The ride is about 40 minutes and includes some information on the history of the area (including about the buried town of Singapore- so fascinating) as well as a quick stop at the top of a dune. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of dense fog in the area for our ride, but it was still a good time. They get going pretty quick, but I wouldn't say it's a thrill ride. Definitely hold on to your hats/loose items! We saw two young fawns in the woods which was a highlight of the tour. There is a souvenir shop with some snacks, bottled drinks, bathrooms, and some historical items like newspaper clippings about Singapore. Plenty of parking and some outside seating as well.

We had a great time on our bus tour around Lake Michigan. We did a lot of things but never felt…read morerushed. We stayed in great hotels/casinos/resorts and we were well fed! Most of our meals were included. Kimberly, our guide, took care of everything. She had fun trivia contests about the places we were going to visit, or had just visited, while we rode the bus. She always had bottled water and snacks available. She really tried to make sure the elderly among us didn't have to walk too far and had help with their luggage. George, our driver, was friendly, helpful, and did a great job maneuvering that 55 ft long bus in and out of some tight spaces. 10/10!

First trip was a scary disaster as the driver was very inept at using the lift, refused to lock chair wheels, etc. Luckily had an aide who intervened and kept me from plunging off of the lift several times. Second trip, called day ahead to make sure appropriate bus and driver would be available. Chair lift did not work, second bus sent, lift did not work, and third bus the same! Everyone waiting and transferring busses in very cold weather. Again, luckily, had an aide with me who had to lift me into owners vehicle for round-trip. Not what I paid two tickets for. Do not book a bus trip if you are in a wheelchair!, no refund.

If only my daughter gave me a heads up. I'm now prepared for our next hike, future Yelp coming. This event was supposed to be for a different day, a weekday. Time permitting, I recommend a weekday to visit. It was an hour wait just to get into the park on a beautiful Saturday. (We were warned by the team at the visitor center, but decided to do it anyway). Few dining choices, but WOW, look at all the beach BBQ set ups. I almost asked to join a few. Atmosphere - What a beautiful day today. The hike got better and easier when we got to the trees with shade. Hiking on the beach was just too hot for me. Well again, I did not dress for this event... 15,000 acres, 50 miles of trails, 300 mile lake. Please see the pictures. Open 7 days a week, Yelp hours differ, check with the park. Swimming hours from 11am to 6pm, well that is when there are lifeguards. Events and activities, see pictures or websites. Public showers and bathrooms - Keep in mind there are thousands of people using these, so the conditions reflect that. Service - Small helpful visitor center, see pictures. Also with a Yelp check-in, you get 5 free postcards. They convinced us to go to the state park rather than the national park. Good thing because I left my annual national park pass in my truck in CA. Price - $12 a car, discount for locals ($7). If you walk from the visitor center, $2 a person, but that is a 2+ mile walk each way, in the hot sun! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1986. Next time we will come much earlier and appreciate more of your park.

There is a beautiful exterior with some pretty nature trails nearby. The inside seems to be somewhat wasted space as there is a small exhibit section, a play section, and a gift shop but also wide open conference room space, classroom space, and bird watching space that could have a bit more interaction to occupy little hands and minds. I appreciate the toddler friendly activities in the play space, though. It didn't look like much but there was a nice assortment of books, puzzles, stuffed animals, and a couple other things that could be pulled out and gone through one at a time to take up space. My son also enjoyed the nature trail storybook outside, although it was a bit long for little legs and we didn't get to finish. Overall, I really enjoyed my outing here and think a few small additions could make this center even better.
