This is the second escape room I've done in town and this one is my favorite so far. The room we did was spy themed, which was super fun and the props and clues all went well with the theme. This was one element that was done better here than the other room I've done elsewhere. The room was $25 per person, which I prefer to having a flat fee for the entire room, and you are always in a private room with just your group (whereas some places will fill the whole room with additional people). The value for the cost is well worth it, due to some elements of the room. I can't go into much more detail than that so I don't give anything away! Your guide is not in the room with you, which was also a difference from the other escape room I've done. It was fun to have the clues on the screen. You get unlimited clues, and all were very helpful. We had a group of six people and we were just getting the door open as time ran out. It was exhilarating, challenging but not frustratingly so, and really well done. I will definitely go back to do the other room and they were working on a third room as well. read more

Went here with a party of 6 for something different and fun to do. All of us are 35-50 (3 couples). We had a blast. We decided to do the 009 challenge and it was definitely difficult. We had 4 doctors, a nurse and a teacher in our group, so we thought we would surely get through with no help with that much education in one room. 6 hints later and 50 secs to spare, we made it. We laughed a ton and thought the hour went by extremely fast. Two things that are nice about this place are that you don't share the room with other parties and the game master isn't in the room with you! Can't wait to go back and try the other room. read more

AMAZEBALLS!!! I had so much fun! I came with a group of 6 and we absolutely had a blast!! This isn't one that also scares you (which I think would be fun) but that didn't make our time any less awesome! Cell phone usage is strictly prohibited inside the escape room (which makes sense, wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone else) but I wish you could so I could show the coolness! haha The difficulty level isn't impossible but you've got to think outside of the box! It's also super important to have everyone try the same thing twice if it doesn't work for someone! I would definitely go again to try the other themed room and recommend to ANYONE! read more

This is one of the best places to go to for an adult small group birthday party! Went with a group of 6 all aged 22 yrs and older. Each person has a different personality which made this Virus Room easier to explore. I have heard that this room was set up to be solved in less of an order where as the other room, the crime solver, is set to be step by step (more structured). The game master was great at getting us clues in a timely manner even though some were what we had already discovered (it has to be hard to keep up with us since the cameras are not at all angles) I will say, the most challenging part is understanding the technique of the game. I had a hard time with figuring out what some of the clues meant or how to put them together in order to move on. I guess this is why it's perfect for teams, each person can explore and show their strengths! read more

Went to Escape MI for a team outing. Split in teams between the two rooms and had a blast! It's a great team building event and the rooms and clues are quite intriguing. Definitely a great experience and would love to go back again. read more

Our family went to Escape Michigan over Christmas Break. It was a really good time. The kids (ages 18, 20, 22) all enjoyed it as did my husband and I. It was fun to work together to try find the clues. The GameMaster was available through the video screen to help with clues. The clues were not so obvious, though, to make solving it too easy. We took the little bits of information that was given to us to keep working on our own. Overall, it was a lot of fun and I would recommend Escape Michigan to a group of older kids/adults looking to try something new and different. read more

Escape Michigan is a very fun place. I went there the first time with a work outing, the group using both rooms. The whole group had a blast. It was easy to schedule and the game master was great. Then I went back again with family. Same great experience the second time, and even better since we escaped! I've been to other escape rooms outside of Grand Rapids and I consider Escape Michigan to be top notch. I highly recommend it. read more

This was just... ok. If you have never been to an escape room, it may seem awesome as people have reviewed on here. I've been to others that are far better. Some clues were extremely difficult to read! Literally too small or so worn you cannot read them. A lot of clues made zero sense. The people helping with clues can't hear you so it's like a game of sign language. That takes up a lot of time that you don't have!! Staff was young and not very interactive nor "exciting" to work with. If you have a coupon or Groupon, it's worth it. Not worth full price!! read more

My husband and I went to Escape Michigan last weekend and did the Secret Agent room, as a date night for our anniversary. We had such an amazing time! Even though we didn't escape (we were on the last clue!), it was so much fun! We would have definitely been better off with more people, but it was still great fun for two people and we really were quite close to getting out. I've been to another Escape Room before and I really enjoyed how Escape Michigan was set up. I loved that the interactions with the game master were all done on the TV screen in the room, it felt really non-intrusive and helped us stay in the moment of the game. I also really liked how the clues didn't come right out and tell you exactly what to do next, but just tried to steer you in the right direction. I began to notice little touches like the crowd cheers when we got a clue open, that were just really fun and added to the excitement. I could tell that this was done by the same owners as the Haunt, as the same attention to detail was paid. We will definitely be back to do the next room soon! read more

Just went here last night and the experience was incredibly entertaining, rewarding, and overall fun. The guy who runs it is very friendly. Our game master also was very nice. The game itself has many challenges that range in difficulty. We did the virus room, which is supposedly the harder of the two rooms. Well decorated with many challenges. Clues were helpful most of the time. Bottom line is that if you're looking for a innovative experience on a weekend night, do this. Go with people you know, not randoms. There is a lot of communication that is required and you want to be comfortable with your teammates. read more
