The staff at Sports Creel are fantastic! Towards the end of last ski season, the outsoles of my ski boots were toast. I was a ski instructor at Sun Valley, and took my boots to a local resort shop. The guy there told me my boots couldn't be fixed, and tried to sell me $900 boots (that was with a pro deal). Fast forward to this fall, I decided to check out Sports Creel to discuss a new pair of boots. After telling TJ my issue, she assured me that they could fix my boots (I had originally thought this as well, and felt so validated that I had been correct and the first guy wasn't) and if they couldn't, she would set me up with a new pair. The staff were able to fix my boots, as well as mount bindings for me, all for $75!!!! They also told me it would be 10-14 days, but my boots and skis were ready after 7 days!!! I could not recommend Sports Creel enough! read more

This is basically the only place to go in Spokane for skis and boots. Ski clothing you gotta go to Shred but for boots nobody else will come close to providing the level of service you will get here. They have new stuff and used stuff too; you can get boots for $150 or $900, but they never tried to upsell me. My first trip, I spent hours getting fitted for boots. They do try hard to figure out what is right for your specific foot/leg and performance. They stand by their work too because I've been back several times to adjust my boots and find new ones. Best ski shop within 100 +miles. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I needed new ski boots and I wanted rear entry boots. I am 82+ years old and wanted a boot that was easy to put on, so I asked for a rear entry boot. The person helping me said take off your shoes and put on the socks you are going to ware, so I did and he says your foot is to narrow for rear entry boot. So he shows me a full tilt boot and spends over a hour fitting the boot to my skinny feet. He never ventures off to work with other people. I was the most important person in the store. DO NOT BUY SKI BOOTS ANYWHERE ELSE! I bought ski boots at a different store three years ago, and the boot fitter struggled to help me resolve pressure points and pain. I could not ski more than two runs without pain. I had given up and was ready to buy new boots, so I went to talk to Micah at Sports Creel. Let me preface this by saying I've been going to Sports Creel exclusively for 10+ years now, and know several of the people that work at the s. Today I went there and got treated as though I didn't exist, was hoping to get my daughter on skis and have the Sports Creel be a part of her introduction to skiing and hopefully her shop of choice as well. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Whoever the guy was that was "helping us" couldn't be bothered, (yea bro I get it kids skis aren't very exciting but it's about making life long customers here) the shop was busy but not ridiculously so, and I just got a "what are you even doing here" vibe from Junior cool kid helping me. He curtly informed me that it would be at least 30 minutes before we could even look at skis. I'm not one to start dropping names "let me talk to so and so" and so I took my daughter to another local shop that was happy and excited to help us out. Sad to say my relationship with Sports Creel has come to an end (and they do have a great selection), an air of arrogance and superiority has crept in to the point where they act like you're an incompetent inconvenience rather than a customer. Luck of the draw I suppose. Like I said there are some great people who work there and I really love to support local businesses especially ones that are blocks from my house but I'll be taking my business to Ski Shack in Hayden from now on, at least I'll be treated respectfully whether I'm looking for high end gear for myself or beginner setups as my kiddo makes progress. I was referred to Sport's Creel by an employee at the 49 Degrees North Rental shop. He said that this was the only place he would trust to customize his or anyone else's boots. I have had a life long issue with getting ski boots to fit correctly due to having an exceptionally high instep, a high arch and a narrow heel. I had hoped that ski boots had evolved enough over the decades that I would find a pair that could be adjusted to fit correctly. This hadn't proved to be the case for me. This review would be even longer if I went into detail re: the many boots I have tried and had customized since the 1970's to no avail. Back to the Sports Creel: all I can say is WOW! TJ, one of the owners of the shop, was my boot fitter. I had not brought both boots so I had to come back another day. Unfortunately they were closed the next two days and I was leaving the area 3 days later. I figured I would come back next month when I'd be back in Spokane. Nope. TJ said "no problem, I'm coming in tomorrow anyway. Text me and I'll tell you when to come in". Did I mention this was her day off? It bears repeating. I hesitated because of this but she insisted it wasn't an issue. She spent almost 3 hours the next day working on my boots. By the time I left, I was wearing my boots with no numbness in either foot for the first time in my life. I've been skiing since I was a toddler and am 66 yrs old. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sports Creel and TJ. I'd give 10 stars if I could. I anticipated a service fee of at least $200. due to the amount of work and patience it took to get my boots to fit correctly and would have considered the fee worth it. I was charged less then a quarter of that. TJ also helped my brother in-law with his boots while I was there. We will be customers for life. Super stoked to give this family business 5 stars!!! I have never felt the need to write a review, so this is my first and here we go... My new factory ski boots I got last year as a Christmas gift hurt my feet and never fit right. So a couple weeks ago I Googled a place to fix ski boots and 'Sports Creel' came up. So with my ski boots I went to check it out. I was warmly greeted by a very busy store. I didn't have to wait long before one of the owners, Micah, found me and was he ever knowledgeable! He had different insoles put in for me, heat molded my liners and even kept the boots an extra week to custom punch the plastic out further where it was hurting me. I paid for the new custom liners, but he wouldn't even charge me for the molding or punching. Then to be even more awesome, he gave me a free hat I had brought to the register to pay for too. I actually felt guilty he was so generous with his time and resources, but made me feel like a priority during our interaction. Outstanding service and am going back to buy skis in a few weeks. Definitely earned all my future business. I've also recommended them to friends that are buying new gear this year too. The Genteman's family business has my vote! Super knowledgeable owners, family owned for 3 generations, and very boutique feel store. They use heat molding to adjust the shape of their boots to the size of my feet and 3D foot/ankle scanners to get multiple measurements. I felt like I was getting a custom tailored Italian suit, but boots instead. Prices were comparable to amazon but the high-tech customization technology they used and the exceptional customer service made me feel like I was getting much more value for the price. Most everyone who comes into the shop will tell you that Sports Creel gave/gives them unbeatable & personable customer service, uparralled boot fitting services, comfortable boots (no longer an oxymoron), molding or reshaping of old liners or ill fitting boots, great deals on tuning services, new skis, new bindings, trade ins for new sets, etc.. For me- Sports Creel has given me all of that PLUS the unbelievable gift of the ability to ski with my SN daughter, the one sport that we are able to do together. Because of a major car accident 17 years ago that left my calf & ankle severely damaged, finding ski boots that fit & that I'm able to actually function in was impossible.. until TJ & Micah. TJ had me try on every possible make & model she knew of (which seems to be EVERY make & model ) that could possibly accommodate my calf & ankle. After 2ish hours & several tries & retries..it looked like the shop had vomited ski boots but she had done it- shed found a boot that buckled all the way up from my toe to my calf. Then comes the functional part- Enter Micah the Magician.. he literally sculpted a boot & insole for me (not a heat mold kinda thing.. he physically cut & made one for mishaped foot & heel deficit) So that my foot could rest flat and even in the boot with my heel in the pocket. He shaved, scraped, molded, stretched, cut & tweaked the shell of my boot until I put it on that final time, and it felt like I had 2 perfectly normal legs again. When I sat down to take them off so we could heat mold the liners, I looked up at him & said "you did it.." not even realizing there were tears on my cheeks. TJ & Micah spent 3 days & roughly 5-6 hours between them with me personally, not counting the extra time spent actually even working on the boots! I'm nobody special, just a woman who read good Yelp reviews about them & decided to give their shop a try as a last ditch effort & they made me feel like a family friend from the moment I walked in the door. Each day they were simultaneously helping 1-2 other clients at the same time as me & each client seemed to be getting just as meticulous of service as I was. The shop was busy & full of people every time I was in, returning customers & brand new ones like me.. everyone was greeted with a smile, how can I help you or (if everyone was busy with customers) gimme just a sec & I'll be right with you etc. This is a local home town shop that knows their clients by name & waves to them when they come in to grab their finished gear. Wow, I can't believe that no one has reviewed this AWESOME ski shop. My wife and I dropped in at the Creel after a recommendation by my Schweitzer ski instructor that the Sport Creel was "the" place to buy ski equipment in Spokane. I read 5, 5 star google reviews about this place as well. I am a beginning skier and my wife is advanced, and we were going in looking for new boots. These guys are awesome. In about 30 seconds we were checking out boots and you could just tell these folks know what they are talking about! They are family owned for 3 generations. They only sell ski stuff because they don't want to sell products that they have not tested or are not knowledgeable about. It would be easy for them to sell snowboards, but because they don't snowboard they don't sell boards! Wow! Needless to say we spent about 2 hours trying on several different types of boots...there was no pressure or up selling. They then thermo-molded them for free. As I was sitting in my warm boots I was able to hear them reviewing skis with other customers. You could just tell the level of passion and knowledge was there in the way they talked about their products. One of the google reviews said this was the best ski shop he had been to in the country. I thought in Spokane? Ahhhhh Yep, simple, awesome service with great tested products they know in and out.
