What an awesome experience! Our group of four completed the tiki room, which was a blast. The challenges were well thought out and there was a great variety of puzzles to solve. It also had some really cool special effects we haven't seen in other places! After we finished the room, the owners asked if we wanted to "test drive" their new AI fantasy room. As someone who has done a lot of escape rooms, this room was like nothing else I've ever experienced in all the best ways! It's actually designed to be completed over multiple sessions, and they have a system to save your group's progress so that you can come back and keep working from where you left off. We had so much fun and will ABSOLUTELY be coming back to keep tackling the AI room. Anybody in the area who likes escape rooms or wants to try one out should absolutely come here! read more

We didn't need the grandmaster much BUT he was friendly and inviting upon our arrival and departure from Escape Room Sarasota. Online booking (so I was told) was fast and easy. There is only one room available at this location currently (King's Gambit) and we were able to get through it with a group of 6 people in about ~40 minutes. We did need a few hints around the way and the room I think would've been difficult to complete with less than 3 people given how involved some of the puzzles are. Overall had a great experience here the room is not as high tech as some of the other escape rooms I've done but we still had a lot of fun! read more

Our family had a ton of fun at the Escape Room Sarasota. The room was spacious enough you didn't feel claustrophobic even with a large group. It was a bit confusing what you were to do at first but once we found the first clue we were on a roll! Took us just about an hour to find all the clues to escape and they definitely take some out of the box creative thinking skills to solve! Great fun, especially on a rainy afternoon. This was so much fun!!! This was a birthday adventure for me. It was my first time so I didn't know what to expect. Rules and objectives were straight forward and the moderator was very helpful. When you arrive you sign in and sign a waiver. Of course there are lockers so you can put away your phone. No pictures or video recording. There are two missions to choose from. The options were Cabin in the Woods or the detective. We did the detective and no worries because you are prepped prior to your experience. This was a great communication and team work activity for my husband and I. I'm sure it would be fun in a large group as well. I could see the potential for arguments or distinction if a team is not on the same page. We have now done both rooms and both were very fun! We did the Cabin in the Woods room with our kids and another family with kids. It was just challenging enough and all four kids had several chances to contribute. We may venture down to their other location in Venice to check out more rooms on our next trip! Fun activity for an hour! We were in SRQ for a few days and saw rain in the forecast, so we were looking for indoor activities. This was perfect. We did the Detective room. It was a little smaller and easier than other rooms we have done back home in IL. Which was OK because there were only the two of us plus two other ladies. We were able to escape with a couple of hints. The clues were logical and flowed in order. The ending was a twist and a bit more challenging. Would definitely be back if we are in SRQ on another rainy day! Afterwards we stopped over at Geckos next door to celebrate with some beers. read more

There were three hints and even with the 60 minutes and hints, 4 of us still couldn't figure it out. I don't think we got any answers without a hint from the game master. The staff here was helpful. I had bought a Groupon deal but wasn't able to reserve since it was less than an hour before the time I wanted. I was staying at the hotel next door so we walked over and she was able to get us into the slot and take the Groupon. We were. paired with a great group of 4 ladies. We did not get out, but were close (everyone says that right?). Their bathrooms were not working when we were there. It is my understanding they have one it had just recently become inoperable. This was a fun activity that my husband & 2 of my adult children did on Mother's Day. We booked Cabin in the Woods (had a Groupon too so saved money). The girl working there was friendly. We had fun but I was expecting it to be more of a scary adventure but it wasn't scary at all. I also don't like that they put you with another group if possible because you can have 8 in a room. Would've preferred it to be just us. I know you can ask for that & there is a different (I'm sure higher) cost, but being my first time I didn't really know what to expect. In the future, we will make sure it's just the group we bring. Nothing against the other group, they were nice people but 2 were younger kids (9 & 12) & I would've preferred an all adult experience. But all in all it was fun, the puzzles were tricky but we made it out with 3 1/2 minutes to spare! read more

Well from the first minute I knew I wasn't cut out to become an elf, Jalix had way more Christmas spirit and energy than I can even imagine ever having! My family of 4 failed to become elves today, but we had a room to ourselves and still had a lot of fun. Sometimes when you don't get a clue you just get stuck and that can be a little frustrating. I think they did a good job of trying to get us unstuck without giving away much. I can appreciate that it is a balancing act. Way more intuitive than an escape room we attempted in Montreal two years ago. Took us till now to try one again cause that was way more frustrating due to missing clues. This one was well maintained and doable and I think we'd be willing to try it again sometime. read more

Terrible experience. I booked this time slot 3 weeks ago and had the first 4 spots. Owner redeemed my groupon voucher for 4 in advance and I had a confirmation email for 4. We have to plan ahead since we have 2 teens that work weekends. We drove an hour and a half to get there. Upon arrival the clerk said we were booked for 2 not 4. They had overbooked the game by two and made up nonsense to cover their mistake. They argued we had only 2 though I had voucher and email showing otherwise. They refused to let us play the room or take another time same day. No apologies. Nothing. We have played over 15 escape rooms and have never experienced such rudeness or disorganization before. Owner was also unapologetic and rude. I cannot emphasize enough how terrible this place or these people are. Go down the street to Escape Countdown instead. We were walk-ins after awful Escape Room Sarasota and Escape Countdown was so nice and accommodating. Played jail break and that was a lot of fun. The issue absolutely was number of players. We arrived at 240 and they were not walking other players back. Pure and simple they overbooked and were trying to cover their mistake. The time she spent arguing with us could have been used to get us in the game. You had 8 players from another group. We had 4. The room accommodates 10. You overbooked pure and simple. So you mean to tell me if we had shown up 30 minutes early you could have fit 12 people into a room for 10? Would not have happened. I had no outburst other than dispute we were booked for 4 and not 2. I had 2 documents and staff called me a liar. I did not sign up for the crappy detective escape room or drive almost 2 hours for that. I wanted customer service like what I received from the competitor. Admit you overbooked and called us liars and late to cover your mistake. Shady business dealings and rude staff. Never admitted they made a mistake or apologized and trying to save face on social media. Admit your mistake and apologize. You saw a greater profit in the group of 8 than the group of 4 with a groupon. read more

I brought my 12 yo stepson here over winter break. We met up with my friend who has a 14 yo son. We were added to a group of 5 other people that were from out of town. The other group said they had done quite a few other escape rooms so I was feeling great about the situation since I had not done one before. Their group consisted of 5 adults & 2 children. It was a nice mixture of ages. We did the cabin one & unfortunately we did not get out in time. I can't wait to go again! I'm hoping they have another Groupon. We booked by clicking online earlier this week on the calendar for today's date. As soon as we walk in and our name was not on the board, the manager asks for our family if we are aware that their calendar automatically bumps you to the "next available date". Nope. I thought that when we booked online by clicking on a calendar date and submitting our credit card info, that we were paying for the date we clicked on. Good news -- we got a reservation down the street for cheaper for a more intriguing escape room. What a hoot! The hour flew by! Although we didn't solve the entire puzzle we had a great time. We were a group of 8 (3 moms, 3 12 year old boys and a couple of peeps that wanted some company).
