We were I. Portland for meetings. We came to Escape Games PDX for a team building outing…read more The staff here was nice and explained the games to us before we went in. During the game play we could ask for clues, we needed many, ha, ha. The clues they gave were helpful and helped us push on to eventually solve it with only less than a minute on the clock. We did the Tales from the Attic room. I won't give away any of the room, I will only say it was kind of like a mystery game of hang man to fill in the clues as we found them. It was different than other escape rooms I have done, but it was fun figuring out the clues to fill in the puzzles. I believe they have 4 different escape rooms here and I am sure they are all just as fun. If you are looking for a fun group activity, work outing, birthday party, etc. I would recommend an escape room and if in the Portland area check out Escape Games PDX. If you solve the game, you can pick a little key trinket as well and go up in the leader board if you solve it fast enough. We unfortunately did not make the leader board. Enjoy!

We did the Prison Heist room because a couple of us had never done an Escape Room before and it seemed like a perfect starter room. Loved that the room is non-linear and the clues were all cohesive. You had a choice of dressing the part as they had inmate costumes readily available. The door is never locked so you can get out if needed. Also, for this room, there is no clock. Your gamemaster will let you know once you have 30 and 10 minutes left. Jake gave us fantastic clues and didn't make us feel like idiots for asking. I feel like we asked for only maybe a handful of clues. We escaped with about 11 minutes to spare. Loved that they had merch for each specific room. Makes it easier to grab a souvenir. We also were able to pick out a tiny key as our prize for escaping. Cute touch. Good job, Escape Games PDX!

We went for damage control as that was one of two escape room that was still available on a busy New Year's day. I was super glad to find a escape room activity that day. However I felt the there was just too much of puzzles to be solved with the Damage Control themed room. To be honest the first 40-45 minutes was pretty fun. However the kind of trap and puzzles started to get bit repetitive as we moved. We definitely avoided the ship collision but couldn't finish all puzzles in time. They have rated it as standard but I felt it was more difficult than that. Not because the puzzles were really difficult but because they were so many !

We got a good discount on our party and I believed we paid $18-20pp on this night. I had some complaints about the room...mainly one of the light bulbs needed to solve a puzzle was burnt out and we weren't aware of that until spending a long time trying to figure it out. Another group prior had damaged one of the clues by getting a book wet and red dye was all over the prop which made it difficult to solve another puzzle. Another one of the props was made with really thin paper and the ink bled thru so it was difficult knowing which side of the page to use to solve the puzzle. The theme was pretty weak and the immersion was really poor and it didn't feel really creative to us when compared to the 3 other rooms we've done prior. Despite the discount...we still sorta felt like we didn't get our moneys worth.

Josh was a great guide giving us clues or nudges when needed to move us along and was very tolerant of our curious 5 year olds questions and energy. The kids are already asking when we can go again! I was the only one who had much experience in escape rooms, so although we did not make it out together we still had a great time solving the clues we could. The room was quite interactive with several elements you had to engage with in just the right way, rather than just a series of locks to open. Definitely challenging for us but maybe that just means we need to come back and have more practice!

Came across this place from friends who are out of town and travel for escape rooms and they were very impressed as well. We did Operation Gryaznayavoda and it was so fun. Despite having a large group of 10 people, found it challenging and everyone had a chance to keep themselves busy. Unique puzzles and locks, awesome story to accompany, and a great game master. When you see the entrance, you already know they put in effort to make this whole room work and you're going to have a good time. Great attention to detail, everything was in working order (with exception of getting in but that's not their fault as someone recently broke it, but this had nothing to do with the game itself and was more a novelty which was cool). Highly recommended and have not been impressed like this in a long time. This unfortunately set the bar unrealistically high for some first timers in our group haha, but now they're hooked to try other games too.

Our host James did a fantastic job, totally in character from the moment he opened the door, and always showed enthusiasm through out the experience. Most of the clues require some thinking and wasn't particularly hard, but we would have been stuck if we didn't holla at James a couple times for help. We finished with three minutes to spare, I believe this is a good escape room for smaller group that isn't super experienced. Be ready when you pull up because it's just an old apartment building diverted into "offices" there is little street parking so do not leave things in your car! Make sure everyone is with you when you knock on the door, my hubby walked away to the bathroom the second we did so the guide had to do the intro twice but he was fantastic! The room got hot (it is very small, maybe 8x8) so wear something comfy and just a side note outta normal BUT you can't bring your purse in with you, and there isn't a safe place to lock your stuff up, just in the room your guide is in. We spent 150 for 5 people to play which .. Really is pretty expensive, that is pretty much my only con especially since it was a tiny room with most things coming from the good will .
