As someone who wears a lot of outdoor type clothing, I was happy to discover this store in Coeur d'Alene however, I was shocked to see that they carry fur. They well Canada Goose coats that have coyote fur trim on the hoods. Canada Goose has a history of using fur they obtain from trappers. Animals who are trapped in the wild can suffer for days from blood loss, shock, dehydration, frostbite, gangrene, and attacks by predators. They may be caught in steel-jaw traps that slam down on their legs, often cutting to the bone; Conibear traps, which crush their necks with 90 pounds of pressure per square inch. They certainly don't need to sell fur at Escape Outdoors. I will never buy anything at this horrible store that support animal cruelty. read more

This is my first purchase with Escape Outdoors. In February 2024, I bought a Canada Goose coat, only to find defects right out of the box--loose threading and strands sticking out of the outer shell, almost as if it had been poorly repaired. What's frustrating is that Escape Outdoors took the time to verify the coat's authenticity but still knowingly shipped a damaged product without notifying me. Customers shouldn't have to pay shipping and handling fees to return defective items, especially when purchasing a premium brand like Canada Goose. For an item that is advertised at full price, the customer expects the item to be in "pristine" condition. I like the products they offer but may have to reconsider other retailers for my next purchase. read more

How is it that I am here roughly once a week and haven't left a review? I am certain you don't know the answer to that question and sadly I have no excuse. I am a regular browser/buyer of the additional 20% off clearance rack and like to hit them at the end of season. I find all the gems for a fraction of the price at the right time! Deals aside, the customer service is on point. Amy and Lexi have both been working there for years and their love/passion for the outdoors and quality customer service really shows with each customer. I have purchased all of my swimwear here over the last 4 years and I buy my base layers for winter here as well as my sunnies and I am happy to report the sunglasses selection is A+ without being intimidating! There is a local shirt company that adorns the shelves right when you walk in and I am not at all embarrassed to say that I own 10 or so of those shirts/pullovers! Called this business looking for a whitewater rash guard or UV shirt and wash greeted over the phone by a very nice woman who gave me great directions to the store. My wife found a Kühl down jacket here this winter that she really liked, however we decided to wait on it. Good service from one of the associates left a great impression on us though, so we ended up going back and getting it. Having an EO in CDA allows you to get some nicer outdoor brands without making a trip to REI, although as already stated by another reviewer, without as good a refund policy. read more

This is such an awesome store, selection, service and quality -and always 110% customer service! I stopped by feeling exhausted after a 20 mile bike ride to Higgins point today and was greeted within ten seconds of entry and loved the explanation and story about an on sale hoodie I purchased. She explained that a local artist designs the prints with their store logo and mine had silhouettes worked in of Lake CdA!! read more
