This was an elegant modern lounge. They had lots of cozy sitting area and a huge window view to the tarmac. There was a bar as well with high chairs all around it. We went to the lounge very early in the morning, around 6 am. The check in process was easy. There were few options available for breakfast such as roasted potatoes, pork sausage and omelettes. They also had some fruits yogurts and cheese served as well. There was a cereal dispenser with 3 varieties and some bakery goods next to it like bagels, muffins and croissants. Despite all the varieties the cooked food options seemed limited for breakfast. The staff members were friendly. They removed empty plates quickly from the table. Overall it was a good lounge, but they are tucked in a corner of Concourse A, so if you your gate in Concourse B, you would need at about 10 minutes to walk from the lounge to the gate.

Great lounge at MCI by Gate A5. It's modern and renovated. They open at 430am. I'm grateful that they open so early. Food is not bad, not the most variety for breakfast but good enough for me. Eggs, meat patty, cereal, hot tea and coffee. The staff were nice and friendly. The smiles help with early morning for sure. They came to clean the table frequently. The bathroom is not bad but needs more frequent cleaning. Overall a good lounge at MCI.

One of the best lounges I've been to in the States! This reminds me of a Centurion Lounge! Great food (loved the meatballs and charcuterie) and a full bar. Everything is aesthetically-pleasing. The service is very nice.

MCI used to be a total dump with no amenities - talk about going from zero to HERO! The Escape Room was available via my priority pass but you can pay as well. Inside is lovely - decent size and a good variety of seating. There's a full bar (top shelf extra $$) and a nice food spread. Restrooms are clean as is the whole space. Every staffer I encountered was super nice. If you have access, definitely worth checking out.

This was my third time here since it opened, and I've been impressed each visit. I'm still pretty new to lounges--before this year I'd only ever been to one--but ESCAPE really does make travel feel a little more elevated. Atmosphere & Seating The lounge is bright, modern, and open, with a mix of tables, booths, bar seating, and even mini conference rooms. On this visit, I sat at one of the tables, but I like that they also have a quieter section tucked away from the food area--I've used it before and it's perfect if you want some peace before a flight. Service The staff here are consistently excellent. You're greeted warmly at check-in, and the attentiveness continues throughout your stay. Drink orders are taken quickly, plates are cleared often, and the buffet line is refreshed regularly. On this visit, even the manager was clearing plates--tone at the top clearly set. Food & Drinks The food always surprises me in a good way for a Priority Pass lounge. On past visits, I've had chicken wings that were excellent. This time, I put together a little Italian/Asian fusion plate of meatballs with jasmine rice, which worked surprisingly well. My mom enjoyed both sandwiches, which she thought were very tasty, and my vegetarian dad appreciated the variety of salads and sweets. The buffet also offered cold sandwiches, charcuterie (meats, cheeses, crackers), corn salsa salad, roasted veggies, baked potato soup, and pastries like muffins, donuts, and cookies. The drink program is strong, with full bar service plus self-serve water, tea, and coffee. The only weak spot is the coffee itself--the machine-based espresso is a little mild. A stronger, fresh-brew option would really elevate things. Overall ESCAPE is an impressive lounge for KCI. Between the friendly staff, bright design, and food that goes well beyond basic lounge fare, it feels like a pre-flight treat. Every visit I've left feeling like a first-class traveler, even when I'm not. 4.5 stars rounded to 5.

I mean this place is great. A total game changer for an airport that already changed the game just a few years back. Let's all dip into our memory banks for a second and remember the dilapidated, parking-garage aesthetic of the old KCI where the bathrooms were out of order, the lone Starbucks had a line a mile long, and it was just not pleasant. Now I arrive to the airport extra early to steal some time in the Escape Lounge. Airports are already a chance to have some good uninterrupted work time, so adding in top tier Americanos from the lounge, or teas, lunches, snacks, and more is always worth the early arrival. I also love how their bathrooms are set up, and you don't have to schlep everything with you like the main portion of the airport. They have an attentive staff, good food (like some that's really good for what it is), and tons of goodies. Oh and the Wi-Fi is fast which is great when taking video calls. It really makes me enjoy my work travel that much more, and it's been a great addition to a good airport.

The Escape Lounge MCI was a really pleasant surprise and a great way to start a travel day. The snack selection was genuinely impressive and far above what I usually expect from airport lounges, with quality options that actually felt thoughtfully chosen. The location is super convenient, making it easy to pop in without going out of your way. It was calm, comfortable, and exactly the kind of place you want to relax for a bit before boarding. I left feeling refreshed instead of rushed, which is not something I say often about airports.

Wow, this is a nice lounge! Spent a few hours here when my flight was delayed. I was bummed there was no Admiral's Club in Kansas City, but was happy to see a Priority Pass lounge. I didn't expect much based on experience of previous lounges with PP access, but this one was great. Lots of different seating options, many of them little nooks or cubbies so you had privacy, all with power. They also had a couple of glass-enclosed conference rooms-I didn't use one, but I did see others doing so. They had staff coming around to take drink orders, which I've never experience before, and they came around pretty frequently. Every staff member I encountered was also super friendly. The food was good-not a huge selection, but some great hot and cold items (the mac and cheese was delicious! The Caesar salad was a bit meh). They've got a full espresso machine as well. The lounge did fill up around dinner time-not sure if that's normal or because of flight delays (big storms in the Midwest set off a domino effect of delays). I arrived about 4pm so beat that rush and was easily able to find a seat, and by the time I left around 8 it was pretty empty. I highly recommend this lounge, and if I'm ever back at MCI I will be stopping here again.

All things considered: they're doing pretty great. They are still waiting on the muni for a liquor liscense, but their mocktails were excellenge! The bartender looked stunning with her multiple piercings and handled the repetitive and obnoxious questions from the spoiled clientele with ease and grace! The food, while still lounge food, was waaaaay better than the food at the Alaska and American lounges. Excited to come back here and have a hard drink!

Beautiful location, very clean. Service was quick and welcoming. Food and beverage options were perfect for a morning flight.

Open only four months, the Escape Lounge still has a few kinks to work out. Still, the space is beautiful with many different seating options for those who want to work or relax. At the time of our visit, the bar was not serving alcohol due to a hold up with their liquor license. The buffet, while offering some nice choices, needed some work on keeping their hot foods hot. There also seemed to be an issue with their WiFi. All things that can, and I'm sure will, be taken care of as quickly as possible to ensure a top notch experience. One if the managers I spoke to, and all the lounge staff, was very friendly and attentive. Despite the "soft opening" challenges, everyone served with a smile and were eager to make our visit as pleasant as possible.

A great lounge and plenty of options to choose from. My husband and I entered without any issues (provided card/Priority Pass and were good to go). There were plenty of seating options--regular chairs and table, desks for working, and more private single seat areas. There were ample spots that allowed for wall outlets. The staff was attentive and seemed to be almosy constantly clearing away any finished dishes or extra plates/cups pretty frequently. I was impressed since it was a lot. The bar was also not super full, but had a few patrons and the drink options were a lot to choose from. For the food, it was set up with smaller plates and mimicked tapas style bites. They had salad, veggies, cheese and meats, chicken wings, and also some desserts in a separate section. The beverages were the standard soft drinks, coffee, juice, and water. The staff made sure to constantly attend to the buffet and replenish anything that was low.

I had an early flight out so it was quiet, with maybe 4 others in the lounge with me which made for a relaxing prelude to my red eye. Likewise the staff greeted me quickly and quietly, almost librarial. I was surprised to not hear anything from the kitchen it was that quiet. The bar wasn't open since it was in the wee hours but the breakfast options were good. I haven't really been disappointed with any SkyClub's food offerings but I appreciated the biscuits and gravy; something I don't often find so was nice to have as an alternative to the usual scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Definitely worth the Skyclub price of admission.

While the hotel leaves much to be desired, KC Tap & Table their captive kitchen actually has something going on. They have a legit mixologist on duty at the right time, and a curated menu that hits most of the right notes. With a glass rear wall overlooking Berlin Reservoir, outdoor seating and room for breakfast, the space is comfortable and spare enough for private conversation. Service is also light, so there is a wait between seating, ordering and delivery. Despite that, what you see on the interesting menu is worth the time invested. I had their Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. It may have been the best grilled cheese I had ever eaten in a restaurant (my homemade version is still my favorite). This baby is actually an inverted griller. The cheese is melted on the outside of the multigrain, with delicious sautéed onion bits and spices within. Each bite was a crisp cleave with lovely crunch from first to last. The fries were also crisp and tasty. Looking around the bar where I was stationed, the other folks also had good looking plates to consume. Everyone seemed relaxed and satisfied. Conversation was likewise friendly and interesting. The lounge was a nice size without being too big or too small. Our section was located directly to the left as we walked in. The band was onstage giving an awe inspiring performance and the crowd was mature. I could already tell that this place is for grown folks and I was drawn in immediately. As we took our seats a server (or what I assumed was our server) came over and bought us some spirits inspired desserts. Our party continued to grow. When the band took a break I learned that we did not have bottle service or a waitress and had to place our orders at the bar. I was disappointed that even with a section we had to walk to the bar to order drinks. The drinks were good but overpriced. All in all I was happy to support a Black Owned Business while visiting Kansas City. The owner was nice and went onstage to congratulate our "Bride" and Thank us for being present.
