If I did I would want everyone to feel included.

Slides, step rocks, climbing structures, picnic tables in the open and shade, lots of benches, even water bowls for dogs - clearly a lot of thought went into the design and build of Spring Garden Park. It's close to Multnomah Village which is how I discovered it after visiting the food truck area and wanting someplace serene to enjoy my meal. Park right on SW Spring, just be mindful of not blocking the neighbors driveways as it's in a residential area. Close to SW Barbur.

I recently booked two escape rooms for a team building activity. Both groups had so much fun and enjoyed the challenge. We loved the various rooms, plots and twists (We did the Time Machine & Tesla's Magic). It was fun to be immersed into the scene and rely upon each individual's strengths and insight, it truly was a great team building opportunity. The owners were also so wonderful, their communication and accommodations really made planning flawless. You can tell they have a true passion for escape rooms and truly enjoy what they do. Great escape room experience in Happy Valley! The attention to detail is outstanding and the clues have a wide range from easy to hard. Fun for a couples date or team building exercise with co-workers. Did the Time Machine Story, sad to say we ran out of time and couldn't defuse the bomb! Looking forward to the additional stories, which makes it more interesting that just a standard escape room. The owner Mike did a great job orienting is first-timers. It was so well thought out and the hints (yes, we needed a few) were helpful without giving things away. We escaped with only a minute to spare and it was all we talked about on the drive home. I don't want to give away too much, but it isn't all about figuring out combinations to locks like some of the others I have done. I did both of the rooms. Took my wife and daughter here for mother's day. I had some concerns about bringing in a 5 year old. Mike is awesome! Very patient and fun. We ended up being teamed with another family, and together we were able to solve all the puzzles, and keep the kids interacting. Best escape games ever!!! I came to play Time Machine AND Tesla's Mystery at MindTrix. Super convenient location in the mall and really fun and unique escape games. The room got hot (it is very small, maybe 8x8) so wear something comfy and just a side note outta normal BUT you can't bring your purse in with you, and there isn't a safe place to lock your stuff up, just in the room your guide is in. We spent 150 for 5 people to play which .. Really is pretty expensive, that is pretty much my only con especially since it was a tiny room with most things coming from the good will .

Some puzzles were particularly subtle, pushing our problem-solving skills to the limit. But with determination and collaboration, we cracked them just in time, ultimately saving the day and averting the train wreck! (And we didn't even ask for any hints from the staff!) The quality and complexity of this escape room experience left us thoroughly impressed, and we can't wait to return for new scenarios when they rotate. I love that we have more fun things to do in the heart of Newburg. This was my first escape room…read moreexperience. It was a lot of fun. It was definitely more challenging than I was expecting but our teamwork was unstoppable! The employee is great! He plays one of the characters and does a great job staying engaged. You can ask for hints if you're really stumped. You're not completely locked in so if you have to use the restroom or have an emergency you can kind of come and go. Price is reasonable. Parking was a breeze. They have their own lot and there is also street parking available.
