We had an awesome experience here, and we were surprised at the high quality of the experience for an escape room place that's "in the mall" but it was great! Kat was our "game master" and supervised us, we called for one hint and she did it speedy! We had 5 people in the Puppet Theater experience, I cannot imagine 8 people in the small space...although the reservation would let you book that many people. Our experience was one of the worst I have ever had at an escape room. We did the Jurassic theme room and it was a complete waste of time and money. I should have known from the start that it was going to be bad when our game master Kiernan said "I don't give you any clues for the first 10 minutes because I like to see you struggle". That's probably the only honest thing that was said to us. I have been to many, many escape rooms over the years and I have NEVER had someone refuse to show us the rest of the clues if we didn't make it out in time until today. Any decent game master pays attention to if a group is struggling and helps keep them on pace to finish, but that didn't even remotely happen. Kiernan did make sure to come on the intercom and say "I like the creativity but no" to something we were trying in a condescending tone though. Then Kiernan came in after we didn't finish, and once again used the flat yet pompous tone to ask if we had a good time or wanted a picture. I guess us struggling is fun or something. I asked if we could be walked through the rest of the clues and was told no because "there's a group coming right after you and they might hear", while leaving the door to the room open, as if there weren't multiple doors that could have been closed so a conversation could have been shielded. As if groups aren't in the waiting room when games are going on anyway. Like, if it's company policy or something to not reveal the rest of a puzzle when a group fails, just say that, but don't lie to me and say that it's because a group might hear. Funny enough, after going to reset the room for the next group, and me mentioning that I have NEVER had someone refuse to walk through a failed room, Kiernan's story changed to "I just don't have time". So which one is it, they might hear or you don't have time? Kiernan did make sure to tell us that "why reveal the clues? It won't be any fun if you come back". Another story change. I guess me asking why I would come back was an invitation for Kiernan to mention some guy that comes in multiple times in a row to the same room by himself to solve it, clearly implying that the only solution was for us to come back and spend money again. Why would I return to throw more money down the drain for a terrible experience? Kiernan also made sure to give a profoundly uncaring shoulder shrug at this point, so that was fun. While the props looked cool, this was the worst time I've ever had at as escape room and I'm extremely disappointed with the way we were treated. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

Went here as a birthday party and it was very fun! Staff were very good at verbally explaining all choices, options and possibilities that were open to us. We chose a specific room and they explained the rules and the exact way to exit if we wanted or needed to and the ability to re-enter after leaving. The even demonstrated this. Our room had a marionette/theater theme and the puzzles were funny and challenging. We had seven in our group and we all worked together sometimes but this room was big enough that we could split up and work on puzzles separately as well. Sometimes, what one group in one section solved opened an area/item in another part of the room. At times, we had several puzzles to work out which kept us all engaged all the time but it was sometimes confusing to know what we did that opened that particular thing. But I really enjoyed this. I have done about 20 escape rooms and the Cartman room was by far my favorite room I have done! 10/10. Well made and super fun!

I really want to like this place, but the last room, Outbreak, just left such a terrible feeling. I had previously done Meltdown (fine, not great) and Southpark (fun, good time) at this location. Now, the room Outbreak uses the same exact room as Meltdown (not listed on the website at ALL) its these slow computers/puzzles that take FOREVER to reset if you mess them up. We mentioned at the beginning that we had done Meltdown before and the gamemaster didn't tell us that this is essentially a recycled room. The clue master seemed frustrated with us and did not seem to care about our feedback on some of the clues. We have done over 20 escape rooms and never felt this way after. Usually, we want to do another escape room right away, but the feeling after this room I got was RUN AWAY. So if you have already done meltdown, DON'T DO OUTBREAK! read more

We recently visited Escape the Room and played Jurassic Escape. Victory was ours with less than 3 minutes to spare! I was a little skeptical about visiting an escape room that was in the mall, thinking it may be a little cheesy, but I was pleasantly surprised! The room definitely had some really awesome effects that I have not seen before. We moved between three different rooms, primarily spending our time in the last two. As a group of 3 semi-beginners I felt like this room was pretty challenging. There were times when it felt like the clues did not lead you anywhere, and it was just by luck that you were able to figure something out, or know what to work on next. Not as a linear as some of the other rooms I have played. Luckily the staff gives you a walkie-talkie, and will help guide you anytime you need assistance. As far as pricing goes, Escape the Room is on the expensive side, roughly $30 per person for the hour. Because of Covid, our game was private, which I actually prefer. I hope that is an option that they keep going forward. Overall, worse a visit, and it made for some good family fun. I definitely want to check out the Cartman room next! read more

Went with the family over the holiday as a group activity. Loved it! It's inside the mall. Close to Sears. We had made reservations and they sent a confirmation/ reminder email. We showed up and all the rooms were in use. They were busy and clearly popular. We did the "puppet theater" room. They have 5, soon to be 6 different rooms/puzzles. We solved ours with 4 mins left. Our cluemaster was good to us and put clues on the screen. The room has a tablet for note taking- similar to an etch a sketch. Yes the room was small when u have a full party 8 ppl. You can buy out the room to not be with strangers. It's hard enough to solve with ppl you know and like. Our room had some issues, ppl break things, the rooms are used basically every hour and dozens of ppl touch and mess with every part of the room.... wear and tear. However, my mother in law sliced her finger on the chair because it seemed like there was something in it because previous people had tampered/ ripped it and made it seem like we were suppose to manipulate it too. Not sure how often they repair the rooms but ours definitely had some "broken" bits but that didn't impact us solving/ winning. We would all agree to do it again! read more

We had a great time at Escape the Room! We did the bank heist room. There are lots of puzzles to solve. Our clue master did a nice job.

No instructions, struggled with key piece of equipment not working and received no help. Will not be returning.

Overall a great time! Had one technical difficulty, but he helped us through it. Thank you very much for a fun family outing.

A high tech room does not a good escape room make. My friends and I are escape room fanatics, and I've done probably over 50 escape rooms (Denver, Portland, San Francisco, LA, Seattle) in the past 4 years. Some rooms are high tech, some rooms are low tech - what makes them great are the quality and flow of the puzzles, the room's immersion (set) & story to make it memorable! Escape the room has excellent immersion sets & props, and to a certain extent, story - but that's about it. We did the Jurrassic Park room first, and then Western Bank Heist room. The Jurrassic park room even smelled like hay and urine! (They said they meant for it to smell that way, let's hope that's true!) Also, the staff was wonderful as they checked us in, and led us through the whole speel of do's and don'ts of the room and the backstory. What we found, compared to other rooms we've done: the puzzles were just BAD. Like, lazy. For example - "here are 4 random numbers etched somewhere let's try it on a lock" to here are random numbers again, and but good luck knowing what it goes to or what to do with it because the text is SUPER ambiguous and relates to nothing. Also - they are so high tech that some things just didn't work properly which was both frustrating & confusing because you don't know if you did it right the first time and it just didn't work - resulting in us having to call for help more times than we would have liked. Ultimately, in those situations (which was too many in my opinion) something was not set up properly, or something didn't work properly. We did not enjoy the Jurassic room (a lack of number of puzzles, room malfunctions) but I have to admit the immersion was top notch. We didn't want to judge based solely on one - and, they could tell we were a little disappointed at how the room went (we got out but so many things went wrong) so we asked them for their recommendation and they recommended the bank heist room - so we did and it was equally disappointing but not in the same sense. The bank heist room had 1 malfunction, was a mix of high and low tech (magnets, and combination locks), but again, the puzzles were so random and "out there" that you take yourself out of the room for a second to contemplate what the designers were even thinking when they mapped the puzzles out. Terrible. Sorry Escape the Room - we will be giving our business elsewhere. 1 star for your great staff, 2nd star for making the jurassic park room smell like urine and hay. We love escape rooms, this is our 8th. We did the Jurassic Escape room, we got out with 3 minutes left, and we have mixed feelings. 1-the room is aesthetically amazing. The dinosaurs, cages, noises, all of that was SUPER cool. 2-very very very non-linear. Like, do a puzzle and come back to it 20 minutes later because it does something, non-linear. I would venture to say almost none of the puzzles applied to anything you could currently apply them to; after you did them. 3-a few of the gadgets just didn't work, I appreciated how high tech it was, but we found ourselves spending a lot of time trying things 6-10 times with the right answer just because the technology was struggling. 4-the staff was super fun and incredible. So, overall, we liked the theme and set up, and the people were great, but the execution was just not there for us, especially as one of the more expensive rooms on the market (we usually pay $25-$28). read more

Went in for the western room and the power went out for what would have been the first 20 minutes. Apparently it was ok to call us and cancel but not possible to move us to another spot or another room. All we were offered was a voucher to reschedule and was greeted with a very bitchy attitude when asking for a refund. Was really looking forward to it and was going to do all of the rooms. Do NOT book this without knowing that you will pay online only to arrive and find out that they are putting strangers in the room with you...or even alone with your minors! I paid more than $120 for my son's 15 bday with 3 friends. Even called to confirm minors can enter the room alone...was NEVER told that they might put strangers in the room with them without my consent! Arrived with four teens to find out that there would be others in the room with them. No warning...no info on website...no options to fix the problem. I offered to pay more to get the room for my son and his friends and was denied. I asked to be shown where this very important information is on the website and was told...it's not. Room was wheelchair accessible and was able to be easily maneuvered around the room. It was definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon with friends. Knowledge of the show wasn't necessary for the puzzles. read more

The staff is friendly and the rooms are beautiful, but the random, illogical puzzles are incredibly tedious. It is not fun to find digits written haphazardly around a room and then try every permutation of them in every combination lock. It doesn't help that devices don't work properly, making some puzzles impossible to complete without help. read more

We had a group of 4 do the Jurassic Escape and the visual/sound effects were so stunning! Loved the set design and we had a lot of fun. It was definitely spooky at some times and it was a bit difficult with some puzzles but it was still a great experience (we were able to escape with a good chunk of time remaining). Do not recommended. They use a lot of technology that doesn't work and so every 5 minutes you have to ask for a clue. 3 key pieces of technology to get through the room did not work and when the girl came in when we were done and so "oh sorry. It is what it is. You got out yay." No, we got out because you told us what to do. I didn't pay for 6 of us to go through to talk to you and have you lead us through the thing. We would not have been able to get through without asking for help because the mirror touch screen game didn't work, the thermal wall star did not show up on the iPad, the lock on the jumper cable was unlocked when we went into the second room. It's unorganized and not fair that we had to pay to talk on the walkie to someone. read more

We have done a few escape rooms around Denver. We were excited about this one because it seemed more put together, but probably one of the worst we have been to. We were not given a back story at all. We also didn't actually have to escape, the girl just came in and said we did it. We did the meltdown room, the meltdown was supposed to happen but the games that we were doing kept it from melting down. We also weren't sure that we were doing the games correctly because it didn't give us any indication of what was going on. There was no real flow of do this to get that. read more

Awful. If 0 starts was possible it would be that. We have waisted $400 at this new location. Our group loves escapes room and I get being new has growing pains but this is far more. From staff that just throws you in a room with no story says you have 60:00 min good luck shuts the door explains nothing to the 2 new people that joined our game to over booking and letting 13 people in one room followed by rude unprofessional staff. We are on a ton of pages and forums and will make sure we put out a warning for this location we have tried 4 of 5 rooms with just excuses trying to get us back and We tried to give the benefit of the doubt we really did but you realize it's the establishment. They have single-handedly ruined it for four new players. Don't waste your money go anywhere else. read more

Our experience was terrible. We were 3 people and stuck with 3 other groups to make 10 people in the group. The room is too small for 10 people and being stuck with strangers sucks. I spent $100 for the three of us to stand around and watch 2 guys grabbing the clues and shoving their way around the room. The whole thing lasted 35 minutes. The manager gave me a store credit because our experience was so bad, but I'm not interested in going back. read more

We have done a number of escape rooms around the Denver area and, after receiving a gift certificate for Escape the Room, signed up to give them a try. The negative reviews gave us some pause but we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. Pros: Puzzles were logical and presented just enough challenge in solving. Items were working as anticipated. Cons: There wasn't a huge variety of puzzles. It would have been nice to have some word play, spatial puzzles or other puzzle types to add variety. The puzzle was very linear. Solve A, Solve B, Solve C with no real variation possible. There wasn't really enough for the number of people in the room to do. We had 8 people in a room designed for 10 and there were still people standing around for much of the time. There was a sound effect that occurred every time something was opened or revealed but it took us several times before we realized what it was. We had access to part of the room that was obviously supposed to be secured from solvers. I repeatedly attempted to convince our party that we weren't supposed to do anything with it but they ended up turning off the smoke machine that was part of a later effect. read more

This was a good experience overall, two of the three rooms were well planned and executed, the third not so much. There were very loud and startling noises in two of the rooms that made my kids (ages 8 and 11) cry and want to leave, and were quite annoying for the adults as well. The puzzles to solve were fairly average, but the set construction was definitely above average. read more

We enjoyed the Jurassic themed room and while we didn't beat the clock and the room was fairly complicated and non linear in terms of clues, I have to give a hugeeeeeeee shoutout to the staff! We did the escape room with a few friends and our 3 MONTH OLD SON!!!! Yeah, we are crazy. The staff was super accommodating with the stroller, they warned us when there would be loud noises and were kind enough to put a chair in the room so I could feed my son and I didn't have to miss out on the fun!! We decided to do a team building event at Escape the Room Littleton and could not have been Happier! From start to finish this was so much fun! The Clue Master Ashley and Assistant Manager Bridgette were Awesome! They did everything possible to make sure our experience was nothing short of perfect! There were 10 of us in the Western Bank Heist room and every one of us would highly recommend this for team building or for family and friends! We can't wait to go back and try a new room! We had a group of 8 people with ages ranging from 9 to 59. We did the western bank heist and it was perfect! The game was challenging enough for the adults, but straightforward enough to keep the younger participants engaged and able to help with the clues. Escape the room was awesome! My whole family got together (in our awesome Christmas sweaters) to go through the Jurassic Park room--and wow, it looked so realistic!! We've done numerous escape rooms in the past, and this had by far the most intricate aesthetics! The decor of the space could be a movie set! We had a great time and made great time! Sydney was our host, and was not only well spoken, but also friendly and inviting. She was great to work with and I totally recommend her!
