Krocbuster was a challenge! We definitely needed all our clues and hints and the host was helpful for those. It's a small room and was hard to divide and conquer. The whole group was always kind of focused on one thing and that held us up. With all the help we got, we were JUST shy of "escaping." We could have done it with two extra minutes.

There's not a lot to do that isn't a bar in... Western Oregon honestly, and Conundrum House is solving it. For insanely reasonable prices (that lower even further with membership) you can rent table space for RPGs, gaming time on video games, attend costume events, themed tea parties (with incredible gnosh), enjoy interactive murder mysteries and far more than I'm going to take time to list here. All in a beautiful building full of art and whimsy run by incredible, enthusiastic people. They support local artists, writers, game creators and creatives of all sorts in a way you don't often see in this area. So comfortable it's a bit like going home, and every inch of it was made with the intent to build fun artistic and creative community upward. The owners are amiable, chatty, and proud of what they've accomplished, and they should be. Need something to do outside of the same old drudgery? Get here! Check it out, inquire within, look them up, they deserve the community's support. They opened six months before Covid and managed to survive it, if that doesn't scream worthy business, I don't know what does. It's nested on the second floor so pay attention to the sandwich board on the sidewalk, it's totally worth a short trip up the stairs. I recommend checking this out heavily. Perhaps the most check-outtable place I've ever reviewed. We will definitely return.

We are always excited to check out games we haven't tried before and love taking friends with us when we go. We've purchased puzzles and even robots for family gifts. They have single to multi-player available. Their LARP games can play several people to hundreds! When we're in the gameroom it's very convenient that they have snacks, hot and cold beverages ready. They are also so involved in the community. They offer weekly puzzles in the local newspaper, they participate in Buy Local First Corvallis annually and are engaged with the arts and business community downtown and beyond. A friend made the reservations, I was unaware of a escape room in Corvallis. The locate is kind of…read morehard to find. Its above the Book Bin and shares space with Darkside Cinema. You follow the signs to the second floor. There is a door and a check in area. The door lead to the control room. We waited outside until someone showed up. We signed a waiver they we waited down a hall to the escape room. There are two types of room available. The Spy's Safe house and the Dialed in. The spy's safe house is the easier of the two. According to the website, the safe house has a 84% success rate and the dialed in has a 33% success rate. Both rooms have the same rate, which is $25.00 a person. My friend booked the Dialed in room. I have never done a escape room so I cant really compare it to others. We were unable to complete the room within the time frame. It was still fun and I would like to do it again. However there are things they could work on. First is the room gets hot and I don't believe there is AC. The man running the room, told us to prop open the door if we got to warm. There is a fan blowing but you get 6 adults breathing heavy and it gets HOT. We were given directions on how to start but it was kind of like running around with your head chopped off. That might be the norm for escape rooms but I can understand why they have a low success rate. It seemed like the clues didn't follow a path to success. I know that's vague but I'm not going to give away anything and ruin your experience. If you miss one step you are doomed to fail. They do change the rooms up so its not always going to be the same. Right now they are doing a promo for the 'eclipse-themed' room. Which will run until August. You get a free pair of eclipse viewing glasses after your done. Its part of the normal rooms. After you are done, you can take a picture holding a funny sign saying you escaped or you failed. They uses the picture on there Facebook page. In closing they need to make it easier to find and make it easier to check in. Cool down the rooms.

During the game play we could ask for clues, we needed many, ha, ha. The clues they gave were helpful and helped us push on to eventually solve it with only less than a minute on the clock. We did the Tales from the Attic room. I won't give away any of the room, I will only say it was kind of like a mystery game of hang man to fill in the clues as we found them. It was different than other escape rooms I have done, but it was fun figuring out the clues to fill in the puzzles. I believe they have 4 different escape rooms here and I am sure they are all just as fun. If you are looking for a fun group activity, work outing, birthday party, etc. I would recommend an escape room and if in the Portland area check out Escape Games PDX. If you solve the game, you can pick a little key trinket as well and go up in the leader board if you solve it fast enough. We unfortunately did not make the leader board. Enjoy!

We did the Prison Heist room because a couple of us had never done an Escape Room before and it seemed like a perfect starter room. Loved that the room is non-linear and the clues were all cohesive. You had a choice of dressing the part as they had inmate costumes readily available. The door is never locked so you can get out if needed. Also, for this room, there is no clock. Your gamemaster will let you know once you have 30 and 10 minutes left. Jake gave us fantastic clues and didn't make us feel like idiots for asking. I feel like we asked for only maybe a handful of clues. We escaped with about 11 minutes to spare. Loved that they had merch for each specific room. Makes it easier to grab a souvenir. Josh was a great guide giving us clues or nudges when needed to move us along and was very tolerant of our curious 5 year olds questions and energy. The kids are already asking when we can go again! I was the only one who had much experience in escape rooms, so although we did not make it out together we still had a great time solving the clues we could. The room was quite interactive with several elements you had to engage with in just the right way, rather than just a series of locks to open. You can ask for hints if you're really stumped. You're not completely locked in so if you have to use the restroom or have an emergency you can kind of come and go. Price is reasonable. Parking was a breeze. They have their own lot and there is also street parking available.
