There's two levels of entertainment. The service was friendly. Only thing is that they don't have food so eat beforehand. There was a hummus plate and some desserts. We had soooo much fun. Even walking in, we weren't quite sure what to expect. The entrance is small, and you're greeted right away, which was a nice touch. Once inside, it's very dark with deep red lighting--almost like stepping into a cave. It took a moment for our eyes to adjust, but once they did, we immediately felt at ease. The space is cozy and perfectly aligned with its purpose: it's all about the jazz. The service was great--welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall experience without taking away from the music. And the music? Absolutely captivating. It pulls you in and transports you--you can't help but settle into the vibe and just enjoy the moment together. We went on a Monday, so there was plenty of seating, but I noticed there's also a lower level that likely accommodates larger weekend crowds. There's a solid drink menu and a small selection of food, but honestly, this isn't the place you come for a full meal. Come for the drinks, stay for the music, and soak in the atmosphere.

The interior is cozy and inviting, seating is limited, so plan accordingly. I got a seat at the bar and Zach did an awesome job of mixing me up some amazing drinks. I started with a Low Key Stunner. It's a great cocktail for a warm summer day, or just taking the edge off. I followed that up with a Kill Bill. It has some good zing and just a little edge to it. If you are feeling really adventurous, see if you can get a Nordic Haircut. Don't ask questions, just enjoy! Awesome location, great service, great drinks!

I believe we all got two drinks while we were there. Price wise they were about what I expected and not way over priced like some other places. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. The little trash can drink was fun and had great flavors. My only negative about the place is the seating. With almost 5 feet between the seats it was hard to have a conversation with others in my group, even worse with the pair of couples next to us yelling across to each other. I was more in their conversation then I was ours since I couldn't hear my friends.

No, Swordfish Tom's is only serving up handcrafted cocktails, and generally off of their particularly killer menu. Drinks are artisanal, they take a little extra time to prepare, and they are absolutely smashing! Owner Jill has all the talents with both mixology and design and the unique taste comes through each time. Hoist your drink and find a comfy seat, or maybe a dimly lit corner table just for two. Just know that it is CASH ONLY (and there is an ATM on site) and the drinks will run you upwards of $15 or so. Each one is very well worth it, and you're there for a specific ambience, so pony up and enjoy. If you don't know that the entrance is in the alley off of 19th, then you will miss it altogether. Great space, great atmosphere, and outstanding cocktails.

The bar is downstairs and a speakeasy feel, with the entrance being in an alley. It feels hidden! There are paintings of nautical creatures/ animals on the walls as you're entering. The space itself is smaller, and from what I've been told they do a great job on regulating crowd size with their wait area. They have very specific craft cocktails. While they didn't have a traditional dirty martini that I enjoy, the bartender recommended something and offered to remake it for me if I didn't enjoy it. It's a really unique space that anyone would enjoy- definitely check it out.

We joined in their Pop Culture Trivia night and it was a sort or mashup of bingo and trivia. For instance, a short trailer of a movie, and if you recognized it on your board, you mark it off. The topics were all over the place, with one being Catherine O'Hara films (RIP), together with modern slow folk music, and mockumentaries. OK! Could be cool to have a round of just 90's hits, or 80's movies, etc. If you're one of the very select few to win, you take home... an old VHS tape. Funny, but I would probably "accidentally forget" mine on the bar table had I won. It would be kinda fun if they threw in a free drink or something to make it worth it. The final prize was a few comp tickets to Screenland Armour upstairs, which they are connected to. The hosts were both friendly, and the vibes of the place are good. Overall just a fun, throwback place where you don't have to shout over anyone to talk. Highly recommend!
