I've seen this spot pop up on my feed and this Saturday I was even more intrigued because of the long line. We picked our seating out (perch). I stood in line which took about 10 mins or so, not very long. There's one order counter for either business: City Market Coffee & Murmuration Eatery. Tonie took my order: 2 Avocado Toast/ Turkey Sausage; 16oz Matcha Green Tea Latte with oat milk, and another 16oz Matcha Green Tea Latte with oat milk and caramel syrup. Super light ice. It was very busy and crowded, our drink orders came up first. The food Toasted wheatly with with tomatoes, basil oil and a balsamic glaze! Blended so well and tomatoes fresh. Murmuration is just an expansion of City Market Roasters. They have expanded the space to the south, put in a kitchen and an alcohol menu. Seating is still fairly limited inside the space, but they have done what they can do and offer a few tables in the front sidewalk. I went on a mid afternoon and needed a lunch but didn't want to be stuffed for dinner, so I had a grilled cheese and fries. The pricing was right and the sammy was grilled well with two cheeses. I have always loved City Market as a coffee option and I'll be back to have more from the menu - I especially want to try their B&G's. The space is small but vibrant. My only complaint while sitting at the bar was the guy working behind the counter that seemed like customer service skills were beneath him. Dude, find a desk job if saying hello to a customer right in front of you is such a chore. read more

Murmuration Eatery is such a cool spot in the City Market. The space is bright and modern with a really calm vibe. The bird mural and upstairs really caught my eye. I had their bagel with soft scrambled eggs. it was delicious and perfectly cooked. The homemade strawberry pop tart was so flaky and delicious! They share the space with City Market Coffee, so you can grab a good coffee or even a cocktail if you're in the mood. The staff was friendly and everything came out quickly. Great spot for a casual brunch or just to hang out and relax. I'll definitely be going back. read more

Stopped in for some cocktails and apps with a friend then came BACK another day to try more! I had the Shake Your Gin Feather which is such a nice refreshing drink for spring and summertime. I also tried the Dirty Bird Martini which was excellent! I had the fried pickles which were so good I almost forgot to take a picture but caught one last spear. On a Saturday I came back and got the Market Bloody Mary which is kind of its own little snack and it was perfect. I love the new set up at City Market Coffee and the cocktails and vibes are great! Everyone in there is very friendly even on those crazy market days. Love to visit as often as I can. read more

Connecting the two adjoining spaces adds some seating for the lucky few who can snag it on busy City Market weekends! The walls are decorated with beautiful murals of birds. They have expanded their menu and hours to include more breakfast, lunch, and even evening cocktails. Murmuration is now not only your go-to spot for coffee but also for food!! Place your order on the City Market Coffee side, and pick up your drinks and food from the counter on the Murmuration side. The breakfast sandwich was awesome, in my expert opinion. I'm not sure I have ever had a breakfast sandwich on brioche, and wow it was perfection!! Soft and sweet bread with delicious eggs and sausage. The biscuits and gravy also looked great. I am sure the lines will continue to be out the door on weekends for this awesome breakfast and lunch! I'm so happy to have this addition to City Market! read more

City Market Coffee expanded to add this wonderful little kitchen! It's the same great coffee and pastries with even better food! Using brioche for the breakfast sandwiches is a brilliant move and the eggs are cooked perfectly- soft and moist instead of overdone, dry and tough. There are now a couple seating areas inside, but when it's busy, and it gets VERY busy, you'll probably have to try to find a table outside. They have boozy options now, as well, and the prices are still much better than almost every other breakfast place you're going to find. I'm so happy they opened this shop, it takes the already-great City Market Coffee to another level! read more

Even on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, the vibe was stylish, calm, and welcoming. The bar has a modern, creative feel without trying too hard. The cocktails were outstanding. My wife ordered a Cosmo with a twist--just a splash of apple juice to lighten it up--and it was perfectly balanced and refreshing. I had the Kentucky Mule, which featured their house-made blueberry purée. That little touch took it to another level--fruity without being sweet, and super smooth. Amazing experience from the friendly staff. The food was delicious and served beautifully on the plate. My favorite is the avocado toast and the espresso martini. We have been to Murmuration Eatery twice. The first time we had a lavender matcha latte from the original Coffee Roastery side and a strawberry lavender lemonade mocktail from the new Murmuration side. Both were delicious! The second time, we came in before a KC Current game and had the grilled chicken sandwich (add avocado) and the turkey avocado sandwich. The chicken was perfectly cooked on a nice soft bun and had a house made honey mustard sauce that was delicious! The turkey sandwich was piled high with meat and served on nice, soft bread. Both were served with house made potato chips that were, as my grandmother used to say, "musty", as in " I MUST have another! The decor is beautifully done with a gorgeous mural with native birds and neat birds in all forms tucked here and there. We are looking forward to going back soon for cocktails at their new bar! read more

We live nearby and have been hoping for an affordable spot to grab a satisfying bite with friends and neighbors. It has finally arrived! The food is so flavorful! We tried the Breakfast Club and the Southwest Pile. The Club, while a classic in name, had a unique twist served with egg on a croissant with horseradish sauce. The SW Pile was the perfect blend of flavors and textures--warm, spicy chorizo; cool, creamy avocado and sour cream; crispy, crunchy hash brown. Delish! The interior design is also incredible. Drawing from the seasonal murmuration of starlings in the local area; they've created a beautiful mural.
