We recently stumbled upon this High Dive Kitchen and Bar - what a nice surprise!!…read more We've been in twice in two weeks and have found this spot cozy, super friendly, and very delicious!! Great menu with lots of variety! Great drink menu! Everything we've tried has been great!! This spot is definitely worth a stop! (If only the downtown parking situation wasn't such a beast! But High Dive is worth the feat of finding a nearby spot!) I highly recommend the wings - some of the best we've had in town!! We love doing half and half: lemon pepper and sweet heat with the ranch and blue cheese! Their fries are also way good!! Regular or their truffle style!! The bleu berry salad is my favorite entree, paired with the steak it's an absolute slay!!! It will keep me coming back!

Quite possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had…read more The restaurant smelled bad and it almost caused my wife to leave. That would have been fortuitous. Instead, we had to endure a staff that not only was rude, but willfully neglectful. She had only one other table and, yet, our server, Katlyn, never checked with us unless we forced her to acknowledge us. She avoided eye contact at all costs. Ten minutes with empty drinks and we finally got her attention. My wife asked for another beer and she ran off before I could even ask for another of my drink! The dinner was terrible. My wife's Blackened Bleu Steak ($32) was so bad that she took two bites and set it aside. The food was overcooked and salty. My Olive Cheese Smash Burger ($16) was the same. When we called for the check, the waitress did not even question that the food was nearly untouched on our plates. There are so many great restaurants in the area. Save yourself the hellacious experience of the HighDive Kitchen + Bar.

Though the care has been good in the past, the communication fairly cordial, and the response time…read morefor booking fairly good, I can't recommend this service/company because of 1) high pricing for multiple pet households and 2) they have no contingencies for last-minute cancellations for what I would consider "true, legitimate exceptions." In our case, with a severe weather warning/storm on the way, if I've booked their care but now can't travel because of the severe/dangerous roads/weather headed in, the $120 for one day is gone (the price for two 1-hour visits where one person lets out four dogs into a fenced yard/plays with them). According to a message conversation with the head of the company (and the site), there are no emergency situations where they'd give a refund, including severe weather, accident, loss of power to the home, illness, death of a close friend or family member, and more. I nicely urged a reconsideration of the current policy with the owner and the creation of a more nuanced emergency cancellation policy but received a short response. (Update: in a later phone call, the owner said they occasionally make exceptions on a case-by-case basis, but severe weather/warnings not to drive on the roads are not accepted reasons for cancellation.) As a business owner myself, I can't be on board with their current policy. If you have multiple pets, beware of the high prices; if you must cancel (for what I would think to be "valid reasons"), you may not receive flexibility. I'd love to see perhaps a partial refund, at least, for "legitimate reasons" and a human-centered approach. I hope they reconsider the strict policy because I do believe "life happens," and balanced policies that benefit both the client and the owner are helpful to all.

We started out having Tami help us with letting our dogs out and taking them for walks. However…read moreover the last year she has focused on reinforcing their training with commands such as sit / down, stay, and recall and the difference she has made in their behavior is beyond amazing. They are not only getting good exercise but also are the best behaved they have ever been. In addition to doing amazing work with the dogs (and they love her and look out the window for her in the morning), she is reliable, flexible, and goes above and beyond to help meet our needs and be there whenever we need her support. There is no one better to trust your dogs with - she is one of a kind and we don't know what we would do without her!

Found The Winchester and had to check it out. The vibe was great. The fish was great. The…read moreoverall location was great to be in. I will be coming back because the food, the service, and the pricing were top-tier.

Staff was awesome (friendly, attentive without being smothering, helpful). Food was tasty and came…read moreout pretty quickly. Lamb Gnocchi - lamb was flavorful (cubed bits throughout), the couple of sugar snap peas were fresh and cooked just right (wish there'd been more), the gnocchi itself was excellent. I thought the sauce was a bit much (too much of it and too much flavor/too salty), and it could've had less bread crumbs. Not sure if this dish was supposed to be lukewarm...Without the sauce and excessive amount of breadcrumbs, this dish is easily an 8.5-9/10, but too much sauce & breadcrumbs I have to give it a 6.85/10 Fish & chips - tried my gram's fish and chips. Outside of the batter being pepper heavy, the batter was perfect. It wasn't too thick, it wasn't soggy or over done, literally just the right amount of crunch. The 2 filets were quite big and the fish wasn't dry, nice and flaky. The fries were like old school McDonald's (so when they used to be good and had flavor...). I'm not a fish and chips person, or a pepper person, but from what I tried of this one, I'd say it's an 8/10. Desserts - if you want something light and summery and you don't mind the taste of basil, get the Matcha Tres Leches (green dessert). If you want rich & decadent get the mocha cheesecake. /10 for both desserts but for VERY different reasons.

We've been going to Turtle Lake for more than 10 years on and off (wish it could be more often)…read more We've stayed in the lodge and now have a small motorhome. Both types of quarters have their qualities- just depends on how you like to vacation. There are so many things to do here! Beautiful indoor pool. Really nice tiki bar next to the "conversation pool", a rec building with pool, darts, cards... There are volleyball nets, shuffleboard, mini golf, pickleball courts and more! We've never stayed in one of the"park model" units, but they look lovely. There are dances on Saturday nights and themed weekends during the summer. We love it out here. A couple things to keep in mind: This is a FAMILY resort. There are a few families with kids. Sort of took me by surprise when we first visited, but everyone is very relaxed and take all things in stride. This is NOT a swingers place. No one is looking to "hook up". No one cares about the size of your butt or whether you have weird surgery scars. This is a place where everyone enjoys what you can't do most other places: relax, feel comfortable in your own skin and meet new friends. As a woman, I can honestly tell you I was freaked out about going the first time. We're taught to obsess about cellulite and wrinkles. I've never felt as confidant and comfortable as I do at TLR. It becomes obvious right away that no one judges you... about anything! Once you shed your clothes, no one can tell if your rich or making this the one vacation you can take every couple of years. You don't have to compare yourself with a anyone else on any level. And guys... don't worry about being aroused or embarrassed. After a little adjustment period, when you get used to people being friendly and smiling a lot, you just don't feel like you have to be someone you aren't either. You get to know people for who they are. It sounds corny, but you feel natural here. You appreciate people for what's inside. I'm still a little bummed that they don't have the motorcycle rallies anymore (such a blast!) but everything else keeps getting better here. ;) You should visit! Really! (Bring SUNSCREEN!)
