Our host James did a fantastic job, totally in character from the moment he opened the door, and always showed enthusiasm through out the experience. Most of the clues require some thinking and wasn't particularly hard, but we would have been stuck if we didn't holla at James a couple times for help. We finished with three minutes to spare, I believe this is a good escape room for smaller group that isn't super experienced. Make sure everyone is with you when you knock on the door, my hubby walked away to the bathroom the second we did so the guide had to do the intro twice but he was fantastic! The room got hot (it is very small, maybe 8x8) so wear something comfy and just a side note outta normal BUT you can't bring your purse in with you, and there isn't a safe place to lock your stuff up, just in the room your guide is in. We spent 150 for 5 people to play which .. Really is pretty expensive, that is pretty much my only con especially since it was a tiny room with most things coming from the good will .

During the game play we could ask for clues, we needed many, ha, ha. The clues they gave were helpful and helped us push on to eventually solve it with only less than a minute on the clock. We did the Tales from the Attic room. I won't give away any of the room, I will only say it was kind of like a mystery game of hang man to fill in the clues as we found them. It was different than other escape rooms I have done, but it was fun figuring out the clues to fill in the puzzles. I believe they have 4 different escape rooms here and I am sure they are all just as fun. If you are looking for a fun group activity, work outing, birthday party, etc. I would recommend an escape room and if in the Portland area check out Escape Games PDX. If you solve the game, you can pick a little key trinket as well and go up in the leader board if you solve it fast enough. We unfortunately did not make the leader board. Enjoy!

We did the Prison Heist room because a couple of us had never done an Escape Room before and it seemed like a perfect starter room. Loved that the room is non-linear and the clues were all cohesive. You had a choice of dressing the part as they had inmate costumes readily available. The door is never locked so you can get out if needed. Also, for this room, there is no clock. Your gamemaster will let you know once you have 30 and 10 minutes left. Jake gave us fantastic clues and didn't make us feel like idiots for asking. I feel like we asked for only maybe a handful of clues. We escaped with about 11 minutes to spare. Loved that they had merch for each specific room. Makes it easier to grab a souvenir. Came across this place from friends who are out of town and travel for escape rooms and they were very impressed as well. We did Operation Gryaznayavoda and it was so fun. Despite having a large group of 10 people, found it challenging and everyone had a chance to keep themselves busy. Unique puzzles and locks, awesome story to accompany, and a great game master. When you see the entrance, you already know they put in effort to make this whole room work and you're going to have a good time. Great attention to detail, everything was in working order (with exception of getting in but that's not their fault as someone recently broke it, but this had nothing to do with the game itself and was more a novelty which was cool). Highly recommended and have not been impressed like this in a long time. This unfortunately set the bar unrealistically high for some first timers in our group haha, but now they're hooked to try other games too.

I've never failed to escape before, but this one got us! We were literally one or two steps away when the clock ran out. It was frustrating, but at the same time, incredibly entertaining. I have to admit, I felt like I let my son down because he was really hoping we'd beat it. When you're paying for an escape room, it definitely stings a little when you don't make it out. But honestly, that's part of what makes it such a great experience it leaves you wanting another shot. Pro tip: Bring four or five people if you can. There are so many clues, puzzles, and different things happening at once that having extra sets of eyes makes a huge difference. It's easy to lose time chasing the wrong clue or overlooking something that's right in front of you. Escapology in Clackamas/Happy Valley is top-notch. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and full of creative, immersive rooms with different themes and adventures. The puzzles are clever, the atmosphere pulls you in, and the whole experience keeps you engaged from start to finish. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but you only live once. It's a fantastic activity for families, friends, date nights, birthdays, or team-building. Even if you don't escape, you'll leave talking about the experience and laughing over everything you missed. Andrew made it very special, he was attentive, and made sure we had the best time possible. We had previously done Alien Zoo, which was also fun, but Malice Manor was deliciously macabre. It was definitely more challenging than I was expecting but our teamwork was unstoppable! The employee is great! He plays one of the characters and does a great job staying engaged. You can ask for hints if you're really stumped. You're not completely locked in so if you have to use the restroom or have an emergency you can kind of come and go. Price is reasonable. Parking was a breeze. They have their own lot and there is also street parking available.
